had this in browsers areas but people told me I should put it here in Javascript because more people here would probably have seen it before and know why it happens. I have basic Javascript that rotates images. I've noticed any kind of Javascript code that rotates images has this same problem only in Mozilla. When the images rotate in Mozilla in between the rotations, Mozilla browser adds a little colored square that represents a blank image that are able to be seen does anyone know why Mozilla Browser adds that? For example when looking at this page in Mozilla can see it. if you know if this is some Mozilla problem with Javascript and images. Doesn't happen with IE and other browsers shows the images only and nothing else.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWe've got a server-side page (status.php) that dynamically generates a GIF image. The displayed image depends on the value of a boolean field in a database. Just calling the page displays the current value of the boolean, calling it with a parameter switch (status.php?switch) flips the database value and generates a new image. We've included headers to prevent caching of the image by the browser.
Whenever our HTML page is displayed in the browser, we just include an image that shows the current status: img src='status.php'/
We want to allow the user to click the image, which then inverts the boolean status in the database: img src='status.php' onclick='this.src=status.php?switch;'/
This works great in Internet Explorer, but both Mozilla and Opera only allow to switch once. My idea of the problem is that those browsers think like this; after one click, the src is already 'status.php?switch', so changing the src again would be redundent in their eyes, so they won't do it.
We found a temporary solution by generating the current time as a parameter in the image URL: img src='status.php' onclick='this.src=status.php?switch+(new Date());'/
However, this is not a very elegant solution.
Does anyone know a proper solution to this? This means, forcing Mozilla and Opera to load an image using JavaScript, even though the URL of the image didn't change?
I've a BIG Problem With a HUGE JS application , i'm modifying its javaScript code to work on both IE/Mozilla , currently it works fine on IE but not on Mozilla.
My main Point now is events.
Lets try with a little module, consider this function :

This works fine in IE , i want to modify it to work on Mozilla.
only first image in the all_images array loads and the rest stays hidden. it works first time i load the page, but any other time it loads only one image. i understand it might have to do with the cache. what could be possible cause for breaking the .each() loop after first iteration? i'm using jquery 1.3.2, png fix and php

I would like my page to load (and show a loading.gif in place of the main not-yet-downloaded image) and then download the main image. Uisng jquery, how can i achieve this? Ideally, i'd also like then to be able to switch that main image using links, again showing a loading.gif prior to display.

So image1.gif will be displayed when the page loads then after say 10 seconds image2.png will replace image1.gif.
How can I complete this code below to make the image links show up inside the div? Also, if the div already has an image inside it, then clicking a new image link should replace the current contents of the div.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to have a site where the background image is whatever the latest image in an RSS feed is.
So how could I set it up to get the image from the RSS feed?
I want to post a new image to the RSS feed every day so the background will change every day.
I was playing with a script I found and adapted it to load an image on page loading then disapear. I hope it's useful.
<head>
<script>
var tmp = 0;
var num = 0;
var img = null;
var timer = null;
function expand(it) {
//tmp = it.width; // save original size
num = 0;
img = it;
timer = setTimeout("exp()",10); // 10ms steps
}
function exp() {
//img.align = "right";
img.width = img.width * 1.1; // 10% each time
img.height = img.height * 1.1; // 10% each time
//
num++
if (num < 9) // 9 steps then stop
{timer = setTimeout("exp()",10);}
}
function shrink(it) {
clearTimeout(timer); // stop if active
it.style.display ="none"//hidePic
//it.width = "0px";//you can set width and height of shrink
//it.height = "0px";//or use tmp to return to original
}
</script>
</head>
<body onload ="expand(test); setTimeout('shrink(test)',2000)"><div align = "center"><img src = "yourImage.jpg" id ="test" ></div>
test text
</body>
I want to display an image, while some files are being uploaded, here is the code:
Code:
function formCallback(result, sendData)
{
if (result == true)
{
$('loading').innerHTML = '<img src="img/loader.gif" alt="Loading..." />Please wait...';
}
}
However, despite the correct image path, sometimes I get only the alt text, other times I get a still image.
It seems, but I could be wrong, that the animated gif is not completely loaded...
Is there a way to make sure the image is loaded, and only after, try to show it?

I have a div called large_pic. I have links beside it called pic1, pic2, pic3.
I would like to know how do I dynamically load images into the large_pic div whenever I click on a link. eg. clicking on pic1 link will load image1 into the large_pic div.
I would normally use iframes instead of the div, but that was when I was using tables. Now I am using divs, so I would like to use a div method if it's possible.
In the gallery of my site, I have problems with the gallery, because I cannot upload images via Ajax. The site is [URL].

I used DrDOS's solution from [URL]and modyfied it a bit so I have 2 images, first without and 2nd with a link to other page. It works just fine in FF but in Chrome and in IE it shows just 2nd image. View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to create a script that will load an image based upon the hour of the day... Ultimately, the script needs to function as follows:
- A user navigates to the URL
- An image is displayed that is 2 hours old
I have a camaera/utility to upload my image files by hour and updated every 10 minutes. So I have 24 images with a consistent name based upon the hour they where captured (e.g. 12.jpg, 13.jpg, etc...).
Therefore, all I need it a script that will determine what the current hour and display the image that corresponds to two hours previous. I know I can use the javascript math functions to get the 2 hour delay, but it's actually outputting the images that I'm having difficulty with.
I'm thinking I need to use the javascript "Switch" function, similar to the following, but I just can't seem to figure out how to make the script output an image instead of text. Code:
Is there any way to determine the number of bytes or percentage of a image that is being loaded?This function is a extract and what I would like to do is show a real time progress bar while the image is loading if it hasn't loading after x seconds. Is this possible? By real time I mean a progress bar that reflects the images actual state not a fake bar that just moves. The thing I'm most concerned about is calculating how much of the image has actually loaded. Possible?
