Can CSS Styles Be Applied To Form Input Text

I downloaded this simple form which uses JS to limit the number of characters entered into the text input field by counting down from the maximum allowable number of characters (55) down to 0 as characters are being entered. I want to change the number being displayed from the default black to red. How can this be achieved?

Is there any way that I can have multiple textboxes where the user can enter text (such as "black or green") and it would edit a css file, like this:

I'm using the jquery plugin found here. I love the look but I have a form that uses functions like this:

So, when you select a country and it retrieves the state/province text input, the jquery css is not applied to it. Is there something I need to add to the code above or to the jquery initialization code here:

Have a small problem with a cms whereby when i try to insert default text into an input text field using the "value" attribute it gets deleted. I was thinking to force insert the text in there when the page load with javascript but not sure exactly how...

I would like to have a text link do 2 things:
1. Change #box1.style1 to class="style2" (from style1)
2. Change #box2.style2 to class="style1" (from style2)
So the text link would not change its own style, but change the class of 2 different divs

I'm making an RTE and have come to the point where I'd like to integrate CSS support - that is, give the editing widgets (and, concurrently, the user of the editor) access to CSS styles, so you aren't just stuck with <strong>, <em>, and inline style attributes.
SO, what I need to know from you, as developers, is the preferred way of getting the styles to the script. I'm going to explain the options in detail here, and just give cursory labels for the pollAdd classNames to be used into a configuration file of the editor. Only classes specified here will be made available for editing.Use a dedicated stylesheet just for the editor, in which all rules need to be used. This would be attached to the IFRAME's document, and could be @import-ed into the regular page so the same stylesheet can be used for editing and rendering.Search all current stylesheets for rules that are a descendant of the editor's ID.Specify styles in the config to be added inline on the HTML.Other (specify)A combination/choice of any of the above.Please give some serious thought to this before responding - I want this to be something that works with the current zeitgeist of web development. Think about what the conditions under which you'd use this, and what would be best/easiest for those conditions.

I have a textarea which uses ckeditor to make it a wysiwyg. I also have a bit of JS which watches the ckeditor and when a user types into it, whatever they type appears in a div elsewhere on the page.My ckeditor allows the text to be bold, italic, underlined and resized. When I apply styles to the text in the ckeditor textarea, I want them to reflected in the div which updates. At the moment only underline and resizing the text works. Choosing bold or italic does nothing the text updates ok, but no bold or italic. I've been told: "Ckeditor is using strong for bold, em for italics. My guess is that the browser or framework you are using doesn't apply bold and italics styles to those tags. You'll have to do that yourself."
I've tested on several browsers, I checked in FF Opera Safari Chrome IE8 & IE9 and its the same in all them. Underline works, resize works but neither bold or italic do. (Interestingly in IE7 bold and italic do work as well as the size and underline! What's going on with that?!?) So I assume it is the framework? Can anyone tell me if this is right and if so, how do I go about doing that myself?

how to add text to a hidden field in a HTML form. I want to add text from an array, the array holds the information for the caption placeholder for the images.
Basically i have an image viewer which lets you scroll through images and they have a text caption below them telling what the images are. When the user clicks an image this brings up the form and hides the imageViewer. I want the caption of the image clicked to automatically be entered into the hidden field of the form when a user decides to choose a particular photo, so that it sends this to the server script for processing.
At present i have the function

i have commented some out to try various things.
My form input box has an id="camera" and i was told to do something like this. Give the hidden element an id="someName"...then in the JS you can change the value of it by the usual way... getElementById('someName').value=??? where ??? is the name of the camera the user has

I am getting a strange behavior in IE 6 and 7 where not only do I lose my CSS styling in the replaced DIV but some of the jQuery swap classes code no longer works after an ajax form is submitted. I am using jQuery Forms to post the data and use the exact same approach on the same page with a different form with no trouble.
Works fine in Safari, and FF, though I do see my styled Form submit button do a little hop in FF when the div is refreshed (this does not happen in my other successful form post.)
Best to see by example I guess:
1. Goto [url]
2. Click Level1Page1 in the first Nav Window you see
3. Click on 'Edit' when it appears
4. In the following pop-up, under the Page Settings tab (the default), make some changes and press update - this should work with no problem.
5. Now click on the second tab in the pop-up labeled Page Design
6. Make some changes and click update - You should see the problem here. The styling will disappear in the form and you will no longer be able to select a page layout.
The code that is spit back is the identical server side code that generates the form in the first place. There should be no difference between the pre-post state and the post-post state except for the data itself.

This should be fairly straightforward but I'm having some unexpected trouble.
I have a form with an input [code]...
...the value attribute 'search me' is what is displayed on default page load.
If I focus on the text field and type into it, "Hello World!"
How can I see that new value?
I've tried the obvious [code]...
How can I pick up the new value on the fly? It must be possible, no?

Been racking my brain all day trying to figure out how to duplicate this code with the limited javascript knowledge I have been trying to learn.This code is a Dropdown menu of Yes or No, than a Select button that Opens up a Text Input directly below the dropdown. So far, It works great. My problem is I need at least two of these on the same page and I do not know how to go about it. I have tried changing values to accommodate adding another on the same form, but than both stop working.

I've created a admin center, that has two seperate login permissions. Admin which can edit listings, etc... and Viewer which can only view listings, and edit 1 or 2 of the listings details and not all of them like the admin. I've seen web-sites where certain text input fields are sort of Grayed out, not allowing for user to type, click in or change anything in that field. Sort of like the html text input field has been or is disabled. How can I get certain html text input fields to appear disabled, and the text that's inside un-editable or unchange-able?

I have a PHP form with a html section at the bottom. There are 14 input text fields on the form and I want the form to send of the email as it should do and also take the name field, pass it to the following web page and display it in a <div> tag.
I think the relevant code looks like this

Can I capture the input from FieldData0 and send it to the next webpage by Javascript or as a cookie? Or to have then confirm their name in a second form and automatically capture it before the submit button.
I have no script on the following page yet.
