I use scriptaculous to retrieve the hotel names and area names from database in this page. My question is where it says step 3, Search for hotel, chain or location!. Type in syd for example and you see how it retrieves the values from database and shows them underneath. It works fine and the list is generated beautifully. Now I have to add the next step which is filling this text box (from step 3 where you typed syd in) with the value (of the item clicked on). For example once you typed sydney, if you click on Sydney, I want the text field to be filled with value sydney.

View 4 Replies View RelatedAny way to update URLs on a page depending on the region selected by the user. I have 3 regions, Americas, Europe & Asia. And depending on the region selected I need to update URLs on the page for the different regions.
For example, below are the 3 possibilities for the links.
domain.com/americas/product.php
domain.com/asia/product.php
domain.com/europe/product.php
I created 3 hyperlinks, when the user click each link, it will change
the color of the text of a link. For example, when user clicks Link1,

I know it's been addressed before but I don't understand how to implement it on my code.
I want the content on the div 'text' to change every time a new picture loads on the image array. So the first picture would trigger 'THIS IS IMAGE 1' on the 'text' div, while the second image would display 'THIS IS IMAGE 2' and so on.

I have a form where I want certain fields to be visible only if the user clicks a checkbox on the form.
Specifically, when Presented_to_Goverment_EntityCheckbox0 is checked, these fields should appear.
I created two different styles, show below; one makes the fields visible and one hides them
Then I surrounded the fields with a div ID'ed as wdiv

However nothing happens when I click the checkbox and if I look in Firefox's error console it says ChangeDiv is not defined.

I downloaded this simple form which uses JS to limit the number of characters entered into the text input field by counting down from the maximum allowable number of characters (55) down to 0 as characters are being entered. I also have a bit of JS which watches the ckeditor and when a user types into it, whatever they type appears in a div elsewhere on the page.My ckeditor allows the text to be bold, italic, underlined and resized. When I apply styles to the text in the ckeditor textarea, I want them to reflected in the div which updates. At the moment only underline and resizing the text works. Choosing bold or italic does nothing the text updates ok, but no bold or italic. I've been told: "Ckeditor is using strong for bold, em for italics. My guess is that the browser or framework you are using doesn't apply bold and italics styles to those tags. You'll have to do that yourself."
I've tested on several browsers, I checked in FF Opera Safari Chrome IE8 & IE9 and its the same in all them. Underline works, resize works but neither bold or italic do. (Interestingly in IE7 bold and italic do work as well as the size and underline! What's going on with that?!?) So I assume it is the framework? Can anyone tell me if this is right and if so, how do I go about doing that myself?

However, as you'll notice, the alert box shows up on the first click as well. The only way I have been able to get around this behaviour is to have the first onclick execute a timer that will then set the document.onclick after 1ms, however this seems very messy to me.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am new to javascript, and am having an issue, which I'm sure is elementary.. I found a script for expandable content, it suffices fine. As it stands, the script toggles images onclick. For example, whence the menu is collapsed, it displays "plus.gif" next to it, and when the menu is expanded, it displays "minus.gif" next to it.
Basically, what I would like to know is, thus: how would I change it to display text icons next to it? For example, in place of "plus.gif" I should like it to display "+" as actual text. I've dredged a number of places, however, I've found nothing. Furthermore, I cannot figure out how to do it.
I have a text field (field1) already displayed on the HTML page. However, there's a link where you can add additional text fields to the page as well. When the link is clicked, the second text field is added successfully (field2), and when the link is clicked again, the third text field (field3) is added successfully. However, the third field does not add itself to the page, and the text for anything greater than a third field also isn't displayed after. This obviously means that my "fields" variable is not working right

I'm reasonably familiar with PHP (I use a lot of it to do simple things). I'm a Web desinger and do custom CSS Websites (I'm fairly new to that too couple of years or more working with CSS and I've never done a table based layout.

But when the button is clicked, nothing will call the showCaption() function again, and I can't figure out how to call that function as the images advance. I have tried a lot of things with a lot of weird results, one being the tne next caption will display in a blank browser window, without the Webpage! I'm not sure why that happens, but I have a clue.
Is there an easier way to do what I want to do? I only want to show a few lines of text that will describe each image. Seems simple enough to me, but I'm just too new to make it work.
