I want this to be dynamically passed as a variable to the java script.I use a PHP code, where this javascript is coded.
In the below code, if I say

If you use javascript/dhtml to, say, add a text field to a web page. If you then navigate away from this page and back again using the back button the added text field is lost and the web page is back to how it was prior to any dhtml changes.
I assume this is because the browser is using the cached version and not the changed dhtml version.
How can I force the changed web page to be cached so that when returning to the page the dhtml version is the page I see with the added text field?
Could anyone know the script code for a WEBPAGE ON TOP OF A WEBPAGE? The site was not working anymore, so I can't tell you the link. This is what I saw, When I visited the site (Mainpage) There's just a Welcome Image that shows CLICK HERE TO ENTER. After clicking the link, a loading faded icon appears on top of Welcome Image covering that Welcome Image with Webpages, it's like popping to the center of the page. I don't know if someone of you could understand me. It's like Page on TOP of another Webpage without leaving the 1st page.

I'm running a basic hello world page:
Whenever I open the page in Chrome, my "Hello" message pops up, but in any other of my browsers, it doesn't. This page is also being hosted basically from a file on my computer, on the C drive.
I am new to Javascript and I have created a website using a javascript tamplet for a slide show.
The website works good in all browsers, except in internet explorer! this is a big problem for me since many people have tried to look at the site in internet explorer and it didn't work and it is just not good..
Is there a piece of code that can be added to the HTML to tell internet explorer to run the script?
The script I use has jquery tool tip to display personal data and when the member last visited the site. My problem is when I hover over the image, the tool tip will be covered by youtube video. I tried using z-index in css but that did not help.I'm no javascript programmer, but I was hoping there was a simple solution to make sure the jquery tool tip is on top of the other images/videos (the tool tip will also be covered by adsense image ads).

I'm writing this in case it might help someone who hates Internet Explorer as much as I do. I'm fairly new to jquery so many people may already know this but this one stumped me pretty good.I had my code in document ready but for some reason all of it wasn't executing. It would just stop at a certain point. All the code executed fine in Chrome, Opera, Firefox, and Safari. Only internet explorer got hung up on a line of code that i wrote in regular javascript and not in jquery syntax and just would not continue after that. After changing it to jquery syntax it worked.[code]

I wanted to create a small DHTML code that created a unordered list of input forms dependent on the number selected from the select dropdown menu. Problem is that it doesn't seem to want to generate the list. I think the variables are within the scope of the function too, and I didn't get an errors from the javascript console when using firebug. I am trying to put up a page for my students for them to be able to enter
their class number into a field and instantly get a personalized text
message. (ie student number 5 enters "5" and gets a message like
"Congratulations on your homerun in Kickball Bobby!"
I currently have an alert message box appearing which asked the user to visit a website to take a survey. What I would ideally like is a message box appearing which gives them two options in the form of buttons. Yes to take the survey now, which would link to the web page. The second button being cancel which would close the message box, which is normally done with the OK button now.
Any ideas how this can be done?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using $.post to send an HTTP Post Request to my web page and I receive the generated HTML code within the corresponding callback function. Unfortunately, the browser does not reload the web page automatically to see the changes of the request. For sure, I could use document.window.reloaed() to make them visible, but instead I simply wanna use the returned HTML code to change web page.
I have tried several javascript statements, such as window.childNodes[0].innerHTML = data or window.clear() but nothing works. Then, I saw the option of using $(document).html(data) but this is also not the approriate one.
I have the following code which *should* change the image I have on my webpage to images based on the time.

I don't know why this won't work. It should compare the hour variable (h) to the hour, and then change the image based on that. However it doesn't do this, and I'm not sure why. I've tried using both = and ==, but neither seem to work. Like I said I am a newbie to this sort of stuff.Also, would there be a way of making the el.src to: "images/timedate/"+[the hour]+".png" without the need of directly comparing the hours? It would be useful if it was possible, as I need to do a minutes one as well
