View 1 RepliesI am a PHP programmer and new to Javascript and jQuery and I have tried about 20 examples/tutorials and cannot seem to get even close to what I want.I have a form (PHP/MySQL) with a list of subjects I got from my database, and then create a set of radio buttons from that list. And based on what radio button they select, I need to pass that variable to a div (at least that's what I want to use) and then show a list of videos that match the radio buttons value. I don't care if its a get or post or other.I tried to use GET or POST so I can use that value for my PHP/MySQL lists.I am open to any suggestions/tutorials, etc.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an ASP.NET MVC web application, consisting of subcontrollers, each generating their specific html contained by divs.
As an example, on the same page this is generated (among other stuff):

and

textfields and ajax submit button
</div>
Now, the survey has a submit button in a Ajax.BeginForm, that does a partial update of the durvey div itself.
What I also want to do, is that if the submit button is clicked, not only the partial update occurs of the survey div, but I also want to get other partial data and display that in the trace div which is also on the page somewhere.
I tried to execute some jquery after the partial update, but apparently that code is not executed.
I'm trying to update a shopcart depending on radio button choice, the problem is when I'm submitting and want to go to the next page.
Imagine this, I'm on a page with 2 radio buttons, either u can pick A or B, depending on my choice the shopcart gets updated, and its placed in the bottom of the page, to that point everything works fine.But when I post from my form and get redirected to the next page it seems like my jquery function runs again and choose the first radio button even if i have the second selected when posting.$cart is the class object and i add the items with just a name and some price parameters.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a form with a list of subjects (radio buttons) that I get from my database with PHP, and I want to show a list of videos (also from my video table using PHP), based on which subject they choose.
I have tried multiple POST, GET methods with JavaScript examples, but cannot get it to work. I am not having any issues with the PHP getting either list, it is just getting the radio buttons to pass either the POST or GET data to JavaScript, and have it take that value so I can get the list from my database with PHP. I tried to use a div for the list of videos, and didn't have much success.
I have it set up so that there are three frames (frames and the use of javascript are encourage for practice) "bar" on the left with navigational options, "main" in the center where the body of the drill is presented, and "feedback" along the bottom where the feedback will appear.
My issue is that I have everything working except the form! I'm not sure how to make it so that upon clicking the submit button the feedback is presented in the "feedback" frame. This was suggested to me but isn't working, maybe I have a mistake somewhere? Or is there another way I can do this?

I can use the jQuery ajax function to grab all of the html from a remote page, and that's cool. What I would like to do is to grab only a particular element of the remote page, not the entire page. Is this possible? I've tried some variations of the ajax 'url' param, but I haven't gotten anything to work yet.

i am writing a script that will update a dropdown list based on the selection of a previous list. the script is run by a PHP script, so instead of posting the PHP, i will post an example client-side script. the hierachy is: category, sub category, brand (but sometimes there exists no sub category and the PHP script queries and adds brands instead) everything works correctly, except for one major issue: you can not change the selection of the third (brand) box this could be an easy fix for some coders, but i am not experienced in javascript and could really use some help. here is an example script, sorry it is so long

I would like the selected radio button's value to be inserted into the href of the link, and if the user selects a different radio button that this changes.

I have a place on my site that has a drop down box, with multiple options listed in them. I want the user to be able to select an option in the dropdown box and then hit the submit button. Anyways this works...But here is where I'm stuck:
When I load or refresh the page it is defaulted(checked) on the first radio button which is Email...but the JS script won't work until I click on the other so when not interacted they are both writeable.....
How can I have it defaulted to email and have the mail grayed out at page load or refresh?
When radio button "Owner_Regular_driver_the_same" = "yes" (select by default) then "Regular_driver_name" and "Regular_driver_ID_nr" must be disabled as per code in the script but after the page have been load the "Regular_driver_name" and "Regular_driver_ID_nr" is not disabled.
When click on "yes" radio button "Owner_Regular_driver_the_same" which is selected by default then the "Regular_driver_name" and "Regular_driver_ID_nr" fields are diabled.

I want to be able to click on a checkbox (or a radio button) and have it reload the page, but also keep the item selected. The code I currently have reloads the page but does not check the checkbox or select the radio button. The code is:

I'm trying to make it so that when a user clicks on a radio button, the image that is related to the radio button is displayed next to it (without reloading the page). At the moment all it shows is the image related to the currently saved option, which I'd like to keep on page load. Is this possible?
