Now it's nice and exactly what I was looking for, but I would like to know how to do the same exact thing in pure javascript. Can anyone link me to any tutorials that demonstrate how to achieve the same effect where content appears or disappears in a division of the page to the right of the tabs.

I have a simple check box in an admin panel where the idea is that if it is checked then 'display' a div on the page, if it is not checked then hide it.When I tick the checkbox, the div shows up, but then disappears right away. (it does the fade-in display:block, but instantly changes back to display:none).

View 12 Replies View RelatedI am using jQuery tabs and when I have very long content within the tabs, my browsers scroll bar reflects the content in the tab with the most content.
Example, "Tab 1" & "Tab 3" has a very long scroll bar, even though it has no content (because of Tab 2) and you can scroll down through the empty space

Is there a way I can hide the content in Tab 2 so that my browsers scroll bar displays correctly in relation to the content in the active tab?
I would like to create vertical variant of the standard ui.tabs. In visual terms, I would like to "rotate the basic ui.tabs layout by 90 degrees, clockwise"; the tabs should be on the right, with a maximum width of 50-60px. Basically, I would like to re-create a standard, paper-based, address-book, with each tab having a letter (or a range of letters).
I've tried a number of variations, but my CSS/jQuery skills obviously fall short of my imagination... :-)

The fade effect on IE causes that the image shadow.png appears black on border for a while, fade effect is too uggly, firefox and safari works fine. Now I have to set fade=0 only to support IE7.
I have web video player that can display adds by inserting a div tag on top of the player after an amount of seconds that I specify.
I would like to manipulate the content of the div tag with jquery but I can't do this since the div tag is not present when the document is loaded.
I have looked into several options.
But all the solutions seems to rely on an event to happen - a link is clicked, some element is mouseovered and then jquery runs throug the DOM again.
But in this case no event occurs! The user click play (on a flash player) remove the hand from the mouse and 15 secs later the div tag with the add is displayed.
Is there any way to select this div tag and manipulate the content?

Currently the scroller moves up and down when you hover over the top and bottom buttons however you have to keep moving in and out of the hover area in order to get the scroller to move. How can you make it so that it will do a continuous scroll of the scroll-content div. Also currently the script has no way to limit the end of the scroll-content div and I cant seem to get it to stop once it gets to the bottom of this div.
how do i get it/what is the source code so when one java pop up appears when my page is visited another one appears over the top of it like in windows when they is 2 boxes but one overlaps the other one

I'm looking for a tut on how to create tabs for content, not tabs for navigation/menu. Yes, kinda confusing, but here's an example of what I'm after code...
If you scroll down mid way, you will see a tabbed area where it provides the options to check out: Photos, Location, Aeriel and Street View. This is what I want to mimic (not the tabbed navigation up top in the menu bar).

Basically, I need jQuery tabs function but in a simple way, without the tab plugin etc.
However, this is slightly different to the solutions I found throughout Sitepoint. The catch is that I need to change two content containers. Plus the usual "activelink" class when clicked on a tab.
I've tried numerous things, mainly involing the index and n-th child selectors, just can't seem to make it work as a whole. I'd like to use that method in the end, if possible (ie. if the first link in <ul> is clicked then show the first <div> in div#tabs-cotainer and the first <div> in div#tabs-container-2)
It should ofcourse be able to parse as many links/contents as I put in there (probably with a ".each(function)").

View 3 Replies View RelatedTo synchronize the vertical scroll of the following "left" and "right" divs only when the beginning and end of each "blahN " div is reached inside the left div. Both divs have a finite height, which basically insures that the scroll bar will be present. The left div outputs text-based content from various database procedures while the right div outputs images corresponding to the text. The text is nothing more than pages from the website and as you can see inside the left div, each is encapsulated within a subsequent div with an incremental class (i.e.- "blah1", "blah2", and so forth.) When one scrolls through each "blah" content inside of the left div, I would like the right div to output the image that corresponds to the text (again, this data comes from the website through previous transactions.) Here's an example: John Doe comes to the website and starts reading the various pages listed inside the left div.
There might be 2 pages loaded inside the left div, or, there might be 20, but in any event, when he loads the entire page containing all this, the first page will be displayed along with the first pages' image. When he scrolls past this first entry (page) inside the left div, the corresponding image related to it inside the MySQL database is then output as well over in the right div and so on with every other "blahN " piece of content. Right now, the jQuery I'm using has synchronized both divs to scroll at the same time, regardless of specific waypoints that might be reached per-scrolling.

I have 3 tabs that call an external ASP page that has a rather intensive Database query and takes a while to execute and display. On my tab there's a link to another page. once that page is finished the user goes back to the tab. But my problem is it's going back to the database page (that takes a while to execute).Can the original page be cached and remembered so that I dont have to keep calling my database page?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to get basic JQuery tabs working, using the example shown on this website.If I put the example code on a page by itself it works exactly as intended. However, as soon as I try and incorporate that same code into my site its behaviour changes. The content for all three tabs appears on the one page and then when the page has finished loaded they then eventually hide.

I use tabs, loading content by ajax. When I click on a tab, on first load, any access to objects like:
$("#my_input_text").val('my value')
Works fine, but if a click on another tab, and click again to theprevioustab, the same code don't update the input text.I think that is because the document has 2 inputs with the same id after second refresh.
To prove this, I did, on javascript console of firebug:
document.getElementById('my_input_text').id = "bad_my_input_text";
and$("#my_input_text").val('my value')
works again. Exist some way, when click on a new tab, before load a content, clean all data from previous tab?
Before the tab ui is loaded, I see the content of both tabs on the front page. Is there a way to fix this?[url]...
