JQuery :: Can CSS Display State Of DIV Being Monitored Or Else?

Can the div report back that its css display state got changed to none? Not sure whether I am making much sense since reckon most events are triggered by user action and not the change of css display status. The idea is basically that a staticpositioneddiv shown on several pages but not others, caused by css set display:none. During hiding the div should change its state and return to the previous state when being displayed again. Is it possible to bind an event to the change of the css display state instead of user action such as clicks?

Currently, I'm using the following code to have some divs on my site show and hide from the content (not just toggling visibility):

What I want to do is have the div appear as if it is sliding in, instead of just appearing (similar to WindowsXP effect). If this isn't possible, is it possible to just "slide" the content that's below the div down by setting the height of the div to 0, set it to display but not visible, and then use js to gradually increase it's height, and then display?

I am attempting to make a menu that has a background image that changeswhen you rollover or click a menuitem. I've got the hover effect working fine with CSS, but am trying to implement the click event via jquery with the following:
CSS:

My process is to reset the entire menu to the inactive state, then switch on the active state for the item that was clicked. Eventually, the item that was clicked will display its corresponding body section as well. I've tried using the CSS pseudo-class "active", but since the entire div is the link, that is unavailable. I've also tried multiple variations of addClass/removeClass, toggleClass, and setAttribute/removeAttributebut nothing hasworked so far.

To say I'm new to JavaScript is a bit of an understatement so bear with me. I have a site set up with a variety of layers of toggles. When you enter the site all of the items are collapsed and you click the headings to expand. Each of the toggle-able items have ids. It works great for users who start at the homepage.
However, when I send people to any of the inner topics, all they see is the initial collapsed state of the site. I want to be able to provide a URL that will set the toggle to open, and show all of the content for that section on entry.
Here is my code and js, can anyone point me in the right direction?

Is there a way to tell the state of slideToggle? My problem is I have two buttons that change a div and also toggle it open/close. But if you click one button then click the other, the changes take effect and then it will close. So is there something like if(slideToggle() == open) or something along those lines?

I'd like to fadeIn an image when I click on an li element, but I don't seem to have the initial state of the image correct because I can't make it appear. I think the basic code is ok because if I change fadeIn to fadeOut and remove my attempts to make the image (img#bullet1Tip) invisible initially, I can click and fadeOut the image. This is my code:

I have a half dozen bookmarks for rounded corner plugins, but am wondering if there's a "state of the art" plugin kicking any booty on that these days? What I'd *really* like is to just be able to set -moz border radiuses in CSS and have a plugin magically use those to create rounded corners in IE and Safari (IE mainly... using excanvas or something with it is fine, too).

i have used it for creating a table with Sorting and Paging. The table works perfectly without any issues per se except what i need now. I have used the following files: jquery-1.3.2.js, JQtable.js, and jquery.tablesorter.pager.js.
My problem is that there are links in 1 column of the grid. If a user clicks on the link, the user is redirected to another page. But when the user clicks on Back button, the Jquery Table always loads on the 1st Page with default settings and does not load the page on which the row wa present.
i need to go back to the same page of the table (from where the link has been clicked) with the same size for paging and sort order on clicking Back or a Link to the Page.
So in short - is there any pugin which we can use witht the jquery table to save the state and use it to load the table accordingly on Page Load?

I have been trying to find an answer to this question. I am trying to create a nav bar using jquery that uses images and rollovers. So there is an on state, off state and clicked state for three different tabs/images.
example: Home | Support | About
The problem I¢m having is getting the clicked/on state to turn off the other image/tab if it was already on/clicked state. What keeps happening is each tab stays active when clicked instead of toggling off and on.

I've been researching a good effective way to do 3 state image rollovers with jQuery, but haven't found anything that's workable with an AJAX style page. The page consists of a ul based menu that shows and hides new content depending on the selection. What I'm attempting to achieve is once the image has been clicked on, for the "over" state to remain until a new choice is made from that menu, aka another image has been clicked on. Once another image was clicked on, it would then display the active state and the previous would not.

This function is getting called as it should. the line "if ($("lumode").attr('checked'))" is not detecting the state of the checkbox properly. It always returns false so mode never gets set to 'all'. (#lumodestate is a button I am using to test the function).

I have an Accordion working. To advance from section to section, I want to use both click on the Accordion bar or click a button in the section. This works so long as it is a straight pass through. (section=section+1). If the user goes back, out of sequence, to change a field in a prior section, things 'get out of whack'. I need some way to have a variable in the HTML (that does not show to the user) that identifies the Accordion section and pass it to the Accordion activate method. I currently have this in the HTML of each Accordion section.

I'm stuck with a simple jquery accordion script that is[URL]..The problem is that there are links inside my divs that brings to another page where the same accordion menu should be included and left opened at the same state like the previous page (hope to be enough clear. The script I'm using will always close all the accordion divs upon the second page load. Issue with Internet Explorer 7 and the Hover State of this div (highlighted in red).[url]
To view an example of what's going on. If I try simply using jquery's mouseover() function without a mouseout () it actually works in the red area, so for some reason a mouseout() is always getting triggered in the left area of the left most box and there's nothing different in that box's css vs. the others.

I have a page with a simple form: 3 hidden fields and 3 selects. I load the data for the first select via Ajax on domready. I have "change" event handlers for all 3 fields. If I select something in the first select, the corresponding data gets loaded into the second select via Ajax etc. So it's a "cascade" of selects. When an option in the 3rd select is being selected, I save the values of all 3 selected options in the hidden fields, and create a button for submitting the form. Until here everything works fine. When a users hits the submit button, he is being forwarded to a results page. Now, when the user hits the back button, and the page with the form gets loaded again, I check if the first hidden field has a value. If so, I try to fill all the form fields with the values the user had entered (i.e. the selections he made), which means I make 3 Ajax calls (to have all the data available), and mark the options the user had selected as selected. That works fine in FF 3 and 3.5, Safari 4, as well as IE 7 right now. IE 6 only display the data of the first select (as if the other two Ajax calls aren't successful or something - no errors though), while Opera 9 doesn't seem to remember the values of the 3 hidden fields (same issue with IE 8, but I'm using IE Tester, which is not always reliable). The html and jquery code (leaving out all the details) look like this:

I am still experimenting but I have a href which runs a function with a delay of 1 seconds, in that time; jQuery is also playing a 1 second animation. The new page is then loaded successfully. However, when I navigate with the browser Back button, how would I make sure that the initial page is reset to it's inital state as at the moment it appears as it would after the animation (which occurs when the href is clicked) has played.

I have a little problem with saving a single checkbox state (check or uncheckd) for a session with jQuery.
I did find similar problems and solutions but i couldn't apply the help or solutions to my situation. So i give it a little try here..
Good to know is that I'm new to jQuery.
What i would like to achieve
I have one single checkbox that, when checked, will unhide some div's. When you uncheck the checkbox the div's will hide again. This is sort of an "Option". This works fine with the piece of jQuery code i have now.
The problem is that when a user checks the checkbox and then loads another page (/page2) the checkbox is unchecked again. I would like to store the checkbox state for a session. So users don't have to check the checkbox again, and again after browsing to the next page (if they wish to use this option).[code]...
