JQuery :: Fade Out Image Links/controls When Not Scrolling?
Jul 26, 2011
I'm optimistically hoping that someone has already created a plugin for my desired effect, I think I've seen it in the past but can't recall where..
Essentially, I have a 'website'/'book' being loaded by an iOS app in a uiwebview 'browser', which uses floating images for controls (back/contents/next)
I would really like for the controls to fade out when no scrolling has occurred for say 5 seconds, and fade back in when the screen is touched or scrolled.
This is a really awesome script that I'm sure all of you can put to use if you haven't yet heard of it. However, I'm trying to get it to fade a background image on my css styled navigation for my a:hover. Here is the script with a little simple tutorial on how to set it up: [URL] My only other knowledge is in PHP, so after about 2 hours of fail in this client-side language
This is the link to my site so far: [URL] You can see the script working as it is on my little yellow MW logo on the right side of the navigation. So in my scenario, I am looking to fade button.png to button-hover.png (both repeating on the x axis).
I am trying to customize the navigation on The Simple Controls Gallery.so that instead of the play buttons being displayed the anchor links are the ones that are being cycled through.immediately received an error indicating that an element had not been called correctly. How do I call those anchor links correctly.I place the javascript call on the links themselves which provided me with the functionality of pressing each one to make the gallery advance forward or backwards, but how would I make it so that as the images rotate the anchor links hightlight giving an indication of what the current image link is?
And I need to fadeIn and fadeOut the links in side the "rnd-prd" class as a slideshow and make a delay 2 seconds between the fadeIn and fadeOut Effect the example of the jquery effect I need is [URL]but I need it in jquery way.
have this Multiple Image Viewer very similar, -in fact almost identical- to the one in the main page of economist.com It uses the following code and its woriking nice,
Code: function switch_product_img(divname, divnumber, divtotal) {for (var i=1; i<=divtotal; i++) { var showDivName = divname + '_' + i;
I am php developer,[URL]... a fade in fade out effect (image + text) which is working very nice but Can i do this like with text on top(not on an image)and image below it like header : text below that an image
example <table> <tr><td> header for image</td></tr> <tr><td> image here</td></tr> </table>
Can you pls suggest any other script to display an html page or pages like this just the way i had defined above in fade in fade out ....
The objective is to have an image fade to another one progressivly while the mouse is over, when its not it fades back to the original, whether or not it faded to the target completely or not. That is, if it takes 1 second to fade completely to the other image, and you take your mouse off it at 0.5 seconds, it will begin to fade back to the original. I have a problem where I want to give this ability to multiple images (thumbnails) on a page, without having reams and reams of code and instead just have one function accomadate any number of images.
on the top of the page with the pictures scrolling with news and links inside of them without using flash. like with ajax or something? and if it can be done... how would i go about it?
I was wondering if its possible (or prefferably if anyone has heard of a plugin that does this) to use jquery to slideshow a repeated image across the width of a webpage. IE to take a 50x50 background image that is repeat-x and have the looped image look like its scrolling from left to right at variable speeds?
Baseline: What I have is a string of 5 images that have .hover functions attached to them. so when you hover over a caption DIV pops up over it. But, the whole img/caption div is wrapped in a href tag to that when you click it will go to X URL. So 5 images, wrapped with a URL, and have a hover function to show caption over image. What I need to to is have these 5 Images auto scroll from right to left, 100% width, so it seems like the images are scrolling on the screen then off the screen. But, what I would like is for one of the images (lets say img1.jpg) to start out at the center of the page (50% of the width). Then have a time set so that within (x)milliseconds (lets say 5000) image 2 (img2.jpg) will scroll to 50% of the page and img1.jpg gets push to the left.
So 5 images, wrapped with a URL, hover function to show caption, scroll from right to left, scroll to 50% width for 5 seconds then move on to the next image in the string of 5 pushing the images from right to left. I would like "hot spots" for user control. Hover over the right hot spot and the function speeds up by 50%, so it will take 2500milliseconds to perform the scrolling function. I would like to have hover right to scroll right 50% faster, hover left to scroll 50% faster and when you are hovering over the image pausing the function. Also, I would like to have it "endless" so if the user keeps scrolling one direction it will just have a loop of the 5 images.
