View 9 Replies View RelatedI just started using jQuery, but i can't get it working. On the index.php page I want a search form, that post's to search.php. Following next, I want that the html of search.php (which will only be a table with the results), is show into the 'results' div in the index.php.
This is the code im using:
<script type="text/javascript">

The alert's are for debugging, but none of them show's up.
I have some basic HTML knowledge but rely pretty heavily on WYSIWYG editors (dreamweaver). I think this might be more of a PHP question and not necessarily require a js, but here it is. What I am trying to do is learn how to build a directory in a site that allows any visitor to the site to add A) the company's name, B) the site URL, and C) possibly a brief description. Ideally, the site would also have a drop down menu to select the category in which to post it.

My question is if i used jquery post method to change some div content, than this new div won't have mouseover and mouseout affect anymore, is there anyway to achieve it. Is that needed to trigger ready function again? Another question is can anyone teach me how to add click and dblclick event to the same div, because if i add both of them then it won't trigger dblckick event.

I am writing a small data entry screen that will post the form data to a page and return a message. But i cannot get the Success or Error functions working properly.
Here's the code where strData is the posted querystring of:
I'm not sure whether it should be in a form and using the onsubmit or click of a button.
I have a form in a webpage that I want to submit
and get the result back without reloading the page.
I've seen many times ppl using text/x-www-form-urlencode but I was
wondering if it was possible somehow to submit the form element
directly so I wouldn't have to process the form to put it in a string.
So I load a form through a XMLHttpRequest and set the content of a div to the returned data, which contains a form, problem is I can't submit this form when it is requested through Javascript, but I can submit it when it is standalone.
I am thinking that this is probably a security setting in the browser to prevent XXS attacks? But I am not sure, why doesn't it work? It is nothing fancy just a regular old HTML POST form and a Javascript AJAXey request.
I am trying to validate a form field using a $.post request and am having an issue with timing because of the synchronous property of the post I assume. If I put in an alert, it works fine because the post has returned in time to stop the form submission. Here is the original way I did it but the form is submitting before I can send the return = false.

can anybody help me in writing a javascript function which opens a
popup window with the target URL when the link "POST Request" is
clicked..
Points to note:
The HTML DOESNT and SHOULDNT HAVE A FORM TAG.
The URL data should be sent as POST and not GET..i.e the search
parameters should not be showin in the address bar when the page is

I have a lot of tables and to get it to post some of the data into a form.
So say i have a location and a start date and end date, and when i select a radio and click submit the location and dates get put into the corresponding field in the form.
However i have a lot of tables and a lot of different options but want it to go to only one form. this form can be on a seperate page, but was wondering if its possible to get the form to appear on the same page, underneath the table.
