I have two pages parent.html and child.html, the parent has a link called "Search", when clicked the child open in a modal centered window that has a search form, the search in the child return a list of rows, so when clicking a row the child window close and data is transferred to the parent.
when i try to add a data from popup list box to parent window listbox it pops an error. Servlet threw an exception. This is my code
var optionvalue=thisForm.behaviourname.options[i].value; var len=window.opener.document.FormMaterialDetail.inparameterid.options.length; window.opener.document.FormMaterialDetail.inparameterid.options[len] = new Option(thisForm.behaviourname.options[i].text, optionvalue);
I am currently creating which will allow the user to upload their own pictures. For this I am opening a new pop up window where the user can select the file they wish and then upload it (similar to ebay's picture upload). The pop up works fine and so does the file upload however I am having trouble transferring any data from the pop up window back to the parent window. I have been investigating the opener method but cannot seem to get it to work. Below is some simple code that I've been trying to get to work.
first page. <form name="loadpic" id="loadpic" action="createPost.php" method="post"> <br /> <br /> Testing transfer between pages... <input type="button" value="open pop up" onclick="window.open('popup.php','pop up box','width=400,height=200')" />
I am trying to pass user data from a parent window to a child window. I read somewhere that if i want to pass data as soon as child window opens i need to add a pause for the form elements to load. I am using the code snippet below.objf.form_parent.text1 is a text field in the parent window and newWindow.document.test.text1. is a field in child window. Can anyone help what I am doing wrong. Code:
How i can find the parent div of this input field for example someone type into the input field on keyup we want to find the parent div of this input field
I've got quite a challenging problem (for me) with jQuery and highlighting a parent <li> from activating checkboxes.I've got a nested unordered list which contains checkboxes... Example HTML:
I'm working on a quote generator and I'm running into an issue with onChange events not firing when a text field is dynamically populated via a child window. Here's my setup: I have 3 text boxes (quantity, price, markup) that are multiplied together in order to give the total of that product. Each text box has an onChange event [called calculator()] that calls an external javascript file, which handles the multiplication and instantly updates the total of that product. Up to this point, everything works fine - - when I manually edit any of the 3 inputs, the total updates correctly.
However, my problem is that I now have the "price" text box being dynamically populated, and when it updates it is not firing the onChange event attached to it. The text box is being filled by way of launching a child window and running the following code within it:
I would like to have a main form (written in PHP) that has a "lookup" button next to a text field. When the user clicks "lookup", it should open a new window that lets them search (child.page1). When they enter a name or DOB into the search form, it submits the form through PHP (via POST), to a results page (child.page2). This displays all persons in the database which have a name or DOB == to the search term(s), with a checkbox next to each match. They click the checkbox (or alternenatively, a link), and return the checkbox value to the main window.
I have everything working right now, except that (child.page2) doesn't recognize the main window. If the data is entered on (child.page1), it works fine. I'm not very familiar with javascript.. is this even possible? I've considered using frames, to keep the parent-child relationship evident to the computer, but figured I'd check to see if there's an easier way.
I am having a form with two input fields. I want to enter some text in the first input field and then the second field should get the same text. Is there a simple way (maybe a plugin) to do this with jQuery? It would be perfect if I even could output all these input fields values as normal text in <p> or <li> tags.
how to copy an input field to an input field using a check box, what I want to do is copy data from an ID that has been populated with data using ajax and then select which data I want to copy depending on the drop down option selected. I can get the drop down box to alert the same data back that I want to copy but I can't display that data inside the input field.
step by step:
1. search for data with ajax and populate ID with data
2. use drop down box to select data to copy and copy it to input field
Tutorial I read
HTML CODE
This is the ID that already has data retrieved using ajax.
I have a textbox and button in html, and when something is fill in the textbox, i want to pass the value of the textbox to ajax, data: '{"name": theName}', I couldn't seems to get it to work.
Of couse when i use string value, it works just perfectly for example: data: '{"name": "Joe"}',
I've got a form that dynamically generates sets of input elements. First there is a set of up to 99 parent elements, and then the parents can have up to 99 child elements each. My question is not about the generation, but about capturing the data once the form has been filled out.
I made a script that handles getting the values and putting the values, along with their input id in an object that is used later. I don't want to have to use css classes or other attributes to identify the input elements, and wondering if that being the case, if I could get a critique of my script:
Edit this Fiddle - jsFiddle - Online Editor for the Web (JavaScript, MooTools, jQuery, Prototype, YUI, Glow and Dojo, HTML, CSS)
The output (the object) logs to your console when you click anywhere in the Result area.
How can I use JQuery to, when clicking a row of data in a table, take that row (consisting of three columns) and populate three different input fields with it?
I have a pretty basic set of things I want to do: Capture key press, compare against an allowed list, block keys that are not in that list, replace a space by a dash if entered. As this is happening, I have a span I wanted to be updated with the live values. The username field at [URL] is exactly what I am trying to do, though I have trouble dissecting how they did it. Here is my attempt, which is off by one keypress for some reason.
Basically I have comments posted on articles and I want to allow users to report them if they find inappropriate content. I want them to be able to click on icon on the comment which will open up a pop-up.Then in the pop-up they can type why they are reporting the comment.
I've been messing with this code for a while now. This code successfully brings up the pop-up, but it doesn't transfer the form data. My main coding language is PHP, and I'm in the process of learning Javascript.
I have a rather complicated problem for me as it involves both php and js. And I'm getting lost... Let me explain:
On a page, order.html, I have a form including the following fields: - name - email - comment
When posted, it is linked to request.php and request.validation.js, to end up on confirmation.php.
On confirmation.php, I would like to reuse the information entered in the fields on order.php (name, email, comment) to display them on the page. My issue I can't find how to 'take them along' in request.php / request.validation.js to confirmation.php where I'm trying to display them with : Contact: <span id="name"><?php echo($_POST['name']); ?></span> etc.
I have created parent child checkboxes. When one child is selected, then parent of that child, other child of same name and parent of that same name's child will be selected... Now I want if I unchecked any child, then only same name of child and parents should be unchecked or if I unchecked Parent Child, then same name of parent and child will be unchecked.
Is it possible to Copy data from a <input> box the the main windows (the input is opened in a pop-up). I've seen date-time pickers can do that, but can't find the function!
