I'm trying to get points form xml file with for loop, put them inside path that represent my line on gmap. It fails. I tried a lot. XML is GPX file and its not a problem to pull data out with XMLHttpRequest. Then i have for loop:

I know there are script that will do this sort of thing but they always return the value relative to the whole document (top left of browser screen is 0,0) i would like the coordinates relative to the image (topleft of image is 0,0)

Using onclick=window.open function in js to open a pdf file link in a new popup window. Works fine to display the file onscreen, but not if the user wants to save the file client-side to their computer. The right-hand-button context menu for the mouse will allow the user to download, but the file saved will be a html dump file for the webpage and the name of the file will be that for the webpage. Of course I can use the easy <a href> method for download links and the mouse context menu options will be as expected, but I can only use target="-blank" or target="_self". I need a popup window to open.

to advise users how to save the file, and could use:

To eliminate most mouse context menu options, so the user won't bother try. So how can I get a link to a file which can be viewed in a popup window and downloaded using mouse right-hand context menu?

Assume that span#target has a line break, when I see a browser. Then I click span#target, above function returns the head of coordinates which second line ("hhh") has. I want to have the coordinates which first line ("eee") has. How can I get that?

Id like to control scrolling of two divs with one scrollbar as in this example here

At the same time i want to customize the scrollbar. Ive been using Flexcroll which work fine on a single div. But as soon as i insert flexcroll.js to head of document in the example, the sync of the two divs breaks and only the div with Flexcroll attached scrolls.
Anyone know how to solve this? You can find the code im using in the example or i can post.I dont have to use Flexcroll, so if you know of any other application that can customize scrollbar and control scroll on two divs at the same time.

How to use Javascript to draw a rectangle when the user drags the mouse across the webpage?
I know the drawing methods but how do we allow the user to be able to draw a rectangle on the webpage?
e.g When the user drags the mouse across the page and releases the mouse button, a rectangle appears.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWell, not really a question but I'm pretty pleased with this JS I wrote I had to create triangles for this project I'm on, but there really isn't much out there in the way of that. Especially for things like mouseover effects.
Give it a go, let me know what you think! The only limitation atm is one side of the triangle MUST be flat, facing NSE or W. It's going to have functionality for specifying any 3 coordinates soon, and dragable capability as well a few more bits.

Using the jQuery SVG plugin, is it possible to load a large .svg and then only draw certain parts on an as needed basis? For example, if you have an outline of all U.S. states but the user only wants to see a certain state. Taking their input, you draw just those lines that are needed.
