Mar 28, 2006Does anyone know how I can have it so when a user types in one box, it will auto tab to the next box when that box has been completed or reached its max length.

Apr 4, 2011Does anyone know how to go about getting a function a bit like fckeditor / ckeditor where when you type a full URL into the 'link to' box it automatically removes the 'http://' part on the fly (i.e. as soon as another character after the initial 'http://' is typed), just leaving the user with www.etc.... in the input?
I am trying to build something similar, and am a bit lost going through the fckeditor code!
Auto Size Input Text Field?

I would like to create an array of all of the text inputs on my page and have each one resize to the text within them. The second set up code is where im attempting this but for some reason i can't get the code to execute.

Auto-advance In Html Form Input Boxes
Jul 23, 2005Somebody asked me if it would be possible to add auto-advance to a web
form where there are a lot of repetitive 5 character fields. I took a
look around the web and found a script, which appears to work in the
couple of browsers I tried it in. However, when I look at the script it
appears to have the wrong number of brackets. Then when I changed the
script to the way I thought it should be, it still worked!
I'm totally rusty on javascript. I think I remember that you're allowed
to omit brackets when you only have 1 line following the if (or while,
or whatever).
A couple of questions:
Are the brackets in the original script below wrong or am I missing
something?
Can anyone recommend a different auto-advance script?
Or, is auto-advancing a bad idea all around from a usability/accessibility point of view?....

Jun 26, 2011I have a div that is set to overflow auto allowing the content to scroll left and right. This is because the content I am putting in it (a series of input boxes) is considerably wider than the containing div. The way it sits, when I start in the first input box and continually tab to the other input boxes, the focus goes from the left of the screen to the right. Once it hits the input box to the right of the screen, some of the input box is hidden to the right. As I tab to the input boxes to the right, each one has a portion of the element cut off by the view window.
What I want to happen is when I start at the left most input box and tab over, as I reach the center of the viewable part of the container, I want the input boxes to continue to center themselves until I reach the last ones. I think that telling each input box to center itself in the visible window of the containing div as it gets focus would work, I just don't know if there is an easy way to accomplish this using javascript I am using the mootools framework if that helps my case any.

Whenever the focus blurs from those inputs, the third column in that row is populated with "UNKNOWN" as the value. I have confirmed that the getITRRSP.cfm file is properly retrieving and displaying the data from the db query.
