I am loading Default2.aspx from MainPage.aspx. i need to display the condense of Default2.aspx in the Div(maincontent) which i declared in Default2.aspx.

My goal is to load the JS for a specific element before displaying that element. I integrated a third part script, and it works well. I set the timer here:

About mid-body I have: <span id="countdown1">2010-07-20 00:00:00 GMT+00:00</span> which allows for the setting of a target date to countdown to.
When the page first loads it shows the above long format target time, until the js/meta tags kick in to modify it to just show the actual countdown as 00:00:00.
I have attached countdownpro.js to this post. I tried shifting the function CD_Init() to the top of the script, and also appended it inline with the .html. I tried setting the big external script to "defer", but neither arrangement worked. I also tried placing the src file right at the top.
I'm trying to load a div from one page into a div on my page.

The prob is when the trigger is click, the whole page is replaced with the 'test.html' page, while I would like just the '#test' div from the second page to be loaded into the '#content' div on the start page.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've gotten .load to load content into a div but if the window is not at the top of the page it scrolls back to the top each time the new content is loaded but I wanted to avoid any sort of change on the page other than the content in the div. It seems pointless if the user has to scroll back down to the div where the content is each time? code...
Is there a way to keep the window in the same position? Also while I'm at it - is there a more efficient way to write this considering I have 9 pages or should I just write this code out for each instance?

I have an image gallery here on the top left. It works by the user clicking a thumbnail and displaying the larger thumbnail above it. Currently, all of the images are preloaded, including the large image above the thumbnails which takes up unnecessary loading time.
How can I make it so for example, AFTER the user clicks on a thumbnail, THEN the bigger thumbnail loads. NOT BEFORE the whole page loads.

I created a bookmarklet script to help me audit extremely large style sheets.Basically while on a site that you would like to audit, you click the bookmarklet and the document's body contents gets remove and replaced with an iframe that points to the current sites home page. From here you can choose what style sheet (the script finds) to begin reporting over. The more pages you browse (through the iframe) the more accurate the report gets.My problem however, is if the person is on the site's home page when first running the script, the iframe never loads up. I think it has to do with the fact that you are on the home page, and then the iframe tries to point to the home page as well and fails for some reason.You can test it by bookmarking this bookmarklet and running it on any site's home page where style sheets can be found:

I have a single webpage that contains information on all 50 U.S. states. There are 50 links at the top to jump down to the state you want, and at the bottom of the information for each state a Back to Top link.
I'm making the Back to Top link into something more complex, and it will require three or four lines of code.
So that I don't have to repeat the code 50 times, and create a burden when I need to edit it, I want to place it in a .js file and call it x. Then below the information for each state I'll simply have:

I'm running into a little bit of a problem with tinyMCE. My textarea is not loaded with the initial first page load but dynamically inserted in the DOM via ajax, so it doesn't display.

I have some javascript code that does some GET and POST requests that are required. Sometimes it doesn't fully execute for the user because they close or click onto another page before the javascript is completely done. Is there anyway I can let all of the javascript load first and slow down the actual page load of the website.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a site that is very jQuery and image heavy. The main sections of the site link to sections that are built with several Tabs, and as it loads, you briefly see all the content load and then it is hidden by the Tabs code.
The plan is to have a full window DIV that sits above all the content with a loading icon that plays until the entire page loads, and then it fades down.
After some hair pulling and research I have code in place that does exactly as I ask, however it does not seem to work in IE6+7. It works in all other browsers.

I'm designing a web page, Having a banner on top, then a search option following it.There is a menu item list below it on to the left.And the content of the links of those menu item should get loaded in the center of the page.And a footer having some copyright info.All these are in div tags. The problem is when i click on any menu item it should be loaded in the center div tag.Ive tried using Iframes but there is a scrollbar coming only in that area of center div tag.I don't wan't this to happen.Based on the size of the html page to be loaded the div tag size should increase, and so the whole page.Have tried using Ajax but not working.

I know that to add css onto a page, normally you need to grab a class or id. Or is one obliged to write out the entire styling for the doc.html in camelCase as a string enclosed in .css() ??
These are various stories fetchable via a menu. Each one has a different and detailed set of classes for styling..
Lastly, should I identify each story as an id or class?
What I'm not wrapping my head around is how to lay out the stylesheet. If a particular story ...(I'm using the same name as its document page (minus '.html')... is denoted as a class or id, then how do I assure that all the classes and id's which are in effect subordinate only to that id or class name also get loaded...?

What I am doing: I am creating a tutorial for a friend who cannot figure out how to use her new rental management program. I could use a manual slide show to have her click for the next image however, there are a LOT of tutorial images which show her what to do at that point. Her program contains a great number of setup screens, report screens etc. This means the slide show would be sitting there loading all these images before it will work. So, I figured, OK make a page with an iframe, and then I could put each image on it's own little page i.e. page1, page2 etc. Place a little button, or a next link, then have the link load the pages into the iframe in order.
What I want to do is load a div from another page into my page. This works. So on my main page, I have a set of buttons, and when I click on a button, a corresponding div gets loaded from the appropriate secondary page. For instance, if I click on a button labeled "lady Gaga", I get a bio of lady Gaga loaded into a div in my page. (The bio originates in a div on another web page on my site). So I then decided to make the bio collapsible. In other words, you could click on the title (or maybe the first 2 sentences) and the whole bio would shrink to just a few lines. Then if the user clicked on it again, it would expand again. I could then have several collapsible panels on Ms. Gaga, maybe one would be her biography, another would be her song list, and another would be reviews of her performances. The user would see them all, and could expand any one of them. Then whenthe usergets tired of that, he can click another button and see multiple collapsible panels on Bruce Springsteen. (all these panels are in a div called #content on 'bruceSpringsteen.htm')

I have a lot of javascript functions that request information from an iframe hidden on the page. I see other sites do this, but their browser does not do the loading action (like the processing circle in Firefox). When I do it on my site, each browser shows the loading icon, as if a page was loading. Is it possible to not have this?

If you look on the right panel, at the heading "What our clients / journalists say", you will notice that it fades into another set of text. However when the page first loads because it takes a few seconds loading in the twitter feed, you will see a big lump of text running down the page.
Only when the Twitter feed has loaded does the lump of text disappear. Can i overcome this somehow?
Is it faster/more beneficial to have two snippets of code be generated by php at 2 different urls and then have a load function for each url? Or have the two snippets on one page, surrounded by id's and then load them that way?
