How come the onClick="T1.value=group1.value" results in undefined instead of 5 (or 10) ?

May 11, 2010Using a UI dialog I'd like to load in 10 or so images. Each would be unique and after you click on one the following needs to happen:
1. Image appears on the parent page in a specified ID.
2. A "hidden" field is updated so that when the user submits the db is updated with their selection.
3. Dialog closes automatically.
That's it. Basically it would work similar to "datepicker".I'm using the latest 1.4 and ui and been making great progress as learning basics. I need to do the above and it seems like such a no brainier and or it should already exist but after 2 days of searching and trial and error...

Oct 22, 2009how to add text to a hidden field in a HTML form. I want to add text from an array, the array holds the information for the caption placeholder for the images.
Basically i have an image viewer which lets you scroll through images and they have a text caption below them telling what the images are. When the user clicks an image this brings up the form and hides the imageViewer. I want the caption of the image clicked to automatically be entered into the hidden field of the form when a user decides to choose a particular photo, so that it sends this to the server script for processing.
At present i have the function

i have commented some out to try various things.
My form input box has an id="camera" and i was told to do something like this. Give the hidden element an id="someName"...then in the JS you can change the value of it by the usual way... getElementById('someName').value=??? where ??? is the name of the camera the user has

Feb 18, 2011I have a standard HTML form that asks the user for a dollar amount and a payment date. On the same page I want to display some acknowledgement text which displays to the user what they entered above.
For example, lets say the user entered 10.00 as the dollar amount, and 03/01/2011 as the payment date in separate HTML form text fields. Right before the submit button I would like to display to the user "By clicking on the submit button below, I agree to pay $10.00 to Company, Inc. on 03/01/2011".
I'm sure this can be done using jQuery... I'm just having a hard time finding an example.

Sep 29, 2007I've created a admin center, that has two seperate login permissions. Admin which can edit listings, etc... and Viewer which can only view listings, and edit 1 or 2 of the listings details and not all of them like the admin. I've seen web-sites where certain text input fields are sort of Grayed out, not allowing for user to type, click in or change anything in that field. Sort of like the html text input field has been or is disabled. How can I get certain html text input fields to appear disabled, and the text that's inside un-editable or unchange-able?
