Mysql Dropdown Fill Input Fields In Php
Apr 7, 2009I have a mysql database (name) which helds 3 fields, id, naam, email. In php I've made the connection and create a selection menu and with javascript I was able to display, (when I selected for example "Bas" in the selection menu), bas his name into a first input text field. Now a couple of things I still want but can't seem to get it right.
First: I also want to display "bas" his email address in a second input text field. (the database contains more names, but this an example).
Second: The selection menu starts with the first name in the database, but can I make it for example "Select name" as beginning.

Force Users To Fill Out Input Fields Before Clicking Submit?
Jun 14, 2011I am setting up a form to enter a chat queue on my website for work. The form script comes from the company we are using to host the chat, but the problem is that customers don't have to fill out anything to enter the queue. I want the users to have to fill out 3 of the 5 fields before they are able to click the sumbit button. I've found a few scripts on the web that looked they like would work, but they were all for radio selections, and I don't have enough javascript knowledge to switch the correct parameters to work with input.
This is the script I am using;

I need the name, comment1, and comment4 sections to be filled out before the submit will go through. I don't care if the button is not available until they are filled or a popup that asks for them to be filled out, just so long as they can't enter chat without us knowing their name and whatnot. From what I understand, the bulk of the form script needs to stay the same so it directs to us and not another company.

There are two radio buttons, sometimes one will be disabled, other times the other will be disabled. I would like to make a script that: First: Changes the color of surrounding text of the disabled radio button to the color grey. Second: Checks the other radio button.
This was my plan: I would make a script that: First: Removes all the current classes and add the class "greyed_out" (or better: change only the color of) the parent element, all siblings and children of siblings (if any) of the radio button that is disabled at that time.Second: Sets the attribute "checked to the other radio button". I made a script, but when I set the bottom radio button to disabled the script doesn't work:

Dynamically Enable & Disabled Form Fields?
Mar 10, 2010I have a form with 3 fields that will allow a user to search a database of clients by either name, email, or client id number. However, I would like the user to only be able to put information in one field. It can be done be either deleting the other two fields when the user inputs information into a different field, or by disabling the other two fields when the user enters information in one (and also frees up all fields if the user ends up deleting what they entered).
Below is a start of what I had. Basically, it will disable the fields when I mouse out of them but won't re-enable them when I mouse back in. As you can see, I tried various combinations of events. (My code below also doesnt null out the other fields when the user opts to use a different field than the one they first began to enter info in).

Aug 16, 2009the HTML spec says that disabled fields aren't submitted during post- back... but I want them to be submitted with ajaxSubmit using the Forms plugin. is this possible with an option now? or something I have to work around?

But what I want then is, items in the second are already in a array (this works) they also have a code and this code I want to display in a text input, when selecting an specific item in the second list. (I can display the item selected in the second list (but want the code behind that item to be displayed in the text field). Function assignprojectnum shows the item in the text field now.

Add And Delete Form Fields BUT A Textarea Or A Section Of Input Fields
Oct 11, 2006I have been looking for the past 2 days for a script that I can add and delete table rows.
I have found a lot but so far all of them add an input field but I desperatly need a textarea or ideally a section of input fields.
I have tried to change the code from input to text area but none of them worked.
Have you come across to a similar script.
I would appreciate any contributions.

We're having issues in IE7 where, on a form with file upload, form fields are being dropped before the form is submitted to the server.We tracked it down to the `fileUpload` function, specifically line 196 where each field in the form data has `.attr('disabled',false)` run against it. If we change this to`.prop('disabled',false)` it all works fine.I don't see a clearly marked place to submit bug reports for the form plugin, and wanted to verify that others see this as well,

Nov 21, 2010I'm having some trouble with my dynamically generated form fields.
As you can see I'm generating new form fields, but the problem lies within the grade field. I have it set up now so that when you change the grade the color of the <select> box changes relative to the grade. A-D are green, F is black with white text, Not Taken is just regular white with black text and In Progress is lightly shaded grey.
I want it so that each one can be changed individually, but I can't seem to be able to figure out how to do that. Heck if you change the first one's grade field, that colour follows the rest of the clones.

In other words, a user can input data to field A, or he can input data to filed B, but he can not input data to Both A and B at the same time.
