Is there a way to display the file selection window for a file input field via JavaScript? My goal is to emulate the behavior seen in Yahoo! Mail BETA. When adding an attachment, it displays a file selection window when you click a custom button/icon. I saw an example of using CSS to actually position the browse button behind an image. I am hoping that isn't the only option.
I have a simple html form that asks a user to select a state from a drop down list. Later, in the same form, there's a question that needs to display an image of the state they previously selected from the drop down menu. How can I accomplish this using javaScript?
I have a dropdown box which should display an appropriate text box only when a particualar option is selected. Currently, the textboxes are displayed all the time. I do have a Javascript function that works for 2 options(hides always and displays only when the correct option is selected). But I need it to work for 3 options. Here is the code. You can copy and paste this code as an HTML file and you will know what I refer to.
I have a long list consisting of a name and associated number, like this:
SITE01 2111 SITE02 4567 SITE03 5555 and so on.
I would like to put two dropdown boxes where the user can select either the name or the number. Then based upon the users selection have both the name and number appear. I'm thinking of putting all the data in an array and using the dropdowns to query the array.
This code is able to display a table and show me state, County, Genus and GenusCount and also it shows when I select option as All for Counties in my drop down. it can based on which it can change my table and give me State, all the Counties, its Genus, GenusCount but when I select a particular County and then select for genus in my drop down menu. It is not working correctly. This is my code.http://paste.flingbits.com/m58f9160Example: If I select `Tennessee->Anderson->All` it should display in tables
I'm using onchange to trigger an event when a file has been select, however if a user closes the triggered event, then selects the same file the event will not trigger again (I'm assuming because it doesn't recognize this as a change). It works if a user selects a file, closes the event, then selects a different fileHowever it does not work when the same file is selected.
Within a classic asp webform (using vbscript) I would like part of the form (input boxes within table structure) to be specific/displayed depending on the users selection from the combo box in the row above.
I think the best solution would be using Javascript can anyone suggest a solution or example code?
I want to have several forms on one page that are not displayed until a selection is made from the category drop down box(select element). The form displayed will depend on the selection made. Here is the code I have so far.
I am very inexperienced with javasciprt. I am designing a form in coldfusion, and want some dynamic action to take place. My users will be offered 2 selections via radio buttons. Depending on which radio button they select, they will get a few more radio buttons to choose from. I have been told that this can be handled in javascript. So I am appealing to the javascript programmer nation for some assistance in this endeavor.

I'm trying to figure out how to tackle this problem: I have an XML table with a cool grid in which users can select a table row. When they right-click on a cell, they get a modal dialog window with a selection menu. What I want this thing to do is display the different values in the row, so that users can make a selection: eventually I want it to be a filter option > in the selection menu, users can select the value on which they want the whole table to be filtered. However, I'm seriously lacking js-skills so I don't know how I should pass the values from the table row to the selection menu. Code:
I need to open a new window from an existing HTML page to a site in which we do not want to show the address for. I have set the titlebar to no but it will still place the title on the titlebar Here's my function code:
function myOpen() { window.open("http:// www.somewhere.com","mywindow","location=no,titlebar=no"); }
How does one cause a form element to appear ONLY if a certain form selection is made before it?
That is for example say there is a form element of type Radio called "format" so only if they select format value = normal then the form input fields called URL and Name are to appear as the next choices otherwise form input field Group and checklist Places are to appear as the next choices.
I want an address or assistance on the following: in my page I do a form with a simple select I would like after validation of this select display (without reloading) another form (more complete) after id sent by the 1st form
small precision: the values of the second form are in a BDD and must be displayed
I have a table that is written from 'display' window to 'register' window. It is a CART TABLE. It is suposed to cut down on posts to the server and is written entirley with client side javascript. There should really be ony one post to the server when the clients' order is complete and the adjustable table is posted.The cart table in 'register' window has two viewable rows and has a scrollable window in the Y plane. One fixed Header and The getElementsbyClassName works with 'sumsubtotal()' but not with 'qtymultiply()' and this might be a result of refrencing the same class 'itemrow' twice even though I've declared them localy within seperate functions, my guess is that the getElementsByClassName is global and can only refrence the class 'itemrow' once?
Using a UI dialog I'd like to load in 10 or so images. Each would be unique and after you click on one the following needs to happen:
1. Image appears on the parent page in a specified ID.
2. A "hidden" field is updated so that when the user submits the db is updated with their selection.
3. Dialog closes automatically.
That's it. Basically it would work similar to "datepicker".I'm using the latest 1.4 and ui and been making great progress as learning basics. I need to do the above and it seems like such a no brainier and or it should already exist but after 2 days of searching and trial and error...
The first button displays "The page cannot be displayed...". The 2nd button displays new window displaying the drives on the PC, such as A:, C: and D:.
Why does <a> works but not the code? Could you try the code and fix it? May be I need to provide the file type but do not know the syntax.
Is there any sample code to use Javascript to load and display a text file?
It will be best if the user can select files using some kind of explorer. If that's complex, a text box to specify the file name will be fine as well. Once a text file is selected, I just need to display it in a text box.
I don't get any pleasing results... in the file, there are 'quoted printable' characters that are displayed as their corresponding hex value, and their encoding seems to be in windows-1256. I've tried messing around with contentType but didn't get any results.
I cannot modify the '.eml' files, so I have to load and process them in jQuery (hopefully). So is there some sort of library or built-in function that I can use?
this is the code I'm using in order to display the contents of an xml file into a page. It's working fine with IE but with Firefox.I have searched over intrenet and have applied all suggestions I've found about this issue. Unfortunately it's still not working
function importXML() { if (document.implementation && document.implementation.createDocument)
I have a webcam that uploads an image to my non-profit's website via FTP every 15 seconds. The filename is webcam.jpg. I have a javascript that automatically reloads the image (NOT the entire page) every 15 seconds as well. The script is as follows:
<script type="text/javascript"> function reloadImage() { var now = new Date(); if (document.images) { document.images.myobject.src = 'images/webcam.jpg?' + now.getTime(); }setTimeout('reloadImage()',15000); }setTimeout('reloadImage()',15000); </script>
The script works great--the webcam image refreshes every 15 seconds without refreshing the entire page. What I'm trying to do is add javascript that will also display the timestamp of the webcam.jpg file when the image is refreshed (so that people know what time/date the image they're looking at was taken). I'm guessing this involves some sort of AJAX request, but I haven't the foggiest idea how to make it happen.
