JQuery :: Can't Get .get() Or .post() To Load Next Page?
Aug 9, 2010
So what I thought was going to be really turns out to not be working for some reason. I'm setting up a shell for my new site. So I'm just trying to get some of my pages linked together for testing the site flow and feel. I want to do this with javascript (jquery) because when I start passing session data that's how I'll be handling this.
So I have this simple line in my js code...
$('#submit').click(function(){
$.post("plans.html");
I'm a total JS/jQuery newbie, and I'm having a problem using jQuery's load() to POST data to a remote PHP script and rewrite a DIV with whatever the server sent back.
Using a proxy in between, I can see that the JS script isn't sending anything, so I guess there's something wrong in the JS code I send to the browser [code]...
On a page, I have a javascript json output that is generated through PHP. So, for instance, it would look like this:
Code: var upny_iniresults = { // "q_id" : "65977", // "q_txt" : "What is your favorite genre of Music?", "q_cdata" : [
And then PHP code that generates the JSON. I loop through a question, scan for the results (survey site) and display it as json data. Works perfectly. Basically, the JSON is important because I have existing functions that work with that data (display survey results of that question/etc)Here's the question.How can I generate the same Json output, so it can be read by my other jquery functions (Created by a previous developer, I am a PHP guy) by using Jquery POST as well as a query string. The idea is something like:
Code: $.post("create_json_results_for_this_question.php", $("#firstform").serialize()); # Firstform is the name of the form that is submitted.
So, would a jquery POST allow the JSON to load in my browser (which I will activate during a click function) just as my PHP json output works or is there another way? I just want to simulate the same effect, but be able to USE the jquery querystring that I have, which is:
$("#firstform").serialize());
because this lets me return survey results of a previously submitted question.My last q. was too convoluted and I realized my dilemma is just the json output.
I have a single webpage that contains information on all 50 U.S. states. There are 50 links at the top to jump down to the state you want, and at the bottom of the information for each state a Back to Top link.
I'm making the Back to Top link into something more complex, and it will require three or four lines of code.
So that I don't have to repeat the code 50 times, and create a burden when I need to edit it, I want to place it in a .js file and call it x. Then below the information for each state I'll simply have:
Does calling code from a .js file 50 times slow down the page load? Which method would load faster?
Code: $("#save_photos_all_continue").click(function() { event.preventDefault(); var $black_white_all = $("#black_white_all").is(':checked'); var $color_all = $("#color_all").is(':checked'); var $other_all = $("#other_all").is(':checked'); [Code]...
In Google Chrome it works fine but in Mozilla/5.0 it actually goes to the save_edits page instead of just using the post and staying on the original page.
Is it faster/more beneficial to have two snippets of code be generated by php at 2 different urls and then have a load function for each url? Or have the two snippets on one page, surrounded by id's and then load them that way?
I have some javascript code that does some GET and POST requests that are required. Sometimes it doesn't fully execute for the user because they close or click onto another page before the javascript is completely done. Is there anyway I can let all of the javascript load first and slow down the actual page load of the website.
I use jQuery load function to load another page into part ofcurrent page in asp.net. it is work correctly but insecond page i haveone instance ofCKEditor that is not loaded in first page after use load function.
I know the question begs a question. Why? I have no control over the DB or the Forms. Using 3rd Party based web app. I have this: $(document).ready(function() {
when i load page it does nothing only blank page, may have code in wrong place but not sure so can someone show me a working example so i can find out what i'm doing wrong also i would like the part of page to refresh evey 120 seconds is this possibe with jquery?
I'm integrating a small php form into my website using this:
jQuery ( "#myID" )
[Code]....
Everything works fine until I press the submit button. Of course the whole page is beeing reloaded and the submitted POST data is on my webpage but not INSIDE the php-script (which is integrated via "load"). How can I submit POST-data to my myscript.php file?
Is there a way to post from a .net page with server form controls using the jQuery .ajax method? The .net page is expecting the server contols so I'm not sure how to handle it so when I serialize() the form it doesn't know what to do with it.
I trying to make a simple image gallery, where I have several radio button groups to filter the search results. I have tried this code to create an associative array, but the array comes up as blank.
I'm new to using JQuery and I've been searching everywhere to be able to post XML to a WebMethod on an aspx page in a site. I'm sure it can be done but I just have no idea how.
I am trying to use JQuery to submit a form without reloading the page. Although this works well with thejQuery Form Plugin on a standalone page I need it to work on a page I've loaded with AJAX.[code]...
I'm struggling with a script for an e-commerce site.When the user clicks the add to cart button they are currently taken to a PHP shopping cart page, but the client wants them to stay on the same page after they press the button and get notified that an item has been added to the cart.The add to cart button is a form submit button, because there is also a quantity field for each item. I would have cracked this by now but there are multiple add to cart buttons on each page and when I submit the form only the data from the first form in the page is sent to the cart page.Here's a dummy version the JavaScript:
Code:
$(document).ready(function(){ $('.subbtn').click(function(){ $('<p id="add">Added To Cart</p>').insertAfter(this).fadeOut(3000);[code].....
At the moment I've got it set so that AJAX returns information to the page (just so I know it works), but this won't happen on the actual page.So, as far as I can tell, I need a way of POSTING $(this).parent(); $('[name=quantity]').val(), but I can't seem to find the correct syntax.
Anyone have any code examples or tutorials on how to implement POST's on the pages that each of the jQuery's Ajaxified tabs loads? Mainly looking for examples of the tab content pages post'ing/get'ing params.
here's an example of the stand-alone page that functions normally:[URL]...(select Oct. 8th, 2009 to see example or POST in action)
but when popped into an Ajax jQuery tab, the POST doesnt work[URL]...As you can see, on the second example, when the page POST's, it's no longer running in the tab. How do i get it to just refresh/POST within the tab?
I have some trouble with my app. User enters his login&pass, they are being checked on server using ajax, and if they're ok, i wanna open new page, which'll set cookies and session vars, but i have an universal script, and I need request something like universalScript?mode=login (mode is GET) and some POST parameters such as login and pass, besides it must be new page, not ajax, Some ideas?
This is my first post, and I'm only just learning jqury/JavaScript.
i have a form I'd like to send via POST method to a second php page, i have all the validation etc working fine, I'm struggling with the on Submit handler.. once the form is validated...
can anyone please tell/direct me how i can post this form to a php page that will do the data insertion?[code]...
