I am trying to change my cursor to a help cursor for a webapp I'm helping to develop. It partially works, except when an element has a CLASS attribute. For example:
I'm trying to make buttons that change from one color to another when you click them and change back when you click them a third time. I wrote this page (http://cf.lehigh.edu/ems/test.html) but it only works on Firefox(Not IE or Chome, untested on safari or Opera). I'm using javascript to change the button colors. Is there another way to do this that works universal or another tool such as CSS?
I have a form that is initially submitted by normal submit button, but after that I want it to resubmit on change(). I thought I'd be able to pick up the secondary change()s by adding a class to all of the inputs. However I now understand that won't work by default because the change() can't be attached to the class added by the the submit() as it didn't exist at the time, it was added by Jquery. I've since discovered on() but I'm now stuck on where to include it.
Here's the script so far: The submit() adds the 'stu' class, and then the change() tries to select it but can't <script> $(document).ready( function(){ $("#search_choices").submit( function(evt){ runSearch(); $("input").addClass("stu"); evt.preventDefault(); }); }); $('.stu').change( function(){ runSearch(); });
function runSearch(){ var sFor = $("#for").val(), sWhere = $('input[name=where]:radio:checked').val(); $("#search_results").load('search.php', { where: sWhere, treb: sFor } ); }; </script>
I am working on an interest and investment calculator for a class project. On my list of drop down options, one of the options isnt an integer value like the rest. It's value is "other", while the other three are 1000, 5000, 1000, and 25000. What I would like to do is when the user chooses the "other amount" option from the drop down list, a prompt window will come up asking the user for an investment amount. I am having problems creating a function in my javascript file for this, and then taking the value entered and assigning a variable in another function with that new value so that it calculates with the users input. Please help. The first part of the attachment is the label with the "other" value I explained. And the second piece of code is my mess of a function that I tried to create for the prompt window to come up and store the users value and then change the value of the option.
How would I go about doing something like this?I want to have a div, and when you click on it the content changes. Then I want it so that if you click anywhere else besides that div, the content should be changed back.So I want <div></div> to change to <div>content</div> when you click on it, and when you click anywhere else in the document it should turn back to <div></div>
I have a bunch of thumb nails that will be at full opacity when a user gets to the page. Users will be able to select their favorite. What I want to have happen is when a user selects their first favorite all of the there thumbnails will be lowered in opacity then when they select other favorites the opacity of that thumbnail will be brought to full. Each thumbnail is in a div. I am at a complete lose on how I can achieve this.
I have created a page that takes several txt inputs and outputs html and javascript code to be copied and pasted by the user into a html capable text area of a document in creation. when that document in creation is loaded by the user it creates a popup window filled with textual info adjacent to their main content. Problem: I am able to convert the text in which contains apostrophes to "'" so that they don't break the code lines but not able to convert them back once the content is finally displayed on the final page.
Code:
clnParaOne = txtParaOne.replace(/'/g,'''); var output ="//code to output"; +"var popup=window.open('_blank','','width=1280,height=1024,"+marginLeft+",top=0');"
So I have a few divs that I'm hiding and showing whenever a you click on a link. So I'm a newbie at JavaScript and this is the best way I know how to do this. var divElement = ''; function show(divElement) { if(divElement == 'add') { document.getElementById('uploadImages').style.display='none'; document.getElementById('addTutorial').style.display='block'; document.getElementById('editTutorial').style.display='none'; document.getElementById('tutorialsImages').style.display='none'; document.getElementById('pendingTutorial').style.display='none'; document.getElementById('deletedTutorial').style.display='none'; } else if(divElement == 'edit') { .....
I used the jquery-function replaceWith() to replace this html part <div class="montag">...</div> with this part <div id="ersatz">...</div> Then i implemented a listener for montag and a listener for ersatz, so I can switch back and forth between the different parts.
The side gets loaded within the montag div and when i click on this part the listener works and the html gets switched to the ersatz part, but after this the listener for ersatz does not work, although the modified html gets displayed in firebug. Are there any solutions for such a kind of problem?
