Mar 28, 2010I'm trying to make a javascript function that will change the style of <span> tags that are hovered over en-masse. Meaning every <span> tag with onmouseover and onmouseout with this function will change it's style. Currently, I'm trying to work from the getElementById standpoint, but this is unbelievably tedious.

Feb 7, 2011I'm making an ajax call to my server and then, with the information I get back,ynamically creating HTML with jQuery, then appending it to my desired div. This part works excellently. The issue I'm having trouble with is I'm only returning five records, so I'm creating a span at the bottom labeled "see all", but even if I give that span a class,it's clearly not registering in the DOM because when I click it, my jQuery code doesn't even know it's there.My question: How do I get those dynamically generated elements to register in my DOM so they can be called by a jQuery click event?I realize that I can just do an inline javascript call to my function and that works fine(ish). The problem is, however, I want specific information about the particular span that I click, and if I call it inline, it doesn't send $(this) to my function... it recognizes $(this) as $(window), not as $(span that I clicked)

Creating Field Inside Span Tag With Dynamic ID
Sep 8, 2010I have a php script that lists some items which can be checked or unchecked. Now, I am trying to make a javascript that writes a comment field in a certain "span" - comm_'.$i.', where $i starts from 0 - if the check box is already checked (info retrieved from the database) or if the user checks the check box (when the user unchecks the check box the comment field should disappear). The problem is that I am unable to make it work properly (when I check or uncheck a box it doesn't work at all), I mean it only works for the element above, so if box_1 is checked it can only create the comment field in comm_0.

But all my google searches come up blank, and I'm having a bit of a brain fart.Can anyone show me what is the proper cross-browser method to dynamically replace the text inside a span element?(I did it originally with replaceChild, but after about 500 calls to the js function, the page reloads, and that is not good.

Displaying HTML Inside XML Tags?
Apr 27, 2009Hi I'm new to the development world and have bumped into a tough problem for myself. I'm attempting to display external RSS feeds on my site using AJAX. The 'title' and 'link' tags from the XML file appear on my page without any problem. However, unlike the 'title' and 'link' tags, some of the 'description' tags contain HTML.
This seems to be an issue when I'm trying to display the content within the description tags. As you can see, I embarrassingly tried enclosing the variable newtext2 in CDATA tags to no avail. Since I do not directly have access to this RSS file (other than asking my friend if I can edit it), is there a way for me to display the HTML content within the 'description' tags strictly via JavaScript?

Apr 11, 2011I've done this so many times before but I can't seem to get it working!! All I'm trying to do is in the JavaScript at the top change a span tag to whatever the current window location is but it doesn't work!

When admin chooses to delete a page from his site via this link:

Before this actually gets processed, i would like to alert admin, with a box, asking if he is sure or not, so he gets the option to regret his choise. onClick="(return confirm('Are you sure you want to delete the page?'))" function.
I have ASP code that displays form variables for x number of users.
Depending on the radio button they click, I highlite some text in red
over another form variable to show that it's mandatory. I use a <span>
tag for the text and a Javascript function to change the text color of
that user's mandatory field.
My Javascript call passes (i) to show which user I'm talking about but
the problem is I don't know how to change that user's text color.
Here's my function

As you see, I'm not using the parameter "num" so it only works for the
first user. I need to know how to make it dynamic...I've tried
