E-commerce Prevent Form Submit?

Oct 10, 2011

I am using an e-commerce solution to run my web business. The checkout portion of the website is COMPLETELY closed off to me and I can't access the files.What I need: A javascript example / solution that will prevent someone from submitting a form without first filling in a field.What I currently have is a series of radio buttons built into the checkout process. It displays 20 options and the customer has to choose which one of the twenty options applies to them. Each customer only has 2 valid options to choose from based on their zip code, but currently the other zip code shipping options are listed as wellI have built a javascript that works great hiding all of the shipping options, taking data from the customer, and then only showing the correct shipping option. The problem is, if the customer doesn't fill this out, then they can just hit submit and pay the default shipping option without ever seeing that they didn't choose the correct zip code

<input type="hidden" name="mode" value="apply">

Disabling Submit Button - Prevent Double Data Submission

Apr 12, 2011

I have a simple PHP form and to prevent double data submission, once the user has clicked 'submit', I want to disable the submit button using JavaScript. It was recommended in another thread that one could accomplish this using jQuery and the following code:

Code JavaScript:
$('input[type="submit"]').click( function() { $(this).attr('disabled','disabled'); } );

However, I also read that some browsers don't like having the submit button disabled, and that a more "elegant" way to do things would be:

JQuery :: Submit And Reloading Form Values After Submit Button Is Clicked?

In the following .submit function, I am attempting to grab the value of the selected option in the facilityCodes dropdown list when I click the submit button and then during the submit function,select the facilityCode again in the dropdown list when the page reloads and then disable the list so that the user cannot change it.However,the situation is when I reload the page after the submit button is clicked the dropdown defaults to the first option and the list is enabled.I apparently am not understanding how.submit works so that I'm selecting the option I'm defining in my code below and then disabling the list AFTER the page reloads due to an error on the page. My question is how can I accomplish this?Here is my code:

JQuery :: Disable Submit Button On Form Submit?

Here's what I have:

$(function() {
$('form').each(function() {
$(this).submit(function(){

I can't figure out what my selector should be to get the submit button of the form that's being submitted. What should I be using instead? Also, if the call errors out, I'd like to just post the form as usual.

Prevent Form Submission Twice On Doubleclick In NN6.

Jul 20, 2005

I have a form in which I have this link :- <
href="javascript:submitform(parameters );"> . In the JavaScript
function submitform, there is the code for submitting the form.Thi
works fine with single click on both IE,NN6.In IE the form is submitte
only once even for double click.But if you double click on the link i
NN6, the form is submitted twice. This causes problem. The workaroun
for this was that we set a flag(indicating form submission) in th
submitform function, we also set a timer which calls the functio
resetflag after 3 seconds.So any click within 3 seconds of the firs
click will be ignored (so that the form is not submitted for the secon
click).

function submitform(params)
{
if(flag==0)
{
flag=1;
timeout = setTimeout('resetflag()',3000);
document.form1.action = someURL;
document.form1.submit();
}}

function resetflag()

flag=0;

Prevent Form Submission Unless Certain Criteria Met?

Sep 10, 2009

I am building an online store and need to restrict checkout unless a customer has bought at least $20 of items. If they have >$20, they can check out. If they have <$20, they should get an error when they click the checkout button that will explain that there is a $20 minimum. I don't want them to be able to checkout, so maybe I also need to disable the button or hide it?

Here are the two elements in my HTML:

The total price div:
Code:

The checkout button:

However IE/Opera only show the red error if you put a value in the input. But they still do not prevent submission. In IE/Opera it goes strait to the php validation.

Form Validation - Prevent Certain Buttons Firing

I have a general form validation question. I know very little about

I'd like to prevent this if it was the cancel button that was clicked (and
preserve form submission on pressing Enter whilst in the 'title' box.

Prevent Form Submission With Dynamic Onsubmit?

Oct 2, 2005

I'm trying to create a form whose onsubmit returns false if the form
should not be submitted. Normally this type of thing works great for
me:

<form onsubmit="return somefunction()">

where somefunction returns false. But I'm trying to do some thing where
in some
script block, the function gets added:

form.attachEvent("onsubmit", function () { return somefunction()
});

(not worrying about crossplatformosity, sorry). But that doesn't work,
the form is always submitted. Is there something else I need to be
doing to make this happen?

Javascript Submit Problem : Form Won't Submit

Jul 23, 2005

So, here's my problem :

I've created a table in my document, presenting a list of items, one
can 'select' by clicking on it... (Kinda like a menu, you make your
choice from) But since this table can get very long, I've put
something of a 'search-form' on top, which enables the user to make a
selection of products from the list.

Now, the form uses a "post" method, and submits to itself, using the
form action. Some PHP script will make sure that the form is filled
out already, the next time it's presented.

The table, containing a list of products is presented, below the form.
When a user clicks on a product, the product should be "selected". At
first i just used a <a href="zoeken.php?prod_id=24"> link to do this,
but the problem is that my form won't remain in tact.

So now, the global idea is to submit the form after setting a hidden
form-field using JavaScript, using a onClick event.

Here's my code :
