I have been developing JavaScript for websites on and off for about a year now, and have recently been working on a website project with a couple friends (the url). The project is about done and I think I'm ready to start telling everyone about it, but I thought I'd have some coders with more experience go through my code and suggest improvements that can no doubt be made. I've tested with the Error Console and run it through JSLint, so there shouldn't be too many worries there. It uses jQuery with no extensions. The code is fairly small so it shouldn't be too much of a hassle, only a couple hundred lines, nonetheless I won't post such a conglomeration here unless it is explicitly requested.

The result is a plugin with less than 300 lines of code that does absolutely no form validation at all. I was wondering if there were a snippet that I could add to my JavaScript code that would alert me when the .js file has been executed remotely?
Basically I want to be able to tell which websites have my script on them, so maybe something I could encode with jscrambler that would send me an email message with the url that the code is being run from or better yet if I could set up some code on a website of mine that would show all the urls that have had the .js executed on them?

My website was recently ftp hacked and a file inserted into it - js.php - which seems to be some sort of advertising spam programme. Having spotted the file I have renamed it to hide it but lots of other sites are still referring into my site looking for this php file. I am looking for a script that would enable users to rate and review products (ie rate it from 1-10 and leave comments about the product). The script must run on a NT server and be free. I know such a script must exist, but I have searched various script archives with no success. I have been considering hacking out my own using a flat file database, but I don't really have the time and don't want to re-invent the wheel.

I actually got two questions.it's regarding the website URL...
1) I'm building up the content from the database using JSON. Currently for each entry I build up the HTML code via Jquery and append it to the div. Is this the best way to do this or can this be done better/more efficient?
2) in the generated content I have a link that triggers the 'show/hide' function of a div below (URL...). Currently it doesn't work within the generated content. At the moment when clicking the link, it should create and alert, but even that isn't working. Is it possible to have a JQuery trigger within JQuery generate content?

I am trying to make a gui for clients to edit a php page that displays html and javascript.
I want the user to be able to move html elements around and even edit it like add effects like fade in and out etc.
Then after all the changes I want to overwrite the existing php file that does this for that user. how can you make such changes and then save it to a file?
It's an html / javascript editor but using a gui instead of allowing them to directly touch the code. It would be a security risk if I allow such a thing. So I need to program a interface that would make such changes and save them to file.
Like how can you delete and add new javascript code to the file?

I have a routine that creates some HTML on the fly (updateFilters() function) and after the HTML is created, I attempt to access some fields (elements) on the form itself.
I works fine if I place an alert() statement after the HTML is created, but when I remove, the code errors out.
I have tried the setTimeout() statement, but I cannot grab the element --- undefined or null is returned. It seems that the form is the only element I can get a handle on --- everything else is undefined or null...

Do I have to pass the object (the form, the elements) to the completeEdit() function in the setTimeout() statement?
This works fine when I place this code under the html in the main source, but if I try to add this Jquery code to an external js sheet it doesnt seem to work?
Currently my js sheet is called in the header, when I move this link to the footer of my page the code works again, so Im guessing this has something to do with where the jquery code is placed in relation to the code Im trying to hide?
How I can keep my js in the header but still make the content disappear on click?
