JQuery :: Release 1.4.2 Doesn't Support Cross Server Functionality?
Aug 31, 2010
I am using jquery.1.3.2 version in my application. My application is running on two different server, one is on "http" and other is on "https" I am displaying few files from httpsserver tohttp server via ajax. Everything works fine in IE 6 +. But same functionality not works in Firefox 3.5. Before changing jQuery's version (dont know exactly which version), my functionality works properly in IE and FF. Today I downloaded latest version of Jquery (1.4.2), and while testing I found that, my functionality isnot working in IE too. After restoring old version (1.3.2) everything works fine (in IE) Does anybody explain me what I am doing wrong? What is the solution for this?
I'm trying to write a script that will be loaded from one server into a website on another server. This script is trying to talk (ajax) to the server that it comes from but I'm getting "Access Denied" errors. I'm well aware that cross-domain calls are not allowed for security reasons so my question is how does Google Analytics work because essentially thats what I'm trying to accomplish. I can embed a Google Analytics script into my website and it'll gather data and send it back to Google.
window.attachEvent doesn't work in Netscape 7.2 or other browsers, is there an alternative that can be used? I did some searching on the web but all I could find was how to use window.attachEvent, not what else could be substituted for it to work with other browsers (if anything)
Initially I (successfully) tested my project after deploying to the Apache server which is running in the localhost.
But, if I just open the page in a browser (without deploying to the server), the project works fine! How this is possible?
According to my understanding, if we send an AJAX request, which is really an HTTP request, which has to be received by an HTTP server and the response should come from the server.
How to get outerhtml for document.body for different browsers.
I am passing document.body to the method mentioned in the code below:
Code:
function getOuterHTML(object) { try{ var element;
[Code]....
In firefox and chrome, I get only the HTML markup; but the data that is part of the controls of the input object is not getting populated.Whereas, in IE it works.
My problem is quite annoying, probably something really stupid but I've been going around it and didn't find a solution.I call in 2 different pages to this partial view:
<div id = "pNotification"
[Code].....
The funny thing about it is that in the first page I try it, it works just fine and it shows the value of the 3 buttons, but in the second, with the code I'm posting it only shows the alert window when I click on the 3rd radio button below. How is that even possible? It only happens in IE.
I was trying to use a jQuery timer to repeat a function at intervals, but it didn't work in IE. Then I read that IE doesn't support setInterval, which seems amazing. Did I read this right? And if so, what do I use in jQuery to keep repeating a function at intervals? I've tried a few things and they all bomb out in IE, just doing something once, although they work in FF. What works in the execrable IE and real browsers?
I am using this code to refresh the browser after a iframe has finished loading. Does anyone know a cross-browser one that will work on all browsers. I have tested it on firefox and internet explorer, it seems to only work on firefox.
I'm running into an IE7 problem where the Visual Studio debugger is saying:"Microsoft JScript runtime error: Object doesn't support this property or method".Visual Studio is highlighting this line as the problem:[code] I then trim/lowercase it.The pertinent code block is below, the "lis" are list items I'm iterating over, I'm checking if the text of the li is equal to a dynamically populated hidden form field on the page.Code all works fine in Firefox, but throws errors in IE.[code]
I'm developing a website and am testing in IE 8 and am getting an error "Object doesn't support this property or method" for https:[url].... when I click on the error message on the lower-left of the browser window.This error comes on only when I am at the home page, then if I click on Lawn Care on the right. It is supposed to highlight the word and scroll to it. It is fine if I'm already on the Maintenance page.The site works in all browsers except IE 8.
Can you help me with this. Browser IE 6 and JQuery 1.4.4
Error is at this line$("#form0").validate({ rules: { issueCheckBox: { selectNone: true}} }); in document.Ready function. If code is not properly formatted please see the attachement. Script.txt
I am using jQuery-1.4 and jquery-1.3.2-vsdoc2.js to have Intellicense in VS 2008 . Some times i got following error : Warning1Error updating JScript IntelliSense: jquery-1.4.1.min.js: Object doesn't support this property or method @ 32:399Default.aspx
I'm having some problems calling a JS function with a form button.
My function looks like this: function selection(modify, id) { document.frmNews.hideID.value = id; document.frmNews.hideType.value = modify; document.frmNews.submit(); }
The button: <input type="button" name="btnEdit2" value="Edit" OnClick="selection('edit', 2)" />
The button works if I change it's type to a "submit" but that seems to skip the whole function and just submits.