So in the end: 5 images- Wrapped with a URL Hover to show caption DIV Scroll on a timer- Start with img1.jpg at 50% page width (with endless loop of images img5.jpg would be on the left of it, img2.jpg would be on the right if it) Have a function that auto scrolls to the next image in line after (x)milliseconds Endless loop of the images User control of the scroll time using hot spots Left/right 50% faster (2500 milliseconds) Hover on center image pause auto scroll function; hover off resumes the auto scroll
This is what I have so far, but I really think it is in the wrong direction: [URL]. I'm not really looking for a "scroll" pugin. I'm really trying to do is display this image at (x) time at (x) location then move on to the next image and perform the same task. What really interested me in Thomas's plugin is the hot spots, but I bet there is a simpler way. Really if you take the hover function out of the equation all I want is the "right"/"left" button is perform the task (x) times faster, then with the "center" button just pause the timed function.
I have 3 thumbs, and when I click on one of the thumb, the background of my site has to fade to the same image as the thumb. This code is working for me, but it is fading to white first, and after it fades to the new background.
function changeback(backname){ var newsrc = "<?=SITE_WEBDIR?>img/bg/"+backname; $('#backimg').fadeOut(300, function(){ $(this).attr('src',newsrc).bind('onreadystatechange load', function(){
[Code].....
I want to let the background fade to the new background directy, and not a white background first.
I couldn't find an exact example or of a way to do this. I've been struggling on this for hours. All I'm trying to do is fade in those divs after a certain time has passed (like 5secs after the page loads)
So I wrote a code to simply display an image when a link is rolled over:
[URL]
The problem (which you may have already noticed) is that when you rollover the two links fast, the images appear below each other. What I want to do is find a way to make the images appear on top of each other so it will look more like they're crossfading without changing the shape of the site.
I'm looking for a little snippet that will fade a new image if you click on the image.
So i have an image in a div, when you click on the image a new image will fade in, i have 3 images and and you can click as much as i you like, so it has to loop some way..
javascript and jquery ignorance. Im building a simple photo gallery and would like an image to fade in. I need the image to only fade in once the image has fully loaded.Here is what i have so far
I wrote a couple of lines of code to simply fade in an image when a user rolls over a link:
[URL]
The only problem (which you probably already noticed) is that when you rollover the links quickly, the image appears below the other for a quick second until it completely fades away. I want each image to appear on top of each other when the user rolls over a link fairly fast, so it doesn't change the shape of the website like that. In other words it will look like they crossfade pretty much.
At the end of my code below (9 lines up from thebottom) I have an image that fades in. I would like the sameimage to fade out after hover instead, but im unsure if this is possible due to the nature of my page.
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head>
I'm trying to use jQuery to produce something similar to this flash example [url]although I'd like the effect to be somewhat more controlled.
In a nutshell, what I'm trying to achieve is a 3 x 4 grid of (12) images which appears to load in a random order and then 1 by 1 (again in random order) fade out to be replaced by another image. I'd like the effect to be quite subtle, smooth and calming with the timing between image fades to be fairly even.
All images would be pulled from a folder on my webserver. I don't want the same image to be visible more than once at any time, although I don't mind repeating images as long as they're not already in the grid - hopefully that makes sense?
Ideally I'd like only one image to be changing at any given time with a pause before the next image starts to fade into new image.
The way I've been trying to tackle this so far is to use 12 different instances of a jquery image fade laid out in a CSS grid.
There are a few problems with my approach so far;
Doesn't appear random
Timing - multiple squares change at same time. (I only want one image to change at a time)
Same image often repeated at same time within grid
Its not long before a pattern emerges and you can tell which image will change next.
I'm sure this must be possibly, but my math or scripting skills aren't quite there yet.
I'm trying to create an effect where you click on a thumbnail image, and the link to the thumbnail will replace the main image, but fade it in. This is the code I'm currently using:
Basically, i've got a very large website as the client wanted a fancy horizontally scrolling one. As such the images/javascript effects take a little while to load.Basically i'd want an animated gif to act as a loading image and then once the website has completed loading the whole page fades in (this includes all images, text, javascript functions etc etcI can do it when loading an image but am stuck with how to do it for say a whole website.
