JQuery :: Limiting Character Input - Also Displaying Input Fields Contents

I have a pretty basic set of things I want to do: Capture key press, compare against an allowed list, block keys that are not in that list, replace a space by a dash if entered. As this is happening, I have a span I wanted to be updated with the live values. The username field at [URL] is exactly what I am trying to do, though I have trouble dissecting how they did it. Here is my attempt, which is off by one keypress for some reason.

I have one form on a page with 'n' text input fields grouped in blocks of the same input fields. Something like this:
<div id="block1">
name_1
lastname_1
address_1
phone_1
...
</div>
<div id="block2">
name_2
lastname_2
address_2
phone_2
...
</div>
...
The number of fields for each block varies because the page is constructed by a server function. What I want to implement is move up and a move down buttons on each block to move what the user has entered in say, block 4, to block 3 (and move the block 3 contents to block 4). And the contrary too.

I am having a form with two input fields. I want to enter some text in the first input field and then the second field should get the same text. Is there a simple way (maybe a plugin) to do this with jQuery? It would be perfect if I even could output all these input fields values as normal text in <p> or <li> tags.

I have a problem created by my complete [rookie] status – only second time venturing into jQuery. I created a simple shopping cart using php and the PayPal buttons (1: buy now, 2: add to cart). The php back end does it great, it generates the table and the buttons and everything works just like it’s supposed to; Except, I forgot to add sizes. So I found out what I need to add, and I realize that the way the buttons work, I will have two different text boxes for size. Not very visually appealing, and since I’m not submitting this to the server before it goes to PayPal to pay, I cannot modify it with php the way I normally would. jQuery / javascript are my only hope of making this work. What I want to do:Have a single textbox where [size] is entered by the user.
Copy the value from the [correct] text box to the Value=”” section of the now hidden field in the PayPal form That way, no matter whether they [BUY NOW] or [ADD to CART] the right size is submitted to the PayPal shopping cart. This is the actual PayPal code that I’m trying to change
<table>
<tr>
<td>
<input type="hidden" name="on1" value="Size" maxlength="200">Size</td>
[code].....
I got this far, and then decided to find how to insert the "enteredVALUE" into the right place in the input text field (what I called output) and I've not been able to figure out how to stuff it in there.

I am struggling to find definitive information on how IE 5.5, 6 and 7
handle character input (I am happy with the display of text).
I have two main questions:
1. Does IE automaticall convert text input in HTML forms from the
native character set (e.g. SJIS, 8859-1 etc) to UTF-8 prior to sending
the input back to the server?
2. Does IE Javascript do the same? So if I write a Javascript function
that compares a UTF-8 string to a string that a user has inputted into
a text box, will IE convert the user's string into UTF-8 before doing
the comparison?
I think that the answer to question 1 is probably "YES", but I cannot
find any information on question 2!

I'm not a JS expert, but is there any way to detect if there is a certain character at the ending of a sentence in a text input field?
for example, when a user puts "Hello, my name is Gary" into a certain text input with a specific ID and using the JS OnChange event, the script will add a period ( . ) if it is not detected.
or, when a period is detected at the end of the sentence ("Hello, my name is Gary."), it won't do anything.
I got this idea from reading the W3 School onchange doc, but I'm not sure if it's possible.

I'm trying to implement a OSC addon to update the options price in realtime fromww.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,1385, but it seems to only work with single characters currency symbols, like $, €, £, etc. any symbol that as more than one character, like Brazil Real R$, or C€, or Svenska Kronor Skr, doesn't work and the price doesn't update, it stays R$ 0.00 whatever options you choose.I need to use this contribution with the Brazil Real symbol at the left of price like R$ 999.00.Also I can't make it work like 10.000,00. It only works like 10,000.00. But this point is not so important.I have tried everything for some days, but I don't know javascript.Here is the code:
Code:

I have a form where a user will enter in the number of input fields they need (lets call them offices) and when they click the submit button a jQuery function appends the rows to a plain html table. This works fine, except I do not want the rows to be only vertical or horizontal. I want it to put three input fields on one row before going to the next. Here is the code I have:

I have 2 input fields.
Input 1: Website URL
Input 2: Website Directory
Firstly I would like the "http://" to automatically appear in input one and two and it can't be edited or removed. Then whatever is typed in input one, I would like it to automatically copy into input 2, and the user can't delete whats in input 2 without going through input 1. Then lastly the user can add data into input 2, without input 1 changing.
Here is an example:
Red = Can't be deleted Green = Can be changed Blue = additional text to input 2
Input 1: http://www.yourwebsite.com/
Input 2: http://www.yourwebsite.com/extra/directory
How to do this?

There are two input fields in a form, but only one of them is required, they are not required at the same time. Either A or B is required. ( A is required OR B is required). In other words, a user can input data to field A, or he can input data to filed B, but he can not input data to Both A and B at the same time. How to implement this constraint in Jquery form validation?

I am working on a form where users enter a Start Date and an End Date via a pop up calendar using JavaScript. This works well. From the results of that data, I need to
1) Calculate the number of days + 1;
2) Multiply #1 by $25 to get the amount allocated for meals - and I need it done dynamically.
Now, I can get this to work using onblur in the two input fields for the dates, but that means users would have to put the focus within the input fields after they've done the calendars and tab or click else where in order for the values to take effect and the javascript to calculate the correct values for meal. It was suggested to try to use jquery, which I have been trying to no avail and I'm just wondering if I am doing this wrong. I thought .trigger or .triggerHandle would do it, but nothing seems to happen.
Here's my script I'm trying to use to activate these scripts:
<script type="text/javascript">
$("#en_date").blur(function() {
$("#input25").triggerHandler("blur");});
$("#input25").blur(function() {
$("#en_date").trigger("blur");
}
</script>
My input fields have this:
<br /><b>* Start date - </b>
<input type="text" id="st_date" name="st_date" maxlength="25" size="25" value="<?php echo $st_date; ?>" onblur="cal7();" />
<a href="#" onClick="cal13.select(document.forms[0].st_date,'st_date','yyyy-MM-dd'); return false;" TITLE="cal13.select(document.forms[0].st_date,'st_date','yyyy-MM-dd'); return false;" NAME="st_date" ID="st_date">
<img src="images/cal.gif" border="0" width="16" height="16" alt="Pick a date" />
</a><br />
<b>* End date - </b> .....
The End Date is tied to the Start Date, as you can tell above. For the calendar, I am making it launch with this command:
<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript" ID="js13">
var cal13 = new CalendarPopup();
</SCRIPT>
I've tried just using a simple if/then statement within my javascript that calculates the values, but it doesn't launch automatically, which is my problem, and it should launch immediate after the "End Date" variable has been entered. Everything else works.

I am using the $(load) function to populate a div in my HTML with form. The code snippets look something like this.
<html>
...
...
<div id="formArea"></div>
...
...
</html>
$('#formArea').load('content/myForm.txt');
The form loads fine, but the input controls no longer work once the form is loaded using this AJAX technique.
