I have some form fields that the user can either type in or he can check a checkbox so that MySQL data for an option selected from a dynamically generated (PHP/MySQL) select menu is filled in. How can this be implemented? I have the code for the select menu.

what i want to do is have a selection from 'tst' trigger an input into 'choose' from the data inputted into the 'fname' and 'lname' fields.
for example, i want option '1', when selected to draw the input from 'fname' and place it into 'choose'
or i might want to select the data in 'lname' instead, so i will tie option 2 to it, so when the user selects option 2 the contents of 'lname' go into 'choose' instead.
I have a mysql database (name) which helds 3 fields, id, naam, email. In php I've made the connection and create a selection menu and with javascript I was able to display, (when I selected for example "Bas" in the selection menu), bas his name into a first input text field. Now a couple of things I still want but can't seem to get it right.
First: I also want to display "bas" his email address in a second input text field. (the database contains more names, but this an example).
Second: The selection menu starts with the first name in the database, but can I make it for example "Select name" as beginning.

I've been searching for about an hour now trying to figure out how to do the following. I have a form I'm updating and I'm trying to create a checkbox or link that onclick/oncheck will update all fields in the form to the same value. I found the following code that does what I want EXCEPT I can't get it work with value[]. In the following code, MY form would have form fields like <input type="text" name=" shippingname []"> (note the []) because I'm looping thru multiple entries when I submit the form.

I need profile data to auto-refresh on the page when a change is made in the database but every 15-30 seconds intervals are fine too. I would really like to use AJAX/PHP for this because I think it will be good for me to know and learn.
I have checked the internet for this and all of the examples show a form select/combobox where you select a "User" and then it populates the information automatically in a div below.
But... I need AJAX or PHP to READ THE VARIABLE FROM THE URL instead of a form(Combobox) and ultimately refresh the data on the page with the results from the DB query in the php file.
i have a script which i found on the internet. i modify that script according to my needs. what is in that script is there are three form fields with two buttons. one button is "Give me more fields" clicking on this button will give you more fields. and second button is submit so the data goes to server side and will be added to db. the problem is when i click give me more fields it gives me three more fields which is right but when i fill all these fields and click submit button it adds to the db but the data in the first three fields adds in the one row and the other three fields data adds in separate row which is not fine for me. so how can i do this so all the data will be added to only one row.

I need to auto fill a form from a email link from a online ticket system. the problem is i have the ticket system in a iframe on my site. so when they click the link it goes on just the ticket system webpage. with out the iframe so i made a page point to it with my site around it. but when the email is click it loads my site and page but dosent fill in the forum. unlike the one with out the iframe. here is a example of the email link. I am having no luck with my post form to mysql. It is only posting the first letter of the word/phrase for the text input fields to the mysql database. It is a photo and text post form. The photo and only first letter of text are posting to database. I am using Jqtouch, jquery, and phonegap.

What I am looking to do is auto-populate a number of forms based on what a user chooses as a starting date.
For example:
If a user enters 12/12/2009 I want the other fields to automatically populate with the next 2 weeks (12/13/2009, 12/14/2009, 12/15/2009 etc.)
Anyone have a useful script that I can use given that these fields are formatted as dates?
The idea is to save time by only having to fill in the first date in the timesheet.
I have here a code that will automatically generate two text fields (Title & Price) when "Add another article" is pressed. I got this from the web, but I want instead of using a text field, I want it to create a drop down menu based on a mysql table, then update the price automatically (also based on the mysql table) on the other text field once a selection has been made on the drop down menu.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI know it's messy and all to send data this way, but it's what was decided on, so here's what I need to do with it. I want to take all the info from the query string and post it into the corresponding form fields in the document. So I need to somehow isolate the query string (maybe a global JS variable? maybe another method?) and then I was thinking it would work to somehow pull each piece of information delimited with &= and put them into a simple array (split() method?). Once I have the info pulled from the URL into an array, I thought I could simply update the field's value attribute with basic javascript like this:
form1.SubscriberID.value=1523;
Then, all the values would be automatically loaded into the correct form fields. But, since I'm a js newbie, I really dont know how to go about this. Ideas? Examples? Remember I'm new, so explaining every process might be in order.
I need to create a form that expands or collapses with more or less fields to fill in when the user selects or deselects a check box on it. This form also needs to be secure. What is the best way to accomplish this?

I tried to alter an example I found (w3 schools) where they showed how use a selection table to pull a specific line out of a mysql table, using the "q" (not really sure if the "q" character is important or not). xmlhttp.open("GET","xxxxxxx.php?q="+str,true) I follow what they were doing there, but I want to pull the entire table back not just specific lines. (So I got rid of the Q)

I am coming to the end of creating my website, and want to incorporate something like the link shown below:-

You can see here that there is a large image and 3 smaller images, and the user can hover over the image to zoom into it.

As you can see i have not yet incorprated the image zoom.
The images are being pulled from a database so i would want to be able to click on the different thumbnails and fill the large image box with the selected image, and also have the option to hover over to zoom..
I have a form, and when a user inserts their username (desired) I want the text they enter into that field to automatically appear inside another field. However, this other field also already has a default value which is a folder structure, I want to leave the folder structure in place /publuc_html/ftp/ and add whatever has been added to the username field to the end of this so the folder will then read /publc_html/ftp/steve and if possible include a trailing slash. I have the form and input fields, just cant figure out how to add the above function to it.

I was wondering if there is a way to have a page with a starting price of $299 (lets say a basic vacuum) then below that are 20 or so customizable add-ons to choose from through simple checkboxes. That (to me) should be easy enough, but I would love to have the grand total at the bottom of the page be updated in real time as the user checks or unchecks certain add-ons (kind like how apple.com does it).
What is a good starting point for this, and would it be possible to send out the order as an email with the total price sent to the business owner.

I am trying to display a rel of each option as they are selected into a div below it . There are several selects of classProductAvailability on the page. When one of the selects changes, I'd like the value of the rel of the selected option to display.At first it seems to work, but only if you start by changing the last pull down menu. The trouble seems to be in the"select.ProductAvailability option:selected", this needs to be written for this instance, not all of the selects of that class on the page. How do I write that, I've tried$(this+" option:selected") but it won't take.
