Event On Anchor Change(click Back Button) In URL

Jul 26, 2007

We are developing an Ajax based application. In this application the
URL is fixed and as user navigates on the application we will change
Anchor on the URL so that user can bookmark the url and can load the
page on demand.

When user refreshes the page we have no issue in the populating the
page based on the anchor in URL as on load we can capture the
hash(#anchor) and act accordingly.

sample URL: http://www.google.com/somecontext#<anchor>

When the user clicks back button anchor is changing but not able to
know where to get callback.
Is there any event or way I can find when the user has clicked back
button.

Button Colors Flipfloping - Change From One Color To Another When Click Them And Change Back When Click Them A Third Time

Feb 12, 2010

I'm trying to make buttons that change from one color to another when you click them and change back when you click them a third time. I wrote this page (http://cf.lehigh.edu/ems/test.html) but it only works on Firefox(Not IE or Chome, untested on safari or Opera). I'm using javascript to change the button colors. Is there another way to do this that works universal or another tool such as CSS?

Call The Click Event Of The Link (anchor Tag) On The Click Of The Button?

Jan 24, 2011

I want to call the click event of the link (anchor tag) on the click of the button. I used this code below in the click event of button to call links click event and it works fine in IE.

document.getElementById('linktag').click();

But, this doesn't work in Firefox. I googled a bit and found that in firefox, you have to do something more to achieve this behaviour. So, I ended up doing this on button click to work in firefox:

var link=document.getElementById('linktag');
var e = document.createEvent('MouseEvents');
e.initEvent(

[code]....

The above code does the click on link when I click on the button. But my problem now is that I have defined a link as

<a href="mailto:abc@xyz.com?subject=abc&body=email body">email </a>

and when click is called and mailto links opens my email client, it somehow ignores the subject and body parameters of the link. It works properly when i actually click a link element. but it doesn't work when i simulate the click event by code written above. above dispatching event code somehow ignores the link parameters?

How can you capture a back-button move that points to an anchor.. So basically, the user enters the page, clicks on an anchor which brings him to another part of the page, clicks the back button. Now ideally when he hits the back button, I want to be able to call a javascript function from there.

Page loads --> user clicks anchor (#test) --> calls javascript function using onClick --> user presses back button --> ?? capture the back button move and call javascript function ??

JQuery :: Event.target - Click Anchor As Matched Element

Jun 1, 2010

consider the following code;

$("#content").click(function(event)
{
if($(event.target).is('a'))
{
$(this).//do something
}
}

I'm binding a click event to a div so that I can see whether is was the div or some element inside the div that has been clicked. When the if() in my code evaluates to true $(this) is still equal to $("#content") whereas I'd like to have the clicked anchor as matched element. How would I do this?

Navigate Anchor Links Using A Button Onclick Event?

Feb 18, 2010

I am wondering if it is possible to navigate anchor links using a button onclick event. I want next and previous hit buttons to navigate the already existing hits (#hit1, #hit2, etc.).For instance, I have:

<script type="text/javascript">
var numHits = {HITS}-1;
function nextHit(){[code]....

I have seen working examples with the href tag (e.g. <a href="#" onclick="func();return false">), but nothing with buttons. I also can't seem to get the working href examples to work on my server.For instance, I cannot get this code to work, it just goes to js_required.html:

<a href="js_required.html" onclick="doSomething(); return false;">go</a>
function doSomething(){
alert("test");

How Can We Stop IE From Executing Javascript On A Back Button Click

Nov 14, 2007

Basically, I have a page that I load with 10 input fields. If users
have JS enabled I want to hide 5 of these fields so as to reduce
clutter. If the user needs these extra fields an "Add" button can be
used to display the hidden fields one by one.

Once the fields a filled in the user submits them for validation and
if there are any error They can "Go back" to make some changes. The
whole process works great in FF & Opera but IE lets me down because if
you use the Browser "Back" button the Javavscript gets executed even
though it should be loaded out of cache.

If I remove the if statement from the first click function everything works as intended.Here's my example code based off of the trigger event examples:

Why Doesn't My Button Click Event Fire?

I'm new to JavaScript and I wrote this code to play with. Oddly, if I

JQuery :: Re-bind Click Event On Button In Table Row?

Jul 1, 2010

I'm making a Vacation Rental application and it works... for the most part. The following will describe what a property owner will be doing when they subscribe to this site to add their vacation rental property to the site.

They first enter information about the Property Site itself, location, address.etc., and then they add specific attributes about the property, such as how many rooms are in the house, bathrooms, accommodations, etc.

Here's an image for the page:

When the "Add Button" button is clicked, it opens a jQuery dialog to allow the site owner to enter information about the room, such as the Room name, description, how many it sleeps, etc. This all works, for the most part.

Here's a shot of the dialog:

When the site owner clicks the "Save" button, the data in the dialog is sent to the server via Ajax (Json). Again this all works.

After a successful transaction, the server controller returns HTML of the table of rooms for this property site and then the jQuery success option replaces the existing HTML table with the new table that has the new row that includes the new room information.

Again, this does work.

What doesn't work completely correctly is, in each row of the table are buttons to "Edit" the room, or "Manage Beds" for the room, and after the table is dynamically replaced via the jQuery script, the button click events in each row are no longer bound.

So it's the "Manage Beds", "Edit" and "Delete" buttons that lose their event binding after the HTML table is replaced when a new Room is added or edited.

Is there a way to re-bind the button events after the table is replaced? I'd really like this to be bullet-proof.
