I am using CuteEditor for my WYSIWYG text editor. I like to hide all the icons until the user click on the textbox editor. Is there a way to do this in jQuery?

I'm thinking about something like this one: [URL] I tried to google, but unluckily I didn't find anything concerning this topic, then I tried to understand the code of the example linked above and realized that somehow an iframe is loaded. I couldn't manage to find out whether it's just in case of compatibility issues or the final solution. If latter comes true: why are you using a <div> element in the markup then and what's this all about this <textarea> solution (I've heard of this some time ago when looking for jQuery WYSIWYG editors) basically i'd like to understand how it is working, as I'm following the "learning-by-programming"-principle

I guess I could run a sql query on login of the contents of the database table, and store an array of image urls and thumbnails into a session, then have a 'pop-up' display the list of images you can choose from.Anyway, first thing's first. I need to be able to add the bbcode around text highlighted by the user, exactly like I am able to do with this handy SitePoint WYSIWYG editor I am using right now. So I need to grab the highlighted text with jQuery and then I can append the '[,b]' and '[/b]' round it.

Anybody have any idea how to accomplish this seemingly easy task? I've looked at the source code for various open source apps (like Wordpress and phpBB) but the code in both of these is gargantuan and fairly difficult to follow with all the includes and custom objects, functions etc.
I am trying to use a very simpe wysiwyg-editor. It works fine, except i don't know how to proces the data from the iframe. I simply cant make use of the text written.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI've got this code to add bbcode into a wysiwyg rich text editor. Everything's working fine except when I want to add an image. The first time the script is run everything is ok, but the second time I get two image inserts, third time I get three and so on.

So first time I click on '#uploads tr', I get [img="filename"], then if I type some more stuff and then add another image, I get [img="filename"] 'Some more stuff' [img="filename2"][img="filename2"], then I'll get three image tags, then four and so on. I can see that it's something to do with the line I've highlighted, but I can't see why, or how to change it.
I use jQuery MsDropDown plugin to realise a combo box with icons. However, I need to use "title" attribute of the option to indicate the name of the icon. Also I can't use this attribute to write the text I want to show as tooltips.

Is it possible to write jQuery code that will hide all <tr>'s that's under the <tr> with <div> (Click me 1) inside them? But not to hide those that's under the <tr> with <div> (Click me 2).
Class name "panel" must be same for all clickable <div>'s. <tr>'s and <td>'s can't have any class or id.
I have 3 types of columns and they are identified by their class (in the TD and TH)... they are1. Always - cells that always appear - includes a primary key2. Main - cells that are necessary to be shown, but can be toggled3. Advanced - cells that are superfluous but helpful for the viewer.I want the user to be able to toggle Main and Advanced as visible/invisible. The following code works perfectly in FF, Chrome, and IE7, but in IE8 the two tab divs do not hide (or then show; they are visible) with clicking the tabs.

I can't see why this would not work in IE8. I am not familiar with all the CSS changes in this new browser, so perhaps that's the issue? Again, the tabs never hide and clicking the tabs does nothing, so I'm guessing that section of script is not doing anything.
I would like to know if there is a way to keep the script as is but also add a function to this script so that if a user clicks on another tab (div) the open tab will close on click? Please see code below:

I'm using the following css code which wrapped around a dynamically populated field;<span class="ui-widget-header platform ui-corner-all"></span>
When the span is empty I want to hide it, and I've used this jquery to do this.
However, the ui-widget-header class appears to be stopping it from hiding - if I remove this class it hides fine.
In my list box if i select one item corresponding to that 4 fields has
to be appear below the list box and if i select another item only 1
field has to be appear below the list box and if i select another item
no fields has to be selected.
