The last time I tried to ask this question...Google Groups screwed up
my message and there was no subject (sorry for that - I know it's
annoying).
I'm trying to learn how to develop a plug-in that allows users to
display data from one site in a third party site, like Google Adwords
or the Digg counter for news stories. I took a look at Digg.com and
found the following:
It looks like digg is doing the following to show the number of "diggs"
for a story on your website. On my page I would have the following:
I'm trying to move a div with the animate(); Method but doesn't work with the top css property this is the method that I use $('.btnControls').click(function(){ $(".itemContainer").animate({top:"200px"}); }); Which is the reason for doesn't work.?
Here is my issue,I want to highlight the differents inputs within a form The script works perfectly with Google Chrome, but with Firefox and I.E the current input selection do not highlight .
I have added a method on jQuery validator like this
$.validator.addMethod('myEqual', function (value, element) { return value == element.value; // this one here didn't work :( }, 'Please enter a greater year!'); $.metadata.setType("attr", "validate");
Using JQuery validation plugin, it will work in css, class='required", but I use method to validate, it will not work. The coding is below. It will skip the validation and go to server.
Liferay 4.4.2 + jQuery 1.7.1Lib loads correctly (I use noConflict method because in Liferay there is 1.1.4 jQuery). I check for example $('someDiv').hide() and this works correctly. But .bind() method doesn't work.
I've seen an other post talking about not being able to perform a .html().replace() also, but no one replied.
[URL]
Why is this? I ran into the same problem and from what I was seeing, the replace() was only replacing the very first match. My work around was pretty simple, I just keep running replace() until it was done, but I'm dumbfounded as to why this would need to be done.
while (newLastRow.html().indexOf(settings.placeholder) > -1){ newLastRow.html(newLastRow.html().replace(settings.placeholder, curTotal)); }
As with the other post, I'm dynamically adding html to the page using a template, where the replace() method is updating the IDs of the fields when adding a new instance.
What's special about the value returned by the html() method? Is there a different preferred way to do this?
I have 2 page. one of them,is gallery.html and another one, is index.html.i want to load the content of the gallery page into <div id="content-gallery"></div> in index.html.I use the fallowing code :
but it works only in IE8,FF, and safari. It doesn't work in chrome and opera (latest version).In opera and chrome, when i click on <a id="gallery">show gallery</a> it show only a bank page.i use jQuery Library v1.3.2.
Basically, when you click a link a function is called with a parameter based on the particular link you run. Then the code runs through an xml file, and if the parent of the nodes I've cyling through has a value equal to the parameter past to the function, that node is used to create a new link with window.open function attached to it.It all works, or seems to, and when I alert what is being built, it looks right to me, yet the links don't work.I've attached a copy of one of the alerts of one of the links as it's built.
I'm trying to do something, but I don't know if it's possible. Basically, I want to have a public static class method that could access a private object's method. I would like to be able to do :
Class.method(InstanceOfClass);
The method would then access a private function from Class by doing something like
function method(param) { param.privateMethodOfClass(); }
I've done a lot research and experimentations but just can't come up with a solution... I don't even know if what I'm trying to do is possible.
Why is the callwhy is the slice method only a method of an Array instance? The reason why I ask is because if you want to use it for the arguments property of function object, or a string, or an object, or a number instance, you are forced to use Array .prototype slice.call(). And by doing that, you can pass in any type of object instance (Array, Number, String, Object) into it. So why not just default it as a method of all object instances built into the language?In other words, instead of doing this:
function Core(){ var obj = {a : 'a', b : 'b'}; var num = 1;[code]....
//right now none of the above would work but it's more convenient than using the call alternative.
} Core('dom','event','ajax');
Why did the designers of the javascript scripting language make this decision?
I have two methods and I would like to call somename1 method from within somename2 method. I have tried several ways to do so however I keep getting "TypeError" or "RefernceError" I have tried several ways to reference but I am still unable. What am I doing wrong. I would think this would be easy to do.
Is the form below a valid method of changing the id of an XHTML element, specifically the one actually being referenced? It does not seem to work for me.
I cant get my cookie to work. I believe its not my javascript that is wrong. Can anyone take a look to see what i did wrong in my cookie? I have to pages dropdown1.html and dropdown2.html. Both pages have the same exact dropdown list. There is also a javascript file called script.js which makes it so you get an error if you select the same option on the second drop down list as the first. Also in the script.js i have a cookie that should run so dropdown2.html should now what was selected in dropdown1.html Can anyone see if i made a mistake in either my javascript code in my cookie? Right now I am not getting the error message if you select the same option as the first. Ill show all my code incase you need it for reference
dropdown1.html
Code:
Code:
Script.js (this is the part where I cant figure out why the error message does not appear on the second dropdown menu if user selects the same option as the first)
I have a problem, I don't know why this code doesn't work on IE ver 8 On Firefox, Chrome it is like I want, on IE - no reaction Is this some html/css problem or my fault on js? I'm sure about .js code is correct.. I think.. link html/css/js
this will not work on change. also the innerhtml wont display. please help. here is the js:
function checkemail(){ if (document.suform.email.value && document.suform.emailcheck.value) { if (document.suform.email.value == document.suform.emailcheck.value)
function doSomething () { var obj = new Obj(); obj.foo = bar; doSomethingElse(obj); }
In function doSomethingElse I want to create the following line of DHTML
<div return true;">
What I want is for onClick to be defined to be the execution of the foo method of obj.
I tried document.writeln ("<div + obj.foo + "(); return true;'>");
What I get is the source code for bar stuck into the middle of the string. So how do I get just the name of the function bar in the string? Or ultimately, how do I get the handler to be bar in the DHTML?
While submiting the form elements, if the GET method is used in the <form>tag, the data is submitted as a query string.I think there should be restriction in size of data submitted by the browser IE. Does any body know the exact details of it?
