View 9 RepliesI need to refresh multiple images on my site. So every time the page gets refreshed the images need to change. It worked fine with the script below, but this is only related to 1 image
I tried to copy the script and change the "ID's" but this does not do the job.
What should I change/add to the script below?

In body:
What I want is when I submit my page the scroll position shows a specific area. I tried this but it didn't work(FF,OP6):mad:
<?php
if($_POST["submit"]){
print "<script type='' language='JavaScript'>
self.scrollTo(0, 100);
</script>";?>
<html>

<title>Untitled</title>

<form action="" method="POST" id="myForm">
<input type="submit" name="" value="Top" id="myButton">

<!--a lot of html code-->

I'm trying to make an ajax post to some php and whenever the user clicks the submit button, it reloads the page and is adding the serialized data to the URL thus breaking the page and giving me an error that I do not have a person selected. I've tried adding "return false;" everywhere I can and it still doesn't work. Here's my code:
// EDIT CONTACT AJAX
$("editForm").submit(function() {
$.post("/ajax/edit-contact.php", $("editForm").serialize(),
function(data) {[code]...
// I've tried adding a "return false;" here and it doesn't work
}
// I've tried adding a "return false;" here and it doesn't work
);
// I've tried adding a "return false;" here and it doesn't work
I'm using the greatInline Modal Window w/ CSS and jQuery from [url] and it's working great. Now I want use it with an form in it:action="?" method="post"
When form is send the popup is closed, how can I prevent this? I think that happens because the whole page is send. Can I set an extra parameter so the popup opens when the page is reloaded?
I saw this on the website for the new blackberry playbook and want to do something similar to that. [url]... Does anyone know of a script that will let me have 5 pictures or so and it will automatically go through them all but you can fastforward to the picture you like by clicking on a dot at the bottom like on the blackberry website? Hope I explained that well enough
View 5 Replies View RelatedThe jQuery Cycle Plugin is very good, My site is usingit on the home page, the code is exactly as on the basic example here: [URL] The example above works very good in all browsers, except of Internet Explorer 9. In Internet explorer, for some reason, it just shows all pictures at the same time (please see the screenshot capture attached). I'm just wondering if anyone else has bumped into the same problem and if there is any way to fix it.

I need to refresh a div which contains an ad while the rest of the page stays the same. I think I'm pretty close by reading the previous posts on this site, but one odd thing is tripping me up and I can't figure out why. When I call my function to refresh the div, it replaces everything on the page instead of just swapping out the div. Code:

