So i have a form that has 3 radio buttons and i want to validate so that you must select at least 2 Yes's. I am new to javascript so excuse my poorly written statement. It is non-functional, how to change this in order to make it functional.

I'm trying to get a radio button validation for different sets of radio buttons that simply contains Yes & No buttons.
Here's what I'm trying to do:
Question 1: if Yes, then (Alert 1) if No, then (Alert 2) (if Yes, then Question 2 appears) *Up to here I'm happy- can't figure out the rest*
Question 2: if Yes, then (Alert 1) if No, then (Alert 2) (if Yes, then Question 3 appears)
I need the Alerts to be swapped from this point*
Question 3: if Yes, then (Alert 2) if No, then (Alert 1) (if NO, then Question 4 appears)
Identical for Question 5, and for Last Question 6 Alerts swapped back again.)

everything works up until the if(uscan == "n") so idk why it cant find what the value of the field is, because ive tested it and it seems to know even know what the value is.
In "validateField" function radio is not exists and I don't know how can I add a validation rule for radio buttons. My code is attached.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to create a basic unobtrusive form validation function but I am having some issues/questions. Basically I am checking if any of the form fields have <= 3 characters, and if they do so, then I make those fields' backgrounds and borders red. Also in the empty <span> tags I insert an error message. My issues/questions are:
#1: So when I say if (fieldVals<=3) this means that the errors should appear if the values are 1,2 or 3 characters long, right? It does not do that though, when I insert one character in any of the form fields the errors go away, but they should not, right?
#2: How do I cancel the form from submitting if errors are visible and vice versa? When I use the return false when errors are visible, the code does not even run. What is going on? return true does the same.
#3: When I use a submit button(type="submit") instead of just a button(type="button"), the code does not run? What am I doing wrong?
I am not trying to use this on a website, I am just trying to learn how to use unobtrusive javascript. That's why I am only checking for empty fields. If I learn how to do this first, later I will try to add email check, date check etc.

I have a form with multiple fieldsets which are visible conditionally. There are three submit buttons "Abandon", "Save" and "Save & Continue". Each button should validate specific controls of the form and submit it. I tried setting "onsubmit: false" and checking for "$('#myForm').valid ()" on click of these buttons., but that validates all controls of the form.

Shouldn't the code above set the .html property of the element with class "error_box" to the specified text? I've tried using an id instead of a class i.e. $('#error_box").html(...) but that doesn't work either. I've also tried using the .text() method.
Manually using document.getElementById("error_box") works without any problems - it's only jQuery that won't do what I tell it. :-)
I have a basic flash gallery that I embedded into my site (HTML & CSS). When viewed in Firefox everything is fine (840px by 427px), but when viewed in IE the gallery changes size & needs to be (887px by 440px) to be viewed correctly.
So, I put an Javascript If Then Else statement. Now it targets and changes in the IE browser (width='887' height='440') , but it also changes the Firefox one to 887x440 when it should stay the original 840x427.
I am using IE to hide sections of a form. When I display the first
section (name='ea'), the form widgets are not clickable in IE nor do
they accept focus. When I display the 3rd section (name='ec'), the

I would like the selected radio button's value to be inserted into the href of the link, and if the user selects a different radio button that this changes. I can get the submit button to work and the above button to work.The issue I am having is that I have jquery validation in the form and whenever I hit the SAVE button it wants to validate the form (which I dont want it to as I want it to save at any point in the form). Does anyone know of a quick way to bypass validation code in jquery. Say with using an ajax call and form submit or someway to say if the SAVE button is clicked ignore the validation plugin.
I am creating a form for a registration that asks the participant if they have completed pre-requisite training. There are three questions they are asked. When they click yes, the text box for the requested information is enabled, when they click no, they get a warning that they need to register first.

I'm trying to get my form to show and hide various divs with radio buttons. There are multiple options in the second box of my example. When a user selects the first option, more input boxes come up. Perfect, that's what I want. However, if they decide they didn't mean to click that option and instead wanted another option, the original part that popped up doesn't disappear. The first javascript is to show the value of the radio button with the textfield attached - when the user puts a number in the textfield, it will update the value of the radio button. The second javascript is to check the document for the clicked radio buttons and checkboxes. It then adds up all the clicked values to show the answer. The problem that I am having is to put these two javascripts together so as the radio button is updated with the text field value as well as adding up all the clicked values.
