The main page of the site has this script which determines the
language settings of the OS. This works fine for IE but not for
firefox. Is there any other codes which i have to insert to make sure
Firefox would be able to load it?
<script type="text/javascript">
function detectlang()
{
var lang=navigator.userLanguage
var langs=navigator.systemLanguage
var langb=navigator.browserLanguage
if
((langs=="ar-sa"||lang=="ar-sa"||langb=="ar-sa"))
{window.location.reload("http://www.flynas.com/ara/index.html")}
else
{window.location.reload("http://www.flynas.com/eng/index.html")}
}
</script>

I'm trying to load google.com from a test html page using jQuery-1.5.1 but unable to do it.I've tried all the 3 methods listed but to no success.Below is the code snippet for the same & the output that I'm getting.
To enhance user experience on my site, I've moved a few page elements (well, the ads...) to the end of the page (in a hidden div) and when the page is loaded the content of such divs are copied to their appropriate location on the page. This makes the content load much faster and thus not delay the user.So what I did works perfectly with IE/Opera but th FireFox is causes the page to try and reload, which it never succeeds to and so we're stuck with a blank page. So yes, the problem is that there are document.write calls inside those divs which contain script but I cannot change it (google ads / ebay ads)I even tried to use setTimeout() to ensure the content is loaded (and can see that it is) but still when the move is done, the page tries to reload.
Below is some very basic html/javascript that asks for a user to enter a number in an input text box and then a button is pressed it writes out a line that number of times. It works, but when run in firefox the pages always seems to continue to load...that is, the cursor is continuously that when a page is loading (an arrow with a little circle) and the status bar in the bottom right hand corner seems to be always be at zero. It seems to be something in the for loop as when this is take out it works. Seems to work in IE however?Is this a FireFox thing or am I not terminating the loop properly?
I am trying to do a popup window, which will load when the page loads. Using the onLoad in the <Body> tag. However it doesn't seem to be working. Also when the popup loads there will be a form which the user selects an option and the form is sent to a email address with the answer chosen and then the popup closed. Code:
I have a very strange issue which happens only on the Mac/Firefox 2 (and 3 I believe) : [URL] The top left logo (ball) is a simple flash 'spin' animation, that is activated using javascript via the navigation (onmouseover effect). This works fine on Windows - Firefox, IE and Mac - Safari. However on Mac/Firefox, the logo ball on page load simply DOES NOT APPEAR. However, when you simply SCROLL down or if you move your mouse over the navigation (which calls the flash), then the logo appears. Basically, it's really odd because the logo ball is there, but Mac/Firefox does not show it until you do something to the page, like scroll.
How you handle back button scenario in firefox browser. The problem is when i click browser back button , the javascript on load is not executed and page is rendered from cache.
I understand that when loading a page, the html parser is suspended until any script that it comes across is executed. i also believe that certain browsers will allow user input for those parts rendered whilst the rest of the page is still being parsed. suppose that a user clicks a button that is visible and 'active' and fires off some lengthy javascript execution causing the ui to 'freeze' for a while. my question is, on a page that is still being parsed but allows user input on those parts parsed and rendered, will the parsing of the rest of the page cease whilst the event handler (onclick) is working or will the user see the page render simultaneously as the event handler does its job?
I've created an html page where I will present a list of mp3 tracks which user can listen to. When a user clicks on any track, a pop-up will get open which will play that track. The url of this pop-up, which is partly completed is, [URL]
For this I've googled around and found a solution. But this is working fine in IE but not in FF. This solution uses a "m3u" file for the purpose. And I've got this from here: [URL](please scroll down).
In FF, it says to download a plugin but when I click, it searches for the plugin and displayes error message as "No suitable plugins found Unknow plugin(audio/x-mpegurl)"
I want to commit that I do not have quicktime installed on my system but window media player which is getting used when page is viewd in IE.
how to make this work. I've also set the MIME type under HTTP Header in IIS 6.0. The header set are: .m3u; Mime type: audio/x-mpegurl and mp3; Mime type: audio/mpeg
Though, it is an ASP page but nothing is ASP code over there, completely, JS and HTML
Code for sound.asp file

<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML> <HEAD> <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">

i have a requirement like, i need to search the xml file using xpath expression. for that, first i need to load the xml file into javascript function using the below line of code.
function loadXMLDoc(dname) { if (window.XMLHttpRequest) { for ie 7+,all xhttp = new XMLHttpRequest(); alert('entered in method--if');
[Code]....
i am able to load the xml file in all the browsers except IE7,IE8. i am getting an error as "ACCESS DENIED". and the error i am getting the error at line, xhttp.open("GET", dname, false);
I'm sure my problem is a syntax error of some kind but I was wondering if anyone can help me discover why I am unable to get the content to load in order, one after the other.[code]
I'm trying to load an xml file with jQuery but it doesn't seem to work. This is my code, I made it very simple for testing, but it doesn't work. var test = "./test.xml"; $.get( test, function(data) { $('#textarea').text(data); }); I just don't know how to get the data of an xml file, does the $.get method not work with xml? When I try it with an .html file it works.
I have a single webpage that contains information on all 50 U.S. states. There are 50 links at the top to jump down to the state you want, and at the bottom of the information for each state a Back to Top link.
I'm making the Back to Top link into something more complex, and it will require three or four lines of code.
So that I don't have to repeat the code 50 times, and create a burden when I need to edit it, I want to place it in a .js file and call it x. Then below the information for each state I'll simply have:
Does calling code from a .js file 50 times slow down the page load? Which method would load faster?
Although I am able to drag and drop HTML links, I am no longer able to drag Javascript links.
In the past, I have been able to drag a link from such places as the TinyURL! link on http://tinyurl.com to my Links Toolbar. Now I can't. When I try to drag any Javascript link, my cursor does not change the same way it does for an HTML link. I see a hand icon for both link types. When I try to drag a Javascript link, it changes from a hand to an arrow as soon as I pull the cursor away from the link.
Is this problem new to WinXP SP2? Has one of my settings changed? Has Norton Internet Security become more actively involved?
I don't know the problem with IE6. I have tried three methods, and they all failed. I eliminated the use of mootools' framework in method 3. MooTools is not the problem. Because the table is created but is not showing up. I have checked that with IE developper toolbar. Code:
I have some javascript code that does some GET and POST requests that are required. Sometimes it doesn't fully execute for the user because they close or click onto another page before the javascript is completely done. Is there anyway I can let all of the javascript load first and slow down the actual page load of the website.
By the way, I know someone will comment, by "does not work, I mean on the load of the page, the alert is not displayed, nor are any errors. Thanks for any help you can offer.