View 10 Replies View RelatedI'm new to javascript and im trying to add a close button function to my certain pages of my site. I use this code:
<a href='javascript:window.close();'>Close Window</a>
to create a hyperlink which closes the window. However with pages which
display data retrieved from a database using PHP i use a form to submit
a search on the page which displays results. At the bottom of the page
is the close window link, however it fails to work once a form has been
submitted on the page. It only works when the page first loads.
Any ideas guys on how i can get a close window option that works on my
results page after submitting a search?
Is there a method to check if a user refreshed a page?
I'm designing an online psychological experiment and I want to see if the user refreshed a page (to see if he was trying to see an image that he was supposed to see only once).
I am very new to javascript so I'm sorry if this is a stupid question. I made this page by pecing scripts together that I found online. I don't even know if this is the best way to get my desired results. I want the background to fill up the entire window, as well as the text and link to remain on the bottom in their respective corners and also re-size with the window. The code doesn't work the first time the page is loaded, but it works fine after it is refreshed. Do y'all have any suggestions on how to fix this.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am passing an argument from the first page to the second using form "get" method.
My second html page is a dynamic page.So i couldn't retain the data which im getting from the first page because when the second page is refreshed the data is lost as the URL content is changed.
I have several switch menus that are VITAL to my website's navigation. They all worked very well when I tested the pages in all browsers. However, I finally FTPed my site to the internet, now when you click a link from a switch menu, instead of staying opened due to the onLoad function in the body, they do not appear.
Strangely, the only way to get my switch menus to show is to refresh the page.
I'm loading external div content into another page div based on the hash. It works fine but when you click the link, the page loads, but it's blank. If you refresh the page it appears.I'm looking for some way to refresh the content (once).
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a form within an iframe that I want to use to refresh the location of the parent. I am using the form to set session variables that are used within the parent. So in the iframe I have:
<form name="MyForm" method="POST"
action="<?php echo $_SERVER['PHP_SELF'] . '?' . SID; ?>">
And to submit this form I'm using this link:
<a href="javascript: submitform()">Search</a>
Which refers to this script:
<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript">
<!--
function loadParent()
{
parent.location.href = "/search_results.php?";
}
function submitform()
{
document.MyForm.submit();
loadParent();
}
//-->
</SCRIPT>
(I think!) my problem is this; it works fine if the MyForm action, i.e. ="<?php echo $_SERVER['PHP_SELF'] . '?' . SID; ?>", completes before loadParent() is executed but if there is a slight delay in the time it takes for the server to do this, loadParent() is executed too early and the input from MyForm is lost.
What I need is to tell the script to wait until the MyForm action has completed, i.e. the page has refreshed, before running loadParent(). I'm sure there are loads of different ways of doing this. Ideally I would like something that detects the page refresh within the iframe (caused by the MyForm action) and not something that relies on a timed delay loop.
I am trying to count the characters in a text area in a form for sending sms from web to phone. Bulk sms standard is: maximum sms pages are 7 i.e 1071 characters; page 1 contains 160 characters, page 2 contains 146 characters and the rest 5 pages contains 153 characters.
Here is a javascript function I wrote but it's not working
function countPage(){
var clPg1 = 160; //character limit for page 1
var clPg2 = 146; //character limit for page 2
var clOtherPg = 153; //character limit for other pages

View 24 Replies View RelatedI've been looking without success for a slide show program that will rotate web pages as opposed to just images. Am I best off just using a banner rotation script or is there something out there that is available for that purpose. The wish list is for a full page rotation ( the page uses SSI) possible fading of images in IE and being able to vary the time of each image. Asking alot?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a javascript that displays couple of buttons, which are

I'm using Drip 0.5 to test for a memory leak in some code. After reducing
the page down bit by bit to find the leak, I ended up with an empty page
that still leaked!
The page source is exactly this:
<html>
<head><title></title></head>
<body></body>
</html>
It doesn't leak the same amount each page load - sometimes it's 8192,
sometimes it's 16384, sometimes even reducing the memory load. But the
overall trend is an upward movement. I let it run for 10 minutes and it
leaked almost 10MB, so it's about 1MB/min.
This is not a serious leak, but it's making it harder to know if a leak is
caused by the js code or this other thing going on.
Has anyone else run into this? Any ideas what the problem is? I've shut down
all processes, removed all IE add-ons, etc, but no change.
I am using the following code from this site.
but for some reason if the page is long the whole page scrolls up so the top of the calendar is at the top of the browser, which actually hides the box that the date will end up in.
can anyone see how I can alter the code so that the page does not scroll up, but have the calendar show just below the box that the date will go in and the page does not scroll?
here is the full code that I am using to test this out with. code...
Just wondering if an included javascript can be reloded?
Say one has a script tag:

Can the "scripts/DTV3.js" be replaced by a URL and have it dynamically
loaded?
I have a div which will show when javascript is disabled, and I turn it off using:
$(document).ready(function(){
$("#noscript").hide()

However, it is appearing ont the page in Firefox for a split second when the page loads. Is there a way to stop this? The site is on localhost at the moment but I can easily upload it if need be.
I am using jQuery and BlockUI to display a "Loading..." message to theuser while the page is loading.The problem is that the "Loading..." message seems to show up AFTERthe page has loaded, not during load. Shouldn't the document.readyfire sooner than that?What am I doing wrong?
<script>
$(document).ready(function() {
$.blockUI();
