I have an HTML table with the table data being generated and printed via for loop using php.An sample from the code is shown below. What I would like to know is how Do I access text within SPECIFIC <td></td> tags from the table? So let's say that I want to access the value of the data in row 3, how i can access is via Javascript using HTML DOM
<?
$result = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM tbl_slider");
echo "<BR/>";
I have a table, simplified below, which has <col> and <tbody> elements. Is there an easy way using DOM to access the table row length? The number of rows varies as it is generated by an application.
I know you can use rows collection like document.getElementById('myTable').rows.length, but isn't the rows collection IE specific? I don't understand how I could use childNodes effectively with col and tbody tags. Ideas?
I have a table on which there are a number of cells. some cells contain input boxes that allow users to enter various information. However I need to know how to access the information contained within each cell to allow me to compare it to some other information. Would anyone be able to tell me if this is possible and how I would go about it.
I have 3 Jquery tabs on the form. Each tab contain same HTML Tables, I want to access the data in a Cell of a table in an active tab on the button click
in normal Case I use
var x=document.getElementById("searchResultTable").rows[10].cells; referenceNo=x[2].innerHTML;// get the value in the Cell alert( "x[2].innerHTML);
if i use this Code i get only the First Table data .All the Tabs Contains Same Table with Same Id and Name
I'm dynamically creating an HTML table using JQuery. I'm not assigning id's to the tr or td tags in the table. The reason I'm not, is that it seems complicated, given that the table is initially loaded and then the user can add and delete rows. I'll also need to sort the table on demand.
I maintain the current row the user has clicked on as a global variable (curRow) using this... $("#prodTable tbody tr").live('click', function() { curRow = $(this)[0].rowIndex; });
I want to do input validations on certain cells based on values in other cells in the row. for example, the value of cellA cannot be greater than the sum of the values of cellB-CellD. The question is, given a certain table rowindex, how can I access the cells in the row? Is this not a good approach?
I am using the tablesorter and tablesorterpager plugin and I really like it.However I need help with a problem I have. I use checkboxes for every rowin a table for selecting items.I also have a “select all” checkbox in the table header. When looking at the pager script I understand that the plugin completely removes all the table rows from the DOM and only renders the visible rows, the rest of the table is cached. So when using code similar to this:
I am creating a small CMS module for a client. I created a little form and when they click Submit, it goes straight out into an include (.inc) file, which is connected to the web page to be displayed.
The trouble I am having is that I'd like to create an additional button that will insert some text (certain html tags to make their life easier, etc) - I got it to work, actually. The script executes and the text is inserted - but once the script runs and the page refreshes (or whatever it does), the text then disappears. The only way I can seem to get it to stay put is when I use "onmouseup" instead of "onclick" - which means that every time the user accidentally mouses over the thing, it inserts the text.
<script type="text/javascript"> function insertPreference() { var row = document.getElementById('voteTable').rows[0];[code]....
I can get the value for id and title. However, I can not get the radio button value.I will loop through the <tr> tag and access the <td> and pass it to AJAX module in (id + title + value) manner.Is there a way to do that?
I'm trying to 'wrap tags' around text in a text box.
<script language=javascript> function insertFauxTags(fauxTag, e, endFauxTag) { var e = document.frmAddNewForum.txtTopicMessage.selected; document.frmAddNewForum.txtTopicMessage.Value += fauxTag + e + endFauxTag; } </script>
<a href="javascript:insertFauxTags('[p]' + e + '[/p]')"><img src="http://www.<%=strSiteName%>/images/parabutton.gif" border="0" alt="Paragraph" /></a> When I run this in FF I get 'e' is not defined - any ideas?
Code: function get(obj) { var getstr = "?"; for (i=0; i<obj.getElementsByTagName("input").length; i++) { if (obj.getElementsByTagName("input")[i].type == "text") { getstr += obj.getElementsByTagName("input")[i].name + "=" + obj.getElementsByTagName("input")[i].value + "&"; } I have a form with input objects enclosed in a table, but this part of a script cannot find the input objects unless it is outside the table.
I have a web page where a third party application "SharePoint" is broken file urls.If I have a file url like this \jquery.comfolders est folderdoc1.docThe application will add an href tag and the html will come out like this
i am using the folowing jquery function to generate a table of contents from the h tags in my web page. I could make some changes but i am not able to extend the function, so that it puts numbers in front of my toc elements like
I have now been playing around for hours trying to figure this out. Swore I would not ask for a solution. Now I have a headache, so I am asking. On one HTML Page (From.htm) I have:
[Code]...
I somehow, need to get the values as shown in the handle function for each of Products shown in From.htm. Keep in mind the only thing I know from From.htm is the class names. I have no idea what products are listed or what the input names are. This table is generated by a third party. Assume that index.htm and From.htm are on the same website.
The application I'm working on dynamically generates a HTML table like the one below. Having identified that I need to add an opening <tbody> before the first TR that contains the word "Diagnosis", opening + closing TBODY to all other TRs containing the word "Diagnosis" & Closing </TBODY> after the last closing TR?
Does anyone know why this isn't working? The toggle function works perfectly fine with PHP loops, but when I insert the table td tr tags, it does not hide the loop when the page first loads...It just shows the results in the div which it shouldn't be doing.
Here's what my code looks like...
JS
Code: <script type="text/javascript"> function toggle(element) { if (document.getElementById(element).style.display == "none") {
what I'm trying to do is get text from between two tags, just like the title says. Now I know I can get that through the innerHTML property, but its just that, I don't want HTML, I want plain text. Consider the following example.
<span id="p-5641"> This is <strong>strong</strong> & you should really put <em>emphasis</em> on that <a href="#">anchor</a>.<br>Line broken </span>
Now, what I want is, to get the text from between these span tags. That can be done by refering the ID of the span & innerHTML but that would give HTML & I want to strip off the HTML from it, so that I'm left with plain text, like
This is strong & you should really put emphasis on that anchor. Line broken with <br> & <p> tags preserved.
how I would dynamically add another table once text fields in the existing table is clicked on. So pretty much what I have is a table with 5 textboxes lined up horizontally in the first row along with couple of buttons in the second row. What I want is that once one text box is clicked, another table like the one above is created and appears below that initial table. So this is the inital table that should be replicated on each click:
I iterate through each list element, and do something like: $("#my_div").each(function(){ $(this).find(".message").html(); }); This code will give me: <a href="#">message1</a> But is there a way to just get "message1" ????
I've been playing around with a madlibs exercise while trying to learn simple javascript. I have three input boxes and a button display an alert containing the input from the boxes.
Am I right to be assigning variable names to the values from the text boxes and then referencing those variables in my alert?
I've been working on it for hours and can't get past this point.
Inset a name: <input type="text" id="textbox1" size="10"/> </br> Insert a verb :
I have a text area that I want to add simple html formatting buttons to.The user should be able to:- highlight text and click a 'bold' button- highlight text and click 'itallic' button- Add bulleted list- LinkI've looked at a number of WYSIWYG javascript examples, but they seem to accept Microsoft Word formatting, which I dont want
I saw a button that adds text to where the typing cursor is put.. for example:if the cursor is between the (how) and (you) in the following:how you. when you click the button it adds text between those two words so that it becomes: how are you?
I've got a form with a textarea box, currently you can just type a message in the box and submit it, then it is added to a mysql database and shows up on a page I made for people to view staff memos.
I've been asked to add formatting options like bold, italic, underline etc. Unfortunately me and javascript have never really met so I'm quite stumped. I can handle the form processing with PHP converting [b] to <strong> etc myself but I need help with the actual user interface.
