A client would like me to implement spreadsheet-style form traversal using the arrow keys on a keyboard, i.e. left arrow would submit the entry for that field and then move left by one field on the form.
The form is managed by my PHP code. Does anyone have a browser-independent method of doing this please?
All input fields in the form are single line text fields.

I am using Xmlhttprequest object and checking for the onreadystate event and calling a function(), this is called for every 1 sec using the setTimeout method, this works perfectly but using this does not allow to navigate to the next page by clicking the next button in the page.

How can I use a pop-up page to navigate the parent page?
For instance, on my homepage, I have something like "Click here to choose your location". This should open up a page, with a list of option that I can choose to navigate the homepage!

My goal is to display an address. In the example on google, you can input it through a form:[url]
I would like the map to show the location+marker when I open the page, not after clicking a submit button.
However, I only want an address in my html. I want the API to convert it in a LatLng format.
It's all in the source code of the page mentioned above.

I am writing an MVC ASP.NET based website, and I want to create a ActionLink that deletes the current entity. For search engine reasons, I don't want this link to be able to be followed (else all my data is gone!), unless a user, via jQuery, confirms the action. For the confirmation, I can use something like:
[html]
<a href="" id="delete">Delete this entity</a>
[js]
$( function() {
[Code]....
What is the best way to do this? Should I submita form or is there a navigate method that I missed?

i am trying to create some markers on an image to point some options. I would like to emulate the same shape as google marker balloon, but i dont know if its possible to create using just css and javascript or not.
i have created a function which creates a rectangular div on the image when we click on the image. but i want its shape to be like a water drop, as it is much more better to see and figure out what it is pointing to.

I have just written some jQuery code that had to navigate to a parent sibling then 3rd child. My code was
$(this).parent().next('ul').children('li').children('span').children('input').attr('checked', 'checked');
Is there any way to optimize this I thought this would work
$(this).parent().next('ul').children('li span input').attr('checked', 'checked');

I have been playing with a bit of code I found of the web and it works well, it basicly allows me to create pages and navigate between them all done via JQuery. The one question I have is, how hard is it to add some simple animation to it, such as fadein which if I have read correctly is built into JQuery?
code below:

I've built this webpage : [URL]. Now, I want the slideshows (Jquery Cycle) to have a pager to navigate the images instead of previous and next [URL].
My code looks like this :
function ajaxpage(url, containerid) {
var $container= $('#' + containerid);
$container.hide().load(url, function() {
$container.fadeIn();
$('.slideshow')
.cycle({
next: '#next2',
prev: '#prev2',
fx: 'blindX', speed:'1500',
timeout: 0, .....
after: function() {
var alt = $(this).attr('alt');
// do something with alt text
$('#someElement').html(alt);
}});
});}
The code I need to implement looks like this :
$
('#slideshow'
).before('<ulid="nav">'
).cycle({fx:'turnDown'
,speed:'fast'
,timeout:0
,pager:'#nav'
,//callbackfnthatcreatesathumbnailtouseaspageranchor
pagerAnchorBuilder:function
(idx,slide){return
'<li><ahref="#"><imgsrc="'
+slide.src+'"width="50"height="50"/></a></li>'
;}});
How to do this successfully?

I'm using the goMap Google Maps plugin very successfully (and I highly recommend it) - except that I can't seem to set shadows on my map markers. There appears to be support for this in the plugin source code - but there's no documentation I can find.
Anyone got an clues on how to do this? This is a simplified version of the code I'm trying to use. I have checked the obvious/stupid things - file path is correct (the image isn't 404ing in firebug), and there's no js errors being thrown, or any other warnings reported.

I want to know if this can be done using jQuery and Google Maps. In my website I have a Google map where users could add new markers with a description on it and the marker they put would be permanent on my map, meaning if they comeback they would still see the markers they added.
I also want the feature that they could just drag and drop the marker, so it would be easy to the users. What would be my approach and how would I do it?

Does anyone know how it would be possible to create bar at the bottom of the browser window that doesn't reload when you navigate thru the site. A good example is the chatbox that Facebook has. When you click links throughout the site the chat box is constant and doesn't reload.

I am working on a page that will load in other pages using AJAX and the .html method. Something like this :
<span id = "edit">Edit</span>
<div id = "cont">
</div>
//the click edit script
[Code]....
Unfortunately this does not seem to work, entirely. It does trigger the click event but it messes up the post for some reason. I have played around with it for the last 45 minutes or so and it seems like the click event trigger is what is messing things up, if I comment it out it works fine. Could anyone tell me why they think this is? note this is an over simplified version of my actual code, but the structure is the same.

I have done some research and cannot find anything appropriate. I would like to be able to navigate up and down the inside of a div (selecting A Tags) and directing to them when the user presses 'Enter'.
Effectively need a function that records the up and down arrows and the enter key. It is for an autocomplete, I know there are jQuery things for this but I do not want to use jQuery! I need it to be fully browser compatible.

I know how to employ .load() to bring a partial doc.html into a receptacle division upon menu selection, but am still unclear after reading the api whether I can also load a dedicated .css file for it ...I suppose prior to content load(?)... or if I can/should outfit the doc.html with <head><style> yada yada</style></head> and load it as one doc..
Or is one obliged to write out the entire styling for the doc.html in camelCase as a string enclosed in .css() ??
These are various stories fetchable via a menu. Each one has a different and detailed set of classes for styling..
Lastly, should I identify each story as an id or class?
What I'm not wrapping my head around is how to lay out the stylesheet. If a particular story ...(I'm using the same name as its document page (minus '.html')... is denoted as a class or id, then how do I assure that all the classes and id's which are in effect subordinate only to that id or class name also get loaded...?
