I use jQuery MsDropDown plugin to realise a combo box with icons. However, I need to use "title" attribute of the option to indicate the name of the icon. Also I can't use this attribute to write the text I want to show as tooltips.

I have many links on my page. When the user moves over one of the Links, i want to show two or three small icons (perhaps fade in) on the right side of the link so the user could click on it. When the user moves to another link, the previous shown icons should be hidden (perhaps fade out) and the new icons which belong the new link should be shown and made visible. Is this possible?

This script works fine but there is just one thing I want to add but unfortunately I'm not familiar with javascript enough... I want to display small images when an item is selected from the second drop down. An image should be assigned somehow to each selection from the right hand drop down menu in the code and when someone selects something from the list, an image should be displayed next to it automatically.

I am trying to duplicate the graphic effect used in Outlook for sorting Columns, click on it the first time and it sorts descending, click again and it clicks ascending, click on another field and the original image returns and that field is now sorted. I can do the actual sort on the back-end using JSP, and really only need to make the script smart enough to know that another column has been clicked.
A couple of items for consideration, I am working on an intranet, and must support Version 4 browsers. The server I am using is an Iplanet V6.0 server.
I am using the tablesorter plugin and am experiencing the following problem:
Under several scenarios the up/down arrow icons will overlap with the text in a column's header. This occurs if the browser is resized so the table width is too narrow (e.g. plugin should force a min-width perhaps?).
More importantly, this will also occur when the text in a columns header is shorter than any of the values in the column the up/down icons overlap with the text in the column header.
I've attempted setting padding on the header columns but no success (probably because the up/down icons are set as background images and therefore have no impact on padding)
At the moment the plugin won't be usable for me since the arrorws overlap with the text in several columns.
Is it possible to create a link to have a window pop up and not have the bar that has the title and minimize/maximize/close icons? If so, how could I do this?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am new to javascript, and am having an issue, which I'm sure is elementary.. I found a script for expandable content, it suffices fine. As it stands, the script toggles images onclick. For example, whence the menu is collapsed, it displays "plus.gif" next to it, and when the menu is expanded, it displays "minus.gif" next to it.
Basically, what I would like to know is, thus: how would I change it to display text icons next to it? For example, in place of "plus.gif" I should like it to display "+" as actual text. I've dredged a number of places, however, I've found nothing. Furthermore, I cannot figure out how to do it.
What I have got is a form that a user has to fill out and submit (when validated all variables are stored in a session and emailed after multiple forms are completed), currently I have radio buttons, text boxes and a combo box/ drop down list (for location). All parts are working fine and validating fine. My problem is to do with the combo box//ddl. I have successfully validated the ddl so the user must select a location onsubmit and it is added to session and passed fine.At the moment the ddl only has cities or towns in it however as I would like to include different states and possibly different countries I need a code that validates the state first and then only gives the cities/towns that are in that state (otherwise my ddl would be to large). I can do this with links however I can't seem to do it in a form.

I'm sure some of you guys are familiar with the jquery plugin, tipsy. I want to be able to display HTML inside the tooltip but more like a div layer (<div id="tweet"></div>). I noticed I can put tags like bold and italic text inside the tooltip but not full divs. How would I go about doing that? I'm trying to display a twitter script by seaofclouds inside the tooltip. View 1 Replies View Relatedi'm trying to hide title and alt tooltips from popping up. i realized that tooltip plugins can hide the browser tooltip and display their own generated style. i am using plugins like fancybox and cycle which have been configured to use attributes for links and description therefore i need title/alt.
i've been unsuccessfully trying to write a function that onmousehover saves the title/alt attribute and empties the attributes (alt="" title="") so they don't popup, then restores them onmouseout.
i know it has something to do with .data() but I can't seem to get it working. i've tried breaking down very simple tooltip plugins, but once i start removing lines of code, it doesn't do anything.
I have this photo gallery that I'm setting up where I've used some jquery to pop a magnified view of an image when the mouse is hovered over the thumbnail. As it is right now, it always positions the magnified image with the top-left corner at the x and y position of the mouse cursor. What I need it to do is if the image is going to be displayed beyond the viewport, that it would change its positioning to the corner that will show the whole image.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a grammar check on the server that can grammar check text... big surprise there. It'll return a list of match problems, along with the positions in the text that are flawed. It'll also send the grammar rule that was broken in plain english, to help someone fix it.
So we have a list of these basically:
What I'd like to do is apply different styles to the text inside of the <textarea> for all these positions (5 to 10 in the case above, but I'm going to have a list of these).
I also want to make it so if a user hovers on top one of these problems, I can show a tooltip that contains the "message" property.
