How can I , for example, replace an image with another image, or some text, Or change the information in some text. But All this has to happen dynamically and without refreshing the page. How can this be achieved best?

I am current building an information database for the company I work at...basically just a place for employees to get information and answers from. It is all hosted on a local server and I can only use javascript, html, and css. I've got everything made there is just one thing i want to add to it. Basically an "alerts and updates" page that only some people can edit without having to know html so if im not there they can post important updates. No computers have access to the internet so I did try some rich text editors but none of them worked. The layout I'm going for is kind of like this.

You click edit it prompts you to login, bring up something to edit the text in that specific update you hit submit and it changes the info that was on there. The update links are linked to a script I wrote that just display the info below so when the page loads you see whats in update 1 then you click update and it changes the content to the next one.
I have a php webpage that has a single input box. When ever an item is entered and the Submit button is pressed, the entry is added to a database. Additionally, the database table contents are read and printed directly below the input box and the submit button on the same page, using AJAX. Now, I have decided to add additional functionality to the page. I want a delete button for each entry displayed in the table below. For any button that is pressed, I want to delete that entry from the database.
Here's the problem: I want the database table contents that has been printed below to reflect this change. I can achieve the delete, but in order to show the change in content caused by the delete, the table below must either be replaced or updated via ajax. How can I achieve this? I have been trying to follow these examples using jQuery and Mootools respectively, but I've been having no luck. [URL] I don't want all the fancy looks, I just want the core functionality.
I have content in hidden (invisible) DIV elements on a page that I want to load into another DIV element on same page. I need to replace content currently in a DIV with that coming from another DIV. DIV ontent could be a P element or a P and IMG element.

The website uses 5 html documents and all share one css document, it has no jscript docs. Recently, we learned how to use jscript to set up an image gallery in class where clicking on a certain button changes the picture shown on the page, my question is can the same thing be applied to the contents of an html document?(<p>,<a>,<img>) I'm aware you can change the contents of say, a <p> with an id tag but I mean to do it for a whole sections of the site. That includes paragraphs, images etc.
If so, it would be great to cut down my html from 6 pages to just one.
i would like to build a page which is nav and content, I would like the content to change without refreshing the page, also ideally fallback gracefully to non java say to standard go and view new page on click if javascript is disabled, and also have the content only load in when required as the content is heavy and I dont think just hiding divs will be a good solution? any ideas, I'm thinking a javascript PHP solution is required

I want to change a div content in my page via javascript , the problem is the index.php file is coded and I can't read it , but I could execute some JavaScript codes from somewhere else .
The problem is that the <div> is in the lowest side of the page and my javascript code is above it , so The javascript code runs first and It couldn't find the div because it's not loaded yet my javascript code is something like this :

I can think of doing it through mutation event DOMNodeInserted but the issue is they are not supported by all browsers and they are getting deprecated too.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am developing a web application in which I need to integrate a javascript/html editor on some of the web pages and then provide 'Edit' buttons on those web pages so that users can edit the content on that partciular html/jsp page (like editing in wiki pages) and then, when they add some content and click on submit button, the new content should appear on the web page with all the formatting (i.e. bold, italics, color and so on) which was applied by user when he was entering the text.
Now, I need help for the below issues:
1. Suggest me a good javascript/html editor (freely downloadable) which I can use to integrate with my web pages.
2. Once the user has entered some content using the above javascript editor, how to make that content reach the server and update the corresponding web page.

I have a long saving-process. In my Ajax-call I open the dialog with the beforeSend method.

This works fine. In the dialog, I display "Saving..." After the ajaxCall is succesfull I want to change the message and add a button "OK" to it.

But this won't work...Is it possible to change the dialog-content on the fly or is there another jQuery component to create this behavior?
