Create A Virtual Library - Make A Random Number Of Books Pop Out On Mouse Over?
Jun 7, 2011I have a background that is a shelf full of books, I wanted to figure out what I would need to do in order to make a random number of books pop out on mouse over (individually), and upon click have the book pulled out and be flipped through and read like a book. Would I have to recreate the library picture completely to make the random books moveable? And would I have to create the books that I want to move from the bookshelf?
how to pull the book out from the book shelf so that it looks like it's coming towards me and then to make it look like it has been pulled out. Would I need to use animation for this? What would be the parts to the animation required?
A little background on my knowledge of javascript: I understand the concepts of it and can understand it when I read it or its explained to me. I am looking to create something as simple as I can, I thought having a background and something basic like a few books be able to pop out. When I realized css couldn't do this and css3 wasn't supported by most browsers I turned to javascript and have been trying to figure out the steps I would need to do to do this specifically.

May 24, 2011How would I go about creating a random number between 1-50 that COULD include whole numbers, decimals to the tenth, hundredth and the thousandth place?
Ex) 2.145, 3, 5.8, 41.002, 10.12, 7, 18.023, 33.2
Also, if the only way to do it is to put trailing zeros to the thousandth place that's fine as well

I have tried using Scrollable and JCarousel but both require you to scroll through a set of list items. I need to be able to scroll 320px at a time. Is this possible?

But now the client wants to be able to click on the week number, or the month and then do something based on that. Preferably some onSelect function, just like when a user selects a specific day. Is this possible?

Prevent Repeating In A Random (Math.random) Array?
Aug 6, 2009I've looked for a solution to this issue, but it seems like a little different scenario than other situations. I made a system for generating friend requests on Facebook. I have a grid that is 6 x 3, for a total of 18 cells. Each cell has a picture in it, and the picture is linked to the Facebook friend request page. My problem is that since each cell is populated at random from the array, I'm getting lots of repeats. For example, some picutures are in 5 cells, and some are in none. I'm trying to figure out how to make it so that once a picture is used once in the grid, it does not get used again in the same grid.I still want every cell filled at random on each page load, I just want to prevent the repeating.

Jul 23, 2005I don't know if this is easy or not, I have no clue on how to start it.
I have Seven different states.
I will be having a form with 7 textboxes, and I will enter 7 different
states each time in the textbox.
When I click on the button, it would call a function
the function would output :
6 different combinations of 3 states. So I would have 1-6 and for each
would list three states I entered in the textboxes.
