I am trying to make a bunch of checkbox inputs and then a button input. when you click the button it will display all the checkboxes clicked. If I can control the output that would be great (not "true", like I want to type my own alert), anyone know how? I just want the simplest way, no ifs or elses or anything like that.
I have a page with many links to media player playlists. I want to place a checkbox next to each title so that the user can check the box when they have listened to the selection.
The boxed needs to remained checked when the user comes back to the page so that they know where they left off. I also need to be able to manually uncheck the boxes.
Basically, I need to be able to check and uncheck the box at will and have it be the same when I come back to the page.
I have looked at some onclick scripts but nothing has worked yet. There may be a better way to do this that I have not thought of. Dynamic HTML, applets, etc.
I have a CGI that logs into a a secure site of mine. Basically, all the CGI does is send the username and password I have set up, and then the normal page opens in my brower. But, I would rather send this HTML to a file, parse it, and spit out a different page depending on the user that's logged in.
The problem is that once the username/password gets passed to the web server, it opens to a new page, the default page. How can I get the HTML from that page without it opening in the browser?
I am new to Javascript and have a really simple script that I have wrote that allows users to answer two separate questions and then hit a calculate button and it some some simple math.That part is working, a working example is here Calculate Example (www.omgmod.com/calculate.html) and the code is :
I am working with the CUSTOM WIDGET from the DATE PICKER - JQUERY PLUGINI have got everything working fine. The value from the user is now inserted in a element. That's nice, but how do I post that value so I can use it in (like the other form elements) in my form. I rather get it in a textbox. But how do I do that?Below you can see the peace of code that works out the value into a span element. How do I change this so it will be a form (TXT) element.As you noticed I am a Javascript/jQuery beginner.
I am trying to receive the output of an array from a text input here is the code that I am attempting to do but it is not displaying the output January
Here is the code example
[CODE]
 <!-- function coms(str){
All I need is a simple countdown clock where I can input a random total number of seconds from a variable and it will display a countdown containing days, hours, minutes and seconds.
For example:
input: 95500 seconds Output: 1d 2h 31m 40s
I would like this to be like a live "ticker" so the clock goes down without having to reload the page.
In a form I have an input field. It's supposed to get input form a scanning device. Thus, the input might contain special characters (like the Group Separator in a EAN barcode). Now, I want to manipulate a little with the input in a javascript, but I'm not able to find the Group Separator:
input = document.main.input.value; var a = input.split(""); var i; for(i=0;i<a.length;i++) { if(/x1D/.test(a[i])) { alert("GS"); } }
This is a snip that parses the input, character by character, and gives me an alert if the Group Separator (Hex: 1D) is found. But it never matches, even if I know that the input string contains in. I have a similar script written in Perl, an that script finds the Group Separtor.
jQuery automatically converts my input (type=button) html elements to jQuery buttons - that is it creates a div with an innerspan to act as my button and hides my original button.
How do Icontrol theclassof this jQuery button? In particular, Ineed to be able to change the background imagewhen the user triggers an event.
And it does indeed allow the user to select a file on his computer.
But when I access the value of the control I get an odd value. I do this, in javascript:
Code: var FileSelector = document.getElementById("FormsFileSelector"); var FileName = FileSelector.value; And the FileName that I get is "C:/fakepath/MyPicture.jpg"
The actual path is C:/MyDocuments/MyPictures/MyPicture.jpg". But instead it's coming up with "fakepath".
Very weird! How do I get it to return the actual full path to the file on the user's computer?
I have an input field where the user will type in their name and a number, and this is then output (in real time) in another 2 input fields as they type them.
I am trying to animate the output text, so when the user types in their name, the letters fadeIn (quickly so it seems like they're flashing in) rather than just appearing.
The code I have for this at the moment is as follows (the bits in bold is what I would like to animate).
I have a series of TEXT inputs each with a corresponding SELECT next to it. I don't know the actual ID of these controls because .net assigns them, but I can use a wildcard.
When the focus leaves one of the Text inputs, I want to display the corresponding Select (which is previously hidden). My ready function looks like this:
I am trying to manipulate the value of an input box based on whether a checkbox is checked or not. example checked input = 1600 and enabled unchecked input = 0 and disabled
I am having 2 problems: 1) When the page is loaded I get unchecked and input = 1600: it should be : either checked input = 1600 and enabled unchecked input = 0 and disabled
2) When the checkbox is checked for the 2nd time the input remains 0 it should go back to the initial value 1600
What I want to do is that when I click on a tag the checkbox next to it should become checked. I've tried with the help of internet for a couple of hours but I just can't find how I interact with other objects properly to achieve what I want to accomplish.
I'm currently developing an online work brief, where the user has to enter details regarding the project into a form. I've come to a section in the form where the user has the option of selecting between two checkboxes and an input element. I have to ensure that at least one of the checkboxes have been checked or that the input element is not empty. I've come up with this function:
function validateMedia(){ var count = 0; if(document.workBrief.mediaOnline.checked){ count++; } if(document.workBrief.mediaPrint.checked){ count++; } if(document.workBrief.mediaOther.value != ""){ count++; } if(count 0){ return true; }else{ alert('Please choose at least one media option'); return false; }}
I'm sure there is a more effiecient way of writing this.
For some reason my script only works when I have at lease two checkboxes. To simulate the problem just run it once with two html input checkbox elements
-> check one checkbox and press submit -> it works -> Now remove one input checkbox field and check the remaining checkbox & submit -> Bamm doesn't work...
Basically it's a layout creator, mostly, with a few customization options. Basically as you can see from the HTML below, there is a checkbox with the id "network" and a text input field with the id "username". Code:
im having some trouble. im trying to make a text input field appear when i click a certain checkbox and have it be invisible untill said checkbox is clicked. how would i format that with css/html
I've been searching for a few hours and haven't been able to find a code snippet to see if this is available. I'm attempting to pass text from my website to another website that has a form setup on it. I'd like to fill in the pertinent data for my users on the page that I load for them. I cannot make any changes to the receiving page as it is run by another company. I've pasted some of the code that is available on the receiving form.
// var theForm = document.forms['form1']; if (!theForm) {
In a form, I have multiple checkboxes which represent products whose values are the product prices and names are the product names. When a user clicks submit the next page processes it for cart/purchase purposes.
I need to pass the names of each checkbox to the next page as an array, and it seemed the best way to accomplish this would be to have a hidden input which automatically generates that array in the page then gets passed to the next (via POST) so the application can manipulate the data.
My server-side language is PHP on Codeigniter.
Here's the code:

I am trying to set focus to the first checkbox or text box on the page. Some pages have text boxes at the top, and others have check boxes. The following is the code I am using for the first text box, however it I require the possibility to use checkbox or text.
