View 2 RepliesI have an oscommerce web site with a cart in the header which shows/hides the content when you hover over it. What I'm trying to do is alternate the row color of the part that drops down when items have been added to the cart but I'm just not getting it right no matter what I try.
Code JavaScript:
$(function(){ // wait for the document to load
var globals = {
session_id:session_id,
cart_fetch_file:"cart_fetch.php?" + session_id ,
cart_fetch: false,
loading_image: '<center><img src="images/assets/loading.gif" align="middle" vspace="8" alt=""></center>',
cart_image_width: image_width,
cart_image_height: image_height,
cart_opacity: 1,
box_status: false,
timer: "",
speed: "fast",
text_cart_quantity: text_cart_quantity,
text_cart_subtotal: text_cart_subtotal, .....
I'm trying to parse my anchor tags, by getting all the href attribute available in the page, and then i will loop through this attribute values and then parse it. if each href value is equal to "mypage.com", the link will open to the same window, but if not it will open to a new window, more like the concept of determining internal and external links in a page.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a php page which uses the following javascript code to open another page (The users profile page) and alos carry over the userID (dUid)
var userProfileUrl = chatProfileUrl+dUid.replace(/_/gi,"");
document.getElementById('userdetails').innerHTML += "<span class='userinfo' onClick="window.open('"+userProfileUrl+"','"+dUid+"')"><img id='profile' style='cursor:pointer;vertical-align:middle;padding-top:4px;' src=images/zoom.png> View Profile</span></br>";
I wanted to add to the menu another image link so I copied the same coding, but I do not know where to place the URL target that I want opened. I know I want the userID (dUid) also to follow this link as well. If I want the coding below to act in the same manner as the coding above, but instead open a page called /gift.php, where do I set the Url?
document.getElementById('userdetails').innerHTML += "<span class='userinfo' onClick="window.open('"+userProfileUrl+"','"+dUid+"')"><img id='profile' style='cursor:pointer;vertical-align:middle;padding-top:4px;' src=images/gift.png> Send Gift</span></br>";
I'm pretty new to jquery. What I have is an array of images in a slideshow.

View 2 Replies View RelatedOut of pure curiosity: Assuming tabulated data in HTML is being generated by a PHP script, would it be better to alternate each row's background color with PHP or rely on JS to do it? One is run client-side and the other server-side so my guess you have to take the whole web app as a whole and see which side should be spared the additional workload. Is it situational or is there an absolute rule? In a vacuum, I guess you could argue PHP would be better since it cannot be turned off in the way JS can (unless plugins like NoScript can block PHP as well), but I don't have enough experience with either to be sure.

so I have this script that alternates my CSS stylesheets and it's working great. The thing is, there was a cookie coding that was included but it doesn't work. Basically what I want to do is that the browser remembers which stylesheet the user had chosen and keep it the same for all pages, for a determined period of time.

I read this article: [URL]...I want to Combine this example with the example given in Part 1 to give this table of revenues alternating row colors!
Here are my combining codes: It is quite clear there must be something with them because I can't see the expected result after running. Help me find that mistake.

I'm using a javascript to alternate table rows and it works fine by table id, and on the first loop. This is all inside a conditional, in which the table tag is repeated.
On the second and subsequent loops, the alternating row color fails because there can only be one unique id call to a page. Right?
What's the script that will allow unlimited reiterations of tables with alternating row colors, using class?
I have a list that looks like this:
<ul id="thisList">
<li class="this0">content</li>
<li class="this1">content</li>

I am new to JavaScript and have been plugging away at it trying build a menu for site I am developing. My colleague has suggested I use Flash, which I could, but I think it is unnecessary and JavaScript is ideal for this use.
I have been building a menu that has a sub menu that appears below all of the main menu items. I have got this working and will include the code I used to do this below.
Now I want to change the button image so that it is visible which sub-menu the items that appear below belong to. Code:
which was very helpful and with some playing around I can now get my existing menu to complete part of my task. But I have 4 menu items and therefore need to use a "var" command to allow me to define different button images for different menus. Code:
i want to submit form data from the popup window, close the popup, and load in the main window. problem is, it always opens a new 'tab'. i'm using google chrome, i didn't think to try this in
in the <head> of the 'main' window:
<script language='javascript' type='text/javascript'>
window.name='main';
</script>

I want to create Google Custom Search TextBox that has background image and image disappears on onmouseclick and appears back on onmouseout.

<script type="text/javascript">
if(self!=top) {
top.location.href=location.href
}
</script>
However my problem occurs when the user uses the browsers back arrow to return to the previous page, the script executes again returning them once more to the page they have come from. Is anyone aware of a work around to this problem as it would seem there isn't one? perhaps even a better solution for opening the target page from the iframe as top location. This is really causing confusion for users, and I really need to get the issue fixed.

As you can see I am simply trying to get the javascript to write an area for the image map but I can't get it to display.
I know the code looks pointless but what I want to do eventually is use an array of locations to dynamically create the areas.
I have the following function to dynamically create an image (in this case a toolbox button):
Which works fine in IE8 and IE9, but in IE7 it refuses to pick up the style 'button'. I've even tried putting in btn.class='button' but JS throws up an error.
If I specify the style by btn.style.position='Absolute' it picks this up OK. However, it won't respond to the onclick event either.
I have heard that setAttribute is buggy with IE7, which is why I tried to specify each attribute directly.
The style sheet for class button is:
(BTW, no link to a website as this is local on my machine atm)
I need to create a mouseover image so when i hover my mouse over an image another image appears somewhere else on the webpage I do not want it to appear above the image hovered over like most code allows, i need a separate image to appear that is normally hidden.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI would like to know how to create such an effect using javascript. Example: This site (http://kreativity.ca/) , at the menu button (with the Home, About me,)
All i know how to do is using the mouseover effect, and then displaying an enlarged version of the image (thus creating a "drop down" effect). However, i do not know the code to make the image "drop down" gradually.
First off I'm incredibly new to JavaScript and its likely I am going about this completely the wrong way. But gotta start somewhere. Also my apologise if I am posting in the wrong area.
Here's my problem. I have setup a site in CSS3/XHTML that I will use to display some of my photography (im a keen photographer) The way my Gallery will work will be using Submenu's then there will be a table of Thumbnails which I have setup.
The part I am stuck on is that I want people to be able to click the thumbnails and then the corresponding picture held in the next folder to be displayed in a CSS defined container in the center of the page.
So clicking _Images/Thumbnails/1.gif will bring up _/Images/1.gif in the CSS container For the life of me I cannot work out how to do it though. Here is my code so far.

Id like to create a rotating content for my homepage, using 4 images, all of which id like to be hyperlinked to there pages.
View 7 Replies View RelatedIf I create an image element using the DOM methods and assign it an onload event handler, at what point is the image actually loaded and the event handler run?
So, given the following and assuming that "parent" references a node already in the document:
var elm = document.createElement("img");
elm.src = "myuglyface.jpg" // #1
addEvent(elm, "load", myHandler, false); // the standard cross-browser event adding mechanism
parent.appendChild(elm); // #2
Does the loading of the image begin at #1 or #2, ie when I first reference it or when it is added to the document? Can I even add an event handler at the point I do so?
