I have written the following script which enables/disables checkboxes on my page when a radio button is selected.[code] What I would like to do is create another function called checkval() like below, which will check the value of my radio button (id: email_alerts). If the value is equal to "on" then it will run enableCheckboxes().

I have javasctipt,radio buttons, and textfield in default my textfield is disabled, and when any of radio buttons was click it is disabled also, but when the radio button of the textfield is click it will enable, it works fine and submit the correct data. When I went back to that page the radio button of the text field was checked (ok its fine because it has value) but it didnt show the value of the text field, and it is disabled. I have various list boxes in a web form. I need list box No. 4 to be disabled until a selection is made in a previous list box, the No. 2 listbox. If some selection is done in listbox No. 2 then I can do a selection of list box No. 4. How can I do this?

There is text that goes with each picture that is initially hidden but becomes visible when the user clicks on a button. I have the pictures grouped into separate .js files (about 10 per group) and the page selects images at random from all separate files as if they were one. what i need to do is to be able to disable or deactivate certain photo collections by checking/unchecking a box.
for example, if this appears in the html file,

then there would need to be two checkboxes (preferably at the bottom of the page), one for each .js file. if box 1 is checked then the images selected are drawn only from slide1.js. if box 2 is selected then images are only drawn from slide2.js. if neither are checked then no images are drawn, and if both are checked then images are drawn from both .js files.
I have searched and found lots on enabling/disabling form inputs, but nothing that matches my needs.
I have a form with a dropdown with values 0-4. If value 0 is selected I want the checkboxes to be disabled. If value 1-4 is selected I want the checkboxes to be enabled.

I've got 2 groups of radio buttons (one is a set of options, the other is a range of payment options). When certain options are selected, various payment options are enabled/disabled. How can this be done with javascript?Here is what I would like to see:
When option 1 is selected, all payment options enabled. (none disabled)

When radio button "Owner_Regular_driver_the_same" = "yes" (select by default) then "Regular_driver_name" and "Regular_driver_ID_nr" must be disabled as per code in the script but after the page have been load the "Regular_driver_name" and "Regular_driver_ID_nr" is not disabled.
When click on "yes" radio button "Owner_Regular_driver_the_same" which is selected by default then the "Regular_driver_name" and "Regular_driver_ID_nr" fields are diabled.

I have written probably a rigged way of disabling and enabling fields and radio buttons. The only problem is that when i add the radio buttons to turn on and off the input fields wont work any more.

I have a message system that I want to prevent double posting. So when a user sends a message i would like to disable the button. But its done using AJAX and will load without much time. But enough to cause double clicking. So now the button needs to be enabled once Text is put in the Form Field.

How can I have the submit button disabled by default, an enable it only if 2 specific input box values match. or If a specific form field is => than some value in another form field or hidden field, the Submit button is re-enabled. I'd be curious what the different approaches are to this. I looked through my various SitePoint javascript books and surprisingly didn't find an answer to this scenario specifically.The behavior I'm trying to achieve (most efficiently) is having a form start out with the submit button enabled, but if there is a validation error, such as a required field being left blank on blur, the submit button is disabled. It's easy then to re-enable it when the user fills in that field, but harder to get the script to check and see if there are any other lingering errors before going ahead and enabling it.
My natural inclination would be to just keep a count of errors that increments and decrements when errors occur and are resolved. Then the script would check to see that the error count is 0 before re-enabling the submit button. It seemed easy, but I think I'm getting mixed up somewhere in conflicts of variable scope, and it's not turning out right.A google search rendered an example where someone was using a string variable to store errors, concatenating and replacing data to the string as errors were logged/resolved.
