Jul 28, 2010
I can't get this to work, but I'm trying to update the text into an iframe on the same page with a button, for a game I'm making, the battle messages when you attack.
Here is the html file with the button and onClick
I can't get this to work, but I'm trying to update the text into an iframe on the same page with a button, for a game I'm making, the battle messages when you attack.
what I have is a code containing 2 iframes inside a div.what I'd like to do is refresh one of the iframes when it's page recieves an update from another user.
perhapse I could load the page on the document load, and store those contents in a var.then have a code that will compair the remote page to the var every second or so.if the page compairs differently, update the var info and refresh the iframe.
I am just about finished the dice game but am having trouble doing the calculation where if a player wins then they double their venture. I am not too sure how the game stores what the user picks in their venture 100 or 200.
I am already subtracting their venture from the total when they initially make their venture. But if they win then I need to add back the venture to the total by 2. Not too sure how to do this. Do I use a new function. How can I tell which button the user chooses 100 or 200 and then add on that amount.
ery new to Jquery but really like what I'm seeing. Really improves the interface. Is this possible to achieve? Partial Page Update Without Having To Do An ASP Auto Post Back on a ASP control. I have <div id="documents"> An <asp:RadioButtonList id="selector" Class="tablecell"> When its checked, can I refresh the documents div only rather than the full page?
How can I position the game inside the I frame? I can do what ever I want with the iframe, but the content inside the frame won't position independently. I would like to position it absolutely inside the iframe. I just can't find the way. I just so you know this is a game I make in gamemaker and yoyo gave this code to zip and add the exe. I don't have a separate file for the game it appears to be part of the iframe.
Im trying to make a dice game. how to get started n stuff. Something that will create a random number b/w 1 n 6 and decide if the user is a winner. He will win only if the #s are equal
So i want a text box for the first number and text box for the second. a button to click to play the game(roll the dice) button to start over and reset all values textbox to display the # of tries(rolls) textbox 2 display the # of wins. Also i want toKeep track of the number of times the user rolls the dice and display this in the appropriate textbox and the number of times the user wins the game and display this in the appropriate textbox.
Well my friend helped me with this but he made 2 player i only want one player and i want the number of tries and win the user wins if the #s are equal and i want a start over button that resets everything. Also the max number i want is 6 and only one roll the dice button but 2 textboxes so if you get same # you win it should appear in alert and text box for tries and wins. Also, i am gonna have 2 pics one for the first textbox the other for the second both of the pics are gonna be dice and i am gonna have 12 pics but only 2 appear at a time so if a guy gets 5 the dice with the #5 appears and the other text gets 4 the dice with the # 4 appears
How would i go abouts putting a javascript code into a hidden iframe and then have it update new messages to another frame if there is a new message?
By message i mean it checks the database for a new message ( this is for a chat ) Its the javascript im not sure how to set up... If someone could point me in the right direction thatd be great.
when you have a page that contains an iframe, and then navigate inside the iframe, hitting the browsers back button will only affect the contents of the iframe and not the entire page. I've been searching all over for solutions and cant find one that works for my current implementation.
function ShowPage(frame) { frames[0].location = frame+'.html' frame.contentWindow.location.replace(newUrl); } [Code]...
In this game i have the letters as images and they are listed at the top in two rows.
This is the code
As this is not really the best way to do it, I was wondering if i could set the letter squares to be objects of a Button class. I just don't know how to do it.
I am trying to track links that are clicked on an "external" page that resides within my iframe.
I am able get the INITIAL value of the iframe .src, however this value does not update once the content has been updated by clicking the external link. It keeps the original value of .src..

I have a pageA containing a form the user my fill in partially. All data is stored into cookies. He follows a link to pageB that contains some of pageA.form inputs. If he adds or change form data cookies are instantly updated. What I need is if the user goes back (back browser button) to pageA, the form here is updated from updated cookies. Only Firefox 3 does the job without extra code. Ive tried all sort of things I found on the web with Opera 10, Chrome and Safari 3.

I'm looking for a javascript/css code that can do the following, for a click button:
- When mouse is not over the click-button, a text should be displayed at the right of the button, in a bordered textbox - 85% transparency (hardly visible)
(- when mouse hovers over the button, the button image changes to a different one <- I know how to do this)
- When the button is clicked the text shows up normaly (0% transparency)
- When clicking again the button OR anywhere else on the page, the text goes back to 85% transparency.

I recently updated from jQuery 1.4 (I think 1.4.4) to 1.5.1. Before the upgrade, when users pressed the browser's Back button, they would usually be taken back to a page with all their changes intact. If they had modified input values or clicked objects that caused other parts of the page to change, they would still see those changes. Back literally took them back to the exact thing they were looking at before. Under 1.5.1, Back takes them to the prior page as it was when it first loaded. What changed? Can I get the old behavior back?
I'm trying to update a shopcart depending on radio button choice, the problem is when I'm submitting and want to go to the next page.
Imagine this, I'm on a page with 2 radio buttons, either u can pick A or B, depending on my choice the shopcart gets updated, and its placed in the bottom of the page, to that point everything works fine. But when I post from my form and get redirected to the next page it seems like my jquery function runs again and choose the first radio button even if i have the second selected when posting.$cart is the class object and i add the items with just a name and some price parameters.