When I try this the button text is changed and the button is disabled, but the form doesn't submit. In IE I get an error that points to theline that says:
b.form.submit();
and the error:
Object doesn't support this property or method
What's the difference between doing this code directly in the onClick event and doing it in a function?
I have looked at the various posts about setting onclick in IE and I cannot see any that exactly describe the problem I am having.
Firstly I am not trying to set onclick by calling setAttribute, which most of the posts describe. I am simply assigning a value to the onclick attribute of the element, which those posts seem to imply.
Specifically I am getting "Object doesn't support this action" on the following line: editButton.onclick= editCitation; editCitation is already a function, so I do not see why I should have to wrap it in an anonymous function wrapper to get IE to permit the assignment.
I am trying to preload some sounds for a website I am working on... Originally I used the embed tag but that caused problems in Opera and did not validate... So I've switched to the object tag which now works in everything except IE8...
I had to put in a class to hide the sound files because tey were appearing with controls in Opera...
.embedded { visibility: hidden; }
Lastly here is the javascript code that plays the sound when required... Works in latest FF, Opera, Safari and Chrome but not in IE8... IE8 generates an 'object doesn't support this property or method' error...
var thisSound=document.getElementById(soundObj); thisSound.Play();
I'm assuming this is because IE8 can't get the id from the object tag but can't find a work around... I want to make sure all the code validates appropriately so I am trying to avoid the embed tag..
I'm working on a project at the office that pulls together a bunch of our websites into a portal thing and adds a better search engine. We're also trying to accomadate newer browsers (Netscape 7.2, Firefox, Safari) and are having some problems. The websites run on different servers, all of which we control, so we are setting the document.domain = "ourdomain.com"; in some javascript on ever page. However, we're having problems. We use popup windows for some things, and sometimes these popups want to 'populate' the parent frame window with a new page as a result of a user selection on the popup.
This works most of the time, but not always. For instance, in Netscape 7.2 it just seems to fail with an "access denied..." error in javascript. In Firefox and Safari it opens a new window and populates that instead of populating the original parent window. Can anyone point me at some definitive information about the document.domain property and how to use it effectively?
What I want to do which I can't achieve is that I want the functionality of the Option Type, Number of Answers and Answer buttons within each row to match the functionality on top. The problem is that under the "Answer" column within the new row it does not allow the user to select a button and the textbox under the "Number of Answers" button doesn't do anything but just display a number within the textbox.
Step 1: Open the fiddle and you see an options and answers section on top. Open the grid and select option 8. Buttons A to H would appear.
Step 2: Type in 2 in the Number of Answers Textbox.
Step 3: Select buttons A and D, you will find out that those buttons would turn green to show they are selected. Now as you entered in 2 in the Number of answers textbox (step 2), it won't let you select more than 2 buttons, if you do an alert would apear stating you are beyond limit please deselect a button to choose another button.
Step 4. Click "Add Question", a new row is added in the table.
Step 5: In the new row you just created, lets say that oh no I made a mistake, there should be 4 answers not 2 answers and within the table row you just added you changed the number of answers textbox from 2 to 4. My question is how can I get it so that it allows the user to select the buttons (turn buttons green) and deselect (turn buttons white) under the "Answer" column within in the row and that if the user has selected 4 buttons but tries to select a 5th button, it will come up with same error as in Step 3?
My code is all about darkening out part of the browser window, making unclickable. I detect if the user is running IE, and if so, I don't use window.innerHeight because MS doesn't support anything. However, I have noticed an issue, and I believe it has to do with the "top" value. I've tried using window.screenY, but that didn't seem to solve my problem. You see, if you are running FF, it draws a box that starts in the top corner and only goes down as far as you can actually see on your browser.
Say you are scrolled down a little bit on the page, you can see the end of this box - it doesn't cover the entire page, only the part that is visible when the scrollbar is all the way up. I have included a picture to clarify what I'm talking about. The non-grayed out area is the area that would normally not be visible when the scrollbar is at the top. I would like to draw this box over the visible part of the page, no matter where you are scrolled. Right now, the box always draws from the very top of the page, even if that part isn't visible to the user.
I have created Class1.dll file . and in javascript I am creating ActiveXobject . when i debug the application. Its gives error like Object doesn't support this property or method.