Now, what I'm trying to achieve is: When you hover over the 2_small.jpg the 1_large.jpg temporarily changes to '2_large.jpg' until you mouseout then the image reverts back to '1_large.jpg'. If you click on the '2_small.jpg' thumbnail the '1_large.jpg' permanently changes to the '2_large.jpg' until you either hover/click on the '1_small.jpg' thumbnail.
My challenge is, that I am currently styling a 'old fashion' webshop, where everything is placed in multiple tables. And on a tight deadline ;o( I need to change the table-build menu, into div-elements, so i can style/minipulate as the design requires
We are developing an Ajax based application. In this application the URL is fixed and as user navigates on the application we will change Anchor on the URL so that user can bookmark the url and can load the page on demand.
When user refreshes the page we have no issue in the populating the page based on the anchor in URL as on load we can capture the hash(#anchor) and act accordingly.
When the user clicks back button anchor is changing but not able to know where to get callback. Is there any event or way I can find when the user has clicked back button.
But /*THIS*/ and /*THAT*/ never happen. Is there a way of doing a callback, so that when the background image has changed, do the below functions. Then end with changing it to nothing again?
If i change away from a tab containing a partially completed form, then come back to it, all the changes are gone. I have set cache to TRUE so it's not re-loading the blank form from the remote, but it must still be reloading the tab content (ie. the blank form) from the cached copy in any case, so i still lose my changes. How can I keep my partly completed form when I switch to a different tab and then come back to it ?
I need to get the invalid fields to change back to blue when they're validated upon submit or even clicking out of the field.I'm not good in writing javascript yet so please include all of the javascript and html with the edits highlighted in the code:
The page: http://shoppingcartcash.com The js: http://shoppingcartcash.com/form.js
I try to find working example, but no luck.I need this very simply javascript to onClick change value and second click change value back and third click change value again back and so on..
I want to bind a hook to objects member variable change event i.e. lets say I have object: var obj { var1 : 1, var2 : 2, var3 : 3 };
I want to call "Magical" function like this: onVariableChange(obj, "var1", function(obj, varname, old, new) { alert("Variable " + varname + " changed from " + old + " to " + new);}); And after this function call every time obj.var1 is set to some value have my callback function called
I found something in internet: [URL]. Its cool but: -It is changing Object-s prototype -It is not working under IE 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12.... I've changed it a little bit and instead of adding to Object class prototype I'm adding it as member to any object which needs this hook. But IE still doesn't work. Is there any known cross-browser solution for this? I remember there was a jQuery upcoming project which would allow users to bind object to form and by changing one other will change automatically I wonder whats that project name and how they change input value when object member value changed.
I have these two functions below and when i try to change the back url string value on the main server to check_out.php like it is on the dev. environment nothing happens. It keeps going back to the myaccount.php. It works fine on the development environment.
function stateChanged() { if (xmlHttp.readyState==4 || xmlHttp.readyState=="complete")[code]....
I'm attempting to change the display property of certain divs depending on the criteria of multiple select boxes.
I got it to work by GetElementsByTagName('div') but it then selects all divs rather then the select few i actually want it to work on. I tried changing the selection to GetElementsByName but this doesn't work, why i don't really know.
I am trying to figure out how I can dynamically wrap divs around inputs. I need to set the divs to the input's width and height and the same positions except top should be a little less compared to the inputs. I need to create more then one div for each input.
How would i change back to the default length of textarea?
I have this comment area that after clicking submit i will append the new comment in the list of comments through ajax... i got one problem though, everything is working perfectly well except for the textarea that won't change back to it's default size...
EXAMPLE:
The problem is that the textareawon't change back to it's default size // let's say that the default size is rows=3
I'm using a text area to display textual updates to a user from the server. I'm inserting the text at the bottom of the textarea and need to set the scrollbar to the bottom of the textarea after every update. The problem is that the onChange event only fires if the user actually changes something in the text area, not if it is changed by an ajax update.Does anyone know of a way to detect if there has been an update to a textarea that was NOT triggered by a user?
