JQuery :: Autocomplete With RAD Controls - Telerik
Dec 24, 2010
I am able to attach to a Telerik text box and autocomplete works fine when i am selecting a result and pressing ENTER. However, when i am selecting a result and clicking on it with a mouse, the selection populates the textbox and then quickly gets erased.
I have been working on this code in the last few hours with my boss and we are completely stumped. We are currently writing our companies new site, and we have come across a problem. We built a mini samples user control that shows on a few of our pages, that works with no problem. In that user control, we implemented a Rad Window Control by Telerik.
We have the auto populate thumbnail images and full size images from a database during the ItemDataBound event on our Repeater, this too works fine with no problem. When we first implemented the window, we added anchors to the thumbnails in the code behind so when a user clicks on a thumbnail from the parent page the thumbnail shows up in the window scroll bar at the bottom when the window opens. This worked fine except when you click on a thumbnail with the window closed the parent page would scroll half way down and then the window would open. The scroll function worked fine and had no problems with it, but we wanted to fix the parent page issue.
We decided to do accomplish the same task but with javascript. Since it only meant a few changes we thought it would be no problem, but we are stumped like never before. The javascript code we are using works fine, but when we try to implement it in the window, it doesn't do squat. We suspected that the javascript was being called before the page was loaded but even when using onload in the body tag it still doesn't do anything. We then added a literal and populated the text in the PreRender event but still no avail.
I made a test page that had the exact same javascript functions as the samples page but with hard coded content rather than data binded. This page works exactly as it should, but the samples page doesn't. I have already looked into the Telerik support forums but can't find anything near related to our issue so I thought I would stop by here as a last resort. I hope that we are just missing something and is an easy fix, rather than having to rewrite everything but if it's needed then it has to be done.
So here are my questions for you :Can you look at our code and see if we are missing something. Maybe a fresh pair of eyes will do the trick.Would going back to the anchor system be better and just try to fix the parent page scrolling issue?
I have posted our samples page and the test page that I made.
Does anyone have a library or patch to call a handler if a user leaves an autocomplete field without choosing one of the autocomplete options - i.e. they've entered free text. I'm working with an app that populates multiple fields from a single auto-complete value, and our latest requirement is to clear out a bunch of fields if the user's entered something manually - rejecting autocomplete suggestions. My initial attempts at hooking into onkeyfoo and onblur haven't lead anywhere productive, and I'm hoping someone else has managed to overcome the gnarly event and timing dependencies involved with onkeyfoo and blur being used for standard autocomplete behaviour.
I have found two jquery plugins and i am trying to combine an action but to no avail. what i want to do is after selecting an item from the auto complete box i would like for it then to do a change function and retrieve details. Here are my 2 pieces of code.
Is there a way to set the Cycle prev/next hover controls to always be on. In other words, I don't want my users to have to hover over the photo to see the prev/next button controls.
This is sateesh from Softpal Technalogies Pvt.Ltd. I am using Jquery. I got one problem my ASP drop down controls are over lap on the JQuery Div. How can i over come that problem. Can you give sloution for that.
what selector syntax I would use to refer to all input and textarea controls, but not buttons? (In other words, all form controls except button and submit.)
I'm still trying to get to grips with jQuery syntax,I'm working on an accordion-style menu and I'm struggling to get a hide behaviour to work.
Basically I want to hide all of the controls within my specified parent control which have an ID starting with "accordionBody_" except the first one. (So that the first pane is expanded and the rest are hidden on load.) I'm using the following:
I have a page with a button and a container. When i click on the button, it should redirect to a page where we can create a new customer. On the new customer form ,I have textboxes, radio buttons ,buttons amongst others. What i wanna do is that instead of redirecting to that page. I wanna dynamically create a div with all the controls required in the Container i have on my page itself. So each time the user click the Add New Customer button, on the same page, the textboxes and all other controls is created dynamically.
How do I use jQuery to determine which textbox control is being clicked and then show the div that relates to that TextBox? Again, both the textbox along with the div=command are all repeating. It could repeat more than just twice as showing in the example above. I need the jQuery to only show the div=command that the user has clicked on the TextBox for commenting.
I'm optimistically hoping that someone has already created a plugin for my desired effect, I think I've seen it in the past but can't recall where..
Essentially, I have a 'website'/'book' being loaded by an iOS app in a uiwebview 'browser', which uses floating images for controls (back/contents/next)
I would really like for the controls to fade out when no scrolling has occurred for say 5 seconds, and fade back in when the screen is touched or scrolled.
I want to validate my forms when clicking only on submit button. Here is my code.
[Code]...
The problem is it fires the validation to every button in the form. how can I do the validation only for the submit button and skip the validation to other button clicks?
I am working with ASP.net and VB as my code behind. I tried solving this in normal JavaScript with no luck. I have a textbox that when it receives focus I want to make the next 3 controls visible. I have tried the included code with no luck. Here is the Head and Jquery.
I'm building all my forms dinamically, calling a web service that returns me the field type, description and a set of rules for validation, all in JSON format. No matter how hard I tried, calling rules("add", ...) after adding the control to DOM does not work since I don't get the right format for the rules. Has anyone tried doing that (returning the rules with JSON and adding to a dynamic control)?
I have a slider set up that navigates fine using 'next' and 'prev' buttons. There are 14 slides and I have 5 buttons at top that I need to point to specific slides in the layout. Content is static and there will always be 14 slides, and the links will always link to the same slide. So I can manually set IDs for those slides and I can also manually designate each link to go to whatever slide... but I'm not sure how to move forward. My existing slider code is very basic:
I am building some video player controls and when I mouse over/out the volume icon, I want the volume slider to appear and disappear. On the mouseout, I want it delayed so what I did was this: $("#mutebtn").mouseover( function() { $("#slider").fadeTo("fast",1); }); $("#mutebtn").mouseout( function(){ $("#slider").fadeTo("fast",0).delay(2000); }); It delays but it puts the delay on the mouseover. So naturally I put the delay on the mouseover and then the delay was on the mouseout which is the correct behavior.
What I am trying to do is create a slider that auto scrolls 3-4 images from right to left with no controls. And if the user hovers over it, it stops so they can read the content that is featured. Everywhere I search there are bunch of plugins i.e. easyslider, s3slider, etc. that have tons of code that is greek to me. I tried using the easyslider code and changing things around for it to do what I want, but I was unsuccessful.
I have autocomplete showing up where I type into the textbox but when I try to select one with my mouse or keyboard it does not fill in the textbox with the option selected. Code is below. < script type="text/javascript"> $( function() {[code]....
