Catching <a> link click - Fancy Box I have an example here of the simple image gallery I'm working with. The thumbnails are loaded from an XML and are linked to larger images. untitled I want to use Fancy box Fancybox - Fancy lightbox alternative to show the larger images. I have fancy box working on other sites but can't get it to work here. In an attempt to work out why it's not working I tried to capture the click on the <a> link, but that won't work.
I was wondering if someone could assist me with a problem, i am trying to use the simple mouseover function to to able for my user to mouse over an thumbnail image and them the full size image apears in a black space on the webpage!plus, is there a way to have only 1 image instead of having a small one and a large one. i.e a large image can be resized for the thumbnail and appears normal in the mouseover.
Is it possible to use Colorbox to individually load the larger versions of images?I want to assign their default of rel="example1" to various images on the same page, but have them display individually rather than in a linked gallery.
I'm showing in a field the name of the file the user has chosen. I would like to show the whole name as the title when passing the mouse over the field, in case the name is too long. I swear this was working, but it's not anymore (I'm testing with FF). I don't know how it was working, maybe I used a different combination of quotes or semicolons or I don't know. I can't make it work again. When you pass de mouse over the field it is showing the code instead of the innerHTML referenced:

I am currently studying javascript - talk about a whole new world!!I need a simple code for a web page where the thumb images are lined up and when the mouse moves over the image, a larger size of the image is shown above the smaller images.
I have spent hours on the net trying to find something, but can only find either overly complicated or having to download plugins.
I have a table that contains information that is hidden within a 'td' element. Users can access this information if they wish by clicking on a link that is held in another 'td' element on the previous row (table structure below):
I'm basically trying to make it so a link click will hide and display a series of DIVs to make my site look a bit neater and more professional. The code I have WORKS, it can make a DIV appear and disappear easily enough but the issue I'm having is that it only works if you click the same link to show nad hide. Click a link to show a DIV then click another link and both will be visible.
But the only other code I tried to hide all but the selected DIV just results in my page becoming invisible (Its constructed with DIVs from top to bottom) so its not a suitable result. I'm basically after this: [URL]. Where you click on the link (in this case an image) and it shows what you need. I did try searching through their HTML and code but their javascript file appears as one long string to me so its hard to find any real useful detail.

Like in the first examples i have 5 panels, and i have a meta navigation, contact, links ect. all thedifferent content for the meta-navigation is displayed via jquery in panel 5, and is working fine.
Now my question; when the user is for example on the second panel, and the clicks on links, the page should show panel 5 (which is the index page(default.asp)), and then show only the content for the links.
I tried different stuff for loading the defautl.asp page, but it doesn't work. how do i tell, that if i click on the link wirh class="kontakt" the page should load the default.asp, and THEN do all the jquery stuff?

The image thumbs are showing up but the larger images are not. I changed the 'body onload' html tag to window.onload as I'm using two different javascripts on this page and I don't want them to conflict.I've also added initLightbox() so I don't know what's wrong! Is there just an issue with the images or is there something wrong with the script.

I have two functions, one to show random ads but the second is to show the "ads" in a larger image in a different place when mouseover. Although this code works i now want to adapt it to show a slightly different picture.Here is the code i am using and a presume the problem lies with the showIt(this.src) as i dont want it to show the same picture.
I prefer jQuery over flash and not sure how to tackle this, so please advise as best you can. Trying to create a site that allows for images to go full browser and then have the ability to have the other images slide in based on a click.
I also want to float a menu that will allow it to pull in other media (video, that would slide in the same way). Should I disable the right click option or not? I have a gallery site, I don't want people to be able to copy the images with the default right click over an image. From a professional looking site point of view I suppose I would be messing with the functionality a bit too much, OR is it OK in this instance to disable the click. I know how to write the code to disable the click, but what I was thinking was maybe it would be better to leave the right click but change the menu options? I'm not sure how to change the menu options ere is a link to the site. [URL]
I want to call the click event of the link (anchor tag) on the click of the button. I used this code below in the click event of button to call links click event and it works fine in IE.

But, this doesn't work in Firefox. I googled a bit and found that in firefox, you have to do something more to achieve this behaviour. So, I ended up doing this on button click to work in firefox:

The above code does the click on link when I click on the button. But my problem now is that I have defined a link as
and when click is called and mailto links opens my email client, it somehow ignores the subject and body parameters of the link. It works properly when i actually click a link element. but it doesn't work when i simulate the click event by code written above. above dispatching event code somehow ignores the link parameters?
Below is an example of a synthetic click in Firefox. The browser does not follow the link. Is that the just the way synthetic clicks work of am I doing something wrong? I know the synthetic click occurs because if I add an onclick attribute to the link the handler runs. Any ideas? Code:
I'm sure this has been brought up on these forums multiple times about showing and hiding div tags via links that you click on. The majority of ones that I found have you click a link to open the div and if you click the same link again, the div closes like it should.
But my problem involves multiple links and multiple div files that need to open the div assigned to it when clicked but also hide any previous divs that were shown with previous link clicks.

I need to display items in a very nice looking pop-up window. I'm not very familiar with Java Script or Ajax so is there a free program or a script someone can point me to that will display a nice looking window to show a product image and description?
I'm new to jquery, I'm super impressed and can't wait to start working with it. I'm looking for a pop up window tutorial. When a user clicks on a link a new window fades in or stretches out from the center, something fancy like that. I`m trying to incorporate live [URL].. and i`m having a small problem that bothers me at night: all works great but the validation is made per total not field by field like is made in the link above .So i made a validation for email and username on the first field and name on the second if i enter the corect username and email it shows like is incorect only after i enter the name on the second field all other fields validate.So if i have a form with 6 field i have to get to the last one to show the user that all is completed ok.
I've made a basic website template, which I'm still working on, but I'd like to make it compatible with IE before I go any further.
I'm having trouble with the drop down menu that is located in the top right section on the site...in the banner.
It seems to work fine in FireFox (which is what I've built it for), Safari, and Chrome, but it will not work in Internet Explorer. Problem is....it doesn't hide the links, or "il" section. I was able to get it to do so, but then it would not let you select any of them...they would disappear as soon as you moved your mouse off of the top section, or "ul" i believe it's called.

I have two javascript files that execute some code. One is a default file loaded on all pages that executes some jquery for some bells and whistles for basic interactivity :
It works great. However, one of my pages updates a database via ajax and then rewrites and redisplays the updated table on a successful ajax return. For example, if someone adds something to their shopping cart, ajax queries the database, updates an entry, and then rebuilds the shopping cart to reflect the new item or quantity. The problem I was having was that after the rewrite of the table, I was losing the formatting that the above jquery file was implementing. So I just added the same jquery statements above to the success indicator of the ajax.

This works fine, and reapplies the styles after the table has been redrawn. However, I don't like to have the same jquery statements in this file as I do in the standard jquery file above. So I just want to use a function. So on this buy_item.js page, I'm trying to call the make_fancy() function in the default_jquery.js file, but it doesn't work. I'm told that the make_fancy() function is not defined. I've tried including the default_jquery.js file which contains the make_fancy function before the buy_item.js file that calls it, but that doesn't work for some reason.

ive just got this script ive got set up and it works fine, but not what i expected.i want it so i have headings and when i click those headings sub headings show up and when i click on that heading again they dissapear however i also want it so that you can have multiple headings open at once .how would i be able to modify this code so that if i have say sub1 open and i click to open sub2 sub1 remains open
