I've got 2 div's and the first one has a form in it.I want to create a table with the results of the form results in the second div. It currently erases the page to create the table
I don't use js too much, but for this job, I need to use it
I want to create a table dynamically. Here is the working code.[code]This table is always left alignment.Suppose I create another table which has 3x3 cells.Now I want to insert the first 2x2 table into the middle cell of the second table.I am not sure how to get the position of the cells and how to change the javascript code?

<TD><a href="#" onClick="javascript:AddElement('someVal',
'someOtherval');return false;">Click ME</a></TD>
No problems there, I have a function :
function AddElement(someval, i) {

I am able to create a row dynamically with 3 cells(i.e column). In my 3rd cell i need to add another row. Is it possible to acheive it. I am using Java script for it. This is the table structure:
[Code]...
Here's a snippet:
canvases[i] = document.createElement('canvas');
canvases[i].style.width = '3px';
canvases[i].style.height = '100%';
canvases[i].getContext("2D");
canvases[i].fillRect(1,0,1,table_height);
I'm trying to dynamically create a canvas element. Later in the script it gets attached to the DOM, and this works fine if the last two lines are missing. I end up with a canvas element that is 3px wide and 100% of the containing div tall. However, the last two lines make it crash, with the error report 'canvases[i].fillRect is not a function'.
If I change the last two lines to:
var drawing = canvases[i].getContext("2D");
drawing.fillRect(1,0,1,table_height);
It says 'drawing is null'. Something seems to be going wrong with the getContext bit, because setting the height and width work fine. It behaves the same if I append the canvas element to the DOM before trying to do the drawing as well. This is in FF4.0.1 with a xhtml1-strict.dtd doctype and valid html.
Can any one tell me the better and professional way to dynamically add row to an HTML table. Currently I am using insertRow() function.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a table on my website displaying a list of members details. I would like to create a script where when a button is actioned, the table can be downloaded in a CSV file.
I have found an example using Excel, but it needs to be CSV as this script will be ran on a linux server.
I'm trying to create an associative array in javascript from within the loop that sets up my html table. I can't get my head around assigning the associative key-value pair (probably not the best way of putting it). I've written the below in php. What's the equivalent in javascript? The => is the part that's baffling me.
PHP Code:
$test_array[] = array ([INDENT]'seller_id'=>$seller_details[$column]['seller_id'],
'products_id' => $item_details[$idval]['products_id'],
'shipping_price' =>$item_details[$idval]['shipping_price'])[/INDENT]
I'm trying to output an HTML page from a simple XML file, but I need to offer this as a service from a website, so users can browse and find the XML file on their local hard drives, and then generate an HTML page.
I think there are some security issues with HTTP not being able to access local files (ie. C: emp.xml) because it doesn't work when I browse to a local file from the website (files on servers work fine). Is there any other way to pass an XML file from local to a website?
I'm using the following javascript to load the XML file.
var xmlDoc=new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLDOM")
xmlDoc.async="false"
xmlDoc.load(filepath)
I want to change the content of <TD> tag of a HTML table sorted by alphabets(A-Z) in a different HTML table using javascript?
View 2 Replies View RelatedAt this point I have been able to add the row. But what I want to do and am having trouble with is alternating the row colour to the dynamically added row element.
Sample of code I am using:
Code:
var tbody = document.getElementById('tableItems');
var row = document.createElement("tr");
var remainder = tbody.rows.length % 2;
if(remainder) {
row.setAttribute("class", "rowLightGreen");
}
var td1 = document.createElement("td");
td1.appendChild(document.createTextNode(qty));
td1.setAttribute("class","qty");
row.appendChild(td1);
tbody.appendChild(row);
One thing that puzzles me, is that even after adding a row the table my table.rows.length still = 0.
Does anyone know how I can determine the appropriate amount of rows so that I can apply the appropriate class?
Or is there just something blatantly wrong in my approach?
how I would dynamically add another table once text fields in the existing table is clicked on. So pretty much what I have is a table with 5 textboxes lined up horizontally in the first row along with couple of buttons in the second row. What I want is that once one text box is clicked, another table like the one above is created and appears below that initial table. So this is the inital table that should be replicated on each click:
<table>
<tr>
<td><input type="text" /></td>
<td><input type="text" /></td>
<td><input type="text" /></td>
<td><input type="text" /></td>
<td><input type="text" ></td>

i'm sorry if this question has already been asked, but I searched for the term 'create element' on the jQuery Google Groups and didn't find the answer. I basically want to create html dynamically and be able to add it to my webpage. Suppose I have the following html:

I have a page with a button and a container. When i click on the button, it should redirect to a page where we can create a new customer. On the new customer form ,I have textboxes, radio buttons ,buttons amongst others.What i wanna do is that instead of redirecting to that page. I wanna dynamically create a div with all the controls required in the Container i have on my page itself. So each time the user click the Add New Customer button, on the same page, the textboxes and all other controls is created dynamically.

I'm trying to create an unordered list dynamically and then turn it into jQuery UI tabs... I think I'm having problem with syntax here, I managed to create the list and turn it into the widget, but those tabs don't look right, they have the outline of the widget but the content doesn't have actual tabs, so my guess is it only 'kind of worked'
$
(
"#doc3"
).
append

is this the way to do it? (for now its just the test, eventually i want to use for loop to create the list and pull data from an array)
I have a form where a user enters a number in a text box (txtTickets). When that number is entered, I need to create an equal number of select boxes. I've found code examples which show how to dynamically add or delete options from a select box, but I have found no examples which deal with this specific scenario. The select options do not depend on user input -- that is, I do not need to populate it dynamically. I need to create them dynamically. Has anyone created something similar to this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have this nice little script that on a static html table changes the color of a <tr when hovered over
I have switched this table to dynamically created (ie from a jquery ajax call) and I lost this functionality
I have changed functionality over about 20 scripts yesterday & today and I had a little problem with a datepicker which kevin answered and this one

Is there something stopping this working, i'm dynamically adding a row to a table, then if they click the new row (or any row in the table) it should disappear...but it isnt working?

var supPartNo = $(this).next().next().text();

I am trying to create portlets that dynamically load their content (usinq jQuery). My first approach was to leave the header + footer + decorations of the portlet OUTSIDE of the dynamically loadable content. It worked just fine but I had to abandon that approach so that I could use the same code both for statically- and dynamically-loaded content (e.g. when no AJAX support was available). So far so good.
Now to my problem: I use the following code for loading my dynamic content
The loading works fine, but after the dynamic content has been loaded I can not seem to get access to it using jQuery!
Short description: Line 3 clears the content (I know! There are better solutions!) Line 4 loads the content Line 6 dumps the data on the console; this is for debuging only, so that I can establish that the correct content is loaded
After the data is properly loaded I did expect to be able to find it by traversing the DOM tree in traditional jQuery fashion (like in Line 10). However, dumping the contents of the 'tag' shows it containing no content at all; it is empty even though the browser renders the expected new result. I thought: Well! The browser holds two copies of the DOM tree; one that is the original page and one that is the modified content used for rendering". Therefore I attempted to manipulate the loaded content within the function (Line 8). The content is visible there, that I have established in Line 6. But I do not know how to access it jQuery-style.
(Why am I trying to modify the loaded content? I want to inject a title row with various decorations and clickable content.)
I'm using three elements and jQuery to create a scrollable information element with a sliding animation (similar to this. I'm running into issues when resetting those three elements to prepare for the next prev/next animation, however. The issue is in my logic - jQuery's selectors will reverse themselves using the code I have.
Javascript Code:
Original - javascript Code
$('#name.current').removeClass('current').addClass('prev');
$('#name.next').removeClass('next').addClass('current');
$('#name.prev').removeClass('prev').addClass('next');
$('#name.current').removeClass('current').addClass('prev');$('#name.next').removeClass('next').addClass('current');$('#name.prev').removeClass('prev').addClass('next');
As you can see, the last step will always reverse the first step These elements do need to be reset in one way or another so that the information can be loaded appropriately (from an XML file). and then animated again.
I have a feeling this is going to get ugly quick but here goes. I havetable rows with dates (IE: Sunday, January 1, 2011). I need to be able to "clone" the rows with this caveat. I need to recalculate the number of rows based on a day/week combination.. ex: September 1st 2011 falls on a Thursday so my pattern would look like this:
[Code]...
I have a table with onw row and one column.I have set class for column also written function for click event for class.Now added table row dynamically and set same class.But click event works only for existing row not for newly added row.
