Using SetTimeout Causing Firefox Page Loading Animation?
Oct 1, 2009I am trying to write code to print a message 5 seconds after document has loaded.

JQuery :: Animation And Loading Image At The Same Time?
Jan 12, 2012do the following: I have a thumbnail image that on rollover swaps to another image. At the same time i want to do a fade out/fade in animation between the images. Most of it is working but when the page loads for the first time there is no swaping of the image but just a fast opactity effect on the first image. Then if i try the rollover for the second time it does work as expected. Is it because the image that im loading doesn't load fast enough and the whole animation onRollover doesn't happen? I also have a problem when Rollover fast on the thumbnails. It just stays on the second image but doesn't go back to the first original image? For some reason the animation gets confused between the Rollover and Rollout states. Here is a link to see the example

Show Loading Animation Before Iframe Is Fully Loaded
Jun 23, 2009I have an iframe and I want to display a loading animation to the user until the iframe is fully loaded, this is want I did:
1. I start the iframe with style:display:none
2. I have a div that wraps the iframe
3. When the iframe is fully loaded a method is called from the iframe 'removeDivs', I change the div to be invisble with style:display:none and I set the iframe to be visible with stle:display:""
4. The problem: Because the div wraps the iframe, after changing the style of the iframe its stay invisible, the property I set doesn't affect.

JQuery :: Animation & Loading - Portfolio Section Doesn't Seem To Work?
Jul 1, 2009My problem arises when I use this to access the portfolio section. The portfolio section doesn't seem to work. If you head over to http:[url]... , you can see how the section should render and how a person can use the scroll feature, however, when the content is loaded using jQuery, it doesn't function properly.Additionally another problem i'm realizing is the delay of the content. For example, if you are on the contact page and then click on downloads, the content will slide left and then slide back right when the content is loaded. However the problem i'm seeing is the delay in the content loading meaning that the animation will finish and the content will then load.A second or two delay. I've tested it in multiple browsers and seeing the same problem. Surprisingly the only browser i'm not seeing this in is IE6.

If I put an alert message in function showLoadingImg() or the make the red line uncomment (making the line a error), Then I am getting the loading gif functionality work..
But, all next functions fail due to above red lined error (if its uncommented).
JQuery :: Basic Page Loading DIV - Full Window DIV That Sits Above All The Content With A Loading Icon
Oct 21, 2009I have a site that is very jQuery and image heavy. The main sections of the site link to sections that are built with several Tabs, and as it loads, you briefly see all the content load and then it is hidden by the Tabs code.
The plan is to have a full window DIV that sits above all the content with a loading icon that plays until the entire page loads, and then it fades down.
After some hair pulling and research I have code in place that does exactly as I ask, however it does not seem to work in IE6+7. It works in all other browsers.

Iframe :: Each Browser Shows The Loading Icon, As If A Page Was Loading?
Mar 19, 2010I have a lot of javascript functions that request information from an iframe hidden on the page. I see other sites do this, but their browser does not do the loading action (like the processing circle in Firefox). When I do it on my site, each browser shows the loading icon, as if a page was loading. Is it possible to not have this?

Pre-loading A Page With Loading Image?
Oct 13, 2009I have created a party-events website. Which displays a lot of dates of events. As you might understand this page takes some time to load. Therefor I want some of loading image to be displayed while the page is loading. Anybody has an idea how to pull this of? I don't know how.
In detail: People come to my website. They click on "events" and a loading.gif pops up and and makes the background darker. After the page has completely loaded the loading image disappears and the website shows.

Sep 18, 2011I was basically trying to follow several tutorials to get a superfish menu working on my website, but I don't seem to be able to get it to work.I included both the superfish.css and the superfish.js in my website's header; both paths are corrent and point to the designated file.I then included the superfish function in my header like this:

Delaying A Page Change So Gif Animation Can Play
Dec 1, 2010On my website I've got a simple animated .gif I want to play each time someone clicks a link on the menu bar. The problem is that while the image changes successfully, the webpage changes too quickly so the animated.gif won't play.
I'm assuming this has something to do with setTimeout though I'm too much of a noob at Java to get this right.

Loading External JS Before Page Page Load (specific Span Element)
Jul 19, 2010My goal is to load the JS for a specific element before displaying that element. I integrated a third part script, and it works well. I set the timer here:
The JS is in my heading as <script type="text/javascript" src="countdownpro.js"></script>
About mid-body I have: <span id="countdown1">2010-07-20 00:00:00 GMT+00:00</span> which allows for the setting of a target date to countdown to.
When the page first loads it shows the above long format target time, until the js/meta tags kick in to modify it to just show the actual countdown as 00:00:00.
I have attached countdownpro.js to this post. I tried shifting the function CD_Init() to the top of the script, and also appended it inline with the .html. I tried setting the big external script to "defer", but neither arrangement worked. I also tried placing the src file right at the top.

Make A Fade In Animation With SetTimout - Why Animation Only Subtract
Aug 27, 2011I've been messing with this code to make a fade in animation with setTimout. The only thing is addition isn't working on the fade in. A subtraction on a negative works though. This seems strange to me.
changeit.style.opacity -= -0.01; works but when it's changed to changeit.style.opacity += 0.01; there's no fade in. It's the only thing I change. My intuition says to me it should work with addition, but maybe there's something I'm not understanding.

Of course this is all just for Firefox for now. If I put this in something useful I'll change it so it'll work in other browsers later.

Loading The Menu Item Page In The Center Of Main Page?
Mar 22, 2009I'm designing a web page, Having a banner on top, then a search option following it.There is a menu item list below it on to the left.And the content of the links of those menu item should get loaded in the center of the page.And a footer having some copyright info.All these are in div tags. The problem is when i click on any menu item it should be loaded in the center div tag.Ive tried using Iframes but there is a scrollbar coming only in that area of center div tag.I don't wan't this to happen.Based on the size of the html page to be loaded the div tag size should increase, and so the whole page.Have tried using Ajax but not working.

Flash Alternative To Putting An Animation With Sound On Web Page?
Sep 8, 2011I'm not sure if this is the correct forum, but here goes anyway. My QT animation has sound that goes with it and needs to be timed accurately. Anyone have any ideas what I can use and able to have it play on most browsers, mobile, etc?Just to make it a little more difficult, I need to place the animation as an overlay on top of other page elements.Flash would be a solution, but I don't want to make into flash because it won't work on iOS..This is a simple animation of stick figures and no background. If I didn't need sound I would just elect to go with a gif format which would have worked perfectly in this case.
