JQuery :: 1.6 Release And Checkboxes ?
May 6, 2011jQuery have now released version 1.6 in to the wild, but if you use it, you need to be aware of some compatibility issues.
The above-linked page goes through all of the issues, but I think that the one that will affect the most people is when getting the checked attribute from a checkbox.

Previously, the attr() method was used to get true or false for the checkbox. In version 1.6 though it just returns an empty string.

With version 1.6 onwards the attribute called checked is empty, as it has no string value, so the attribute string will always be ""
You now need to use the prop() method instead when using jQuery 1.6.

Jan 2, 2011How would a make a 2-D school schedule? The first row should have in it the days of the week and the first column should have the number of periods. The array should be 6 x 12. And how would I be able to ask the user what day/period they would like to know the schedule for? For example if they wanted to know what class was mondays 3rd period it would say math.

Sep 30, 2010I'm trying to get it to display a document write on the website if the time is as specified and the day is.These are the times and days i want to display for:
Monday: CLOSED
Tuesday: 9AM - 5:30PM

At the moment this script only writes for Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 6pm (GMT0). But as you can see from my times above i want to be able to show two unique times for 2 days tues-thurs and friday (open) / sat-sun (close).i assume the else statement would be used for both monday and sunday as it writes close? how to go about this, tried changing the the t_day but had no success

JQuery :: Two Submit-buttons - Only One Should Release Validation
Apr 14, 2010I have a form, that uses validation with jquery, it contains 2 submit-buttons: one is 'back' the other is 'forward'
How it should be: By clicking the 'forward'-submit-button, jquery should validate, if clicking the 'back'-submit-button, jquery should ignore validation
But the problem is: jquery validates at each submit
Now my question: How can I get it, that there is no Validation, when I click on 'back'-submit-button, or in other words, that jquery can differentiate on whitch submit-button it should validate?

JQuery :: Release 1.4.2 Doesn't Support Cross Server Functionality?
Aug 31, 2010I am using jquery.1.3.2 version in my application. My application is running on two different server, one is on "http" and other is on "https" I am displaying few files from httpsserver tohttp server via ajax. Everything works fine in IE 6 +. But same functionality not works in Firefox 3.5. Before changing jQuery's version (dont know exactly which version), my functionality works properly in IE and FF. Today I downloaded latest version of Jquery (1.4.2), and while testing I found that, my functionality isnot working in IE too. After restoring old version (1.3.2) everything works fine (in IE) Does anybody explain me what I am doing wrong? What is the solution for this?

I thought maybe it's something wrong with iframe, but there are requests made to server. On server side, there is 499 error code for IE (it's internal nginx error code, it says that browser closed connection before nginx even sent anything) and 408 for Firefox.

Sep 25, 2011I made a request to db via jQuery.post(). Generally it works as it should, but if I use german special characters, they are treated wrongly. For closer examinations, I set up a new file without db-access, only displaying regular and special chars. I checked the characters after reading the value of text-input by alerting it. At this moment, it is correct! The issue happens when jQuery gives the variables to POST (its the same with GET). The target-file can read only wrong characters from POST. I crosschecked it by submitting data by a standard form. Now, the POST is read correctly. Special chars, which are echoed explicitly (not questioned by POST) are given back correcty
- I defined charset it in html header and tried other charsets - always the same.
- Adding the accept-tag to inputbox didn't help.
- Redefining charset in target-file didn't help.
- Adding the charset-tag to the jQuery including script didn't help.
So, I think, the code is correct but there is an issue with the charset. And it is definitley at this moment, when transfering the variable to the POST.
