The application I'm working on dynamically generates a HTML table like the one below. Having identified that I need to add an opening <tbody> before the first TR that contains the word "Diagnosis", opening + closing TBODY to all other TRs containing the word "Diagnosis" & Closing </TBODY> after the last closing TR?

I have been using JQuery in the past 6 months and I really got in love with it!Finally,I've come to an issue that (probably) have better solution than the one Im trying to do with.I have multiple tables in a HTML [code]all of these tables are some kind of gridviews filled with data using JSon and JQuery.The problem is:Before filling with data, only this part in the DOM is created <table id="myTableId"> <tbody> !so, before going forward with filling the table with data and creating <tr>'s and <td>'s, I would like to find the current (not filled one) table ID.The algorithm would be:
1. <table id="mytableId"> is generated
2. right after #1, find table ID.
3. Depending of the table ID, generated data accordingly. (Continue with creating tr's and td's)
I have tried using closest('table'), also using find(), parent(), parents() and some other methods with which I've been working previously, but still no success.I can find the table by uing var tId = $(TABLE['id*='myTable']").attr('id');, but this finds all tables with 'myTable' and I want to find only the one that is created at that moment and waits for filling with data.
I'm trying to add a certain number of row in one click via javascript. So far I could manage to add one row but is there a way to add multiple row in one click? Also can I add colspan to it?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a single web page that is broken into content sections that are all assigned element id's (home, about, services, and contact) and have a fixed navigation bar that points to anchors associated with each element id / page section. Since the navigation bar is fixed, it comes along with us as we scroll through the page. I've got a jQuery smooth scrolling effect that makes a nice transition between sections of the page when you click on one of the navigation links. Between the sections I have an image that looks cool as the page scrolls past between sections.
Problem:Since the page is kind of long, I would like to use the jQuery .hide method to remove page sections that lie between the current section of the page that is being viewed and the section targeted by the navigation link. At the same time, the .show method will be used to ensure the target section of the page is visible. Therefore, I need to include an exception to the list of elements that I am hiding - the element that I am currently viewing (and is consequently being displayed as the current url in the browser due to the anchor tags).ExampleFor instance, say you're viewing the "about" section of the page and you click the navigation link to the "contact" section. The "contact" link in the navigation bar is assigned the id="nav_contact." When you click the "contact" button, I've made the following jQuery happen:

I've got an issue with the attached file.
I have 3 buttons & 3 divs.
I would like to hide/show the relevant divs (into a container) based upon the button pressed. If no div was open, then it would simply open the relevant div, however if say div 2 was open and div 3 was pressed, div 2 would toggle closed then div 3 would toggle open.
I've got each individual div opening and closing, but I'm stuck at the next point (checking if a div is open/toggling etc).

I want to select the line of text ("Text I want to remove" - with no HTML tags around it) and hide it using CSS (or remove it all together, if I can). I have tried using insertAfter to put a start <span> tag at the start of the line, and insertBefore to close the </span> tag at the end of the line (so I can apply CSS display:none; to it), but clearly JQuery doesn't work like that.
Is there another way to get rid of this line of text?

I am putting the finishing touches to a custom written (pHp) article editor to allow users to publish content on a website.I have basically finished the project, and I am putting the finishing touches in with jquery widgets, such as a word counter. I would also like people to be able to highlight a section of text, then have some custom tags wrap the text (much like on this forum when you highlight a word in the message box and hit the wrap button).I would like my own custom tags to be used, such as <span class='someclass'>some entered text</span> rather than predefined ones.

I have a system receiving an html document as an array of lines, an am inserting this into a div using .append().
If an html tag is opened in 1 line (array element) of the string, and not closed within the same line, .append() automatically closes the tag on the same line, though there is already a corresponding close tag later in the html string.
Minimal test code:

I receive a null value, but when I use td:first within the chain of elements, it works.Has anyone experienced this issue or have any idea why this is not working? I've tried other TDs with diffirent IDs within the same row, and the same null result happens.Is there a possible limitation to the numbe of IDs used within the chaining of the $() call?

I want to get the ROW VALUES OF CURRENTLY SELECTED/CHECKED ROW
Here's what I'm trying to do:
1) I get reference to a div that's on my page:
var theDiv = $("#" + divID);
2) Now I want to add a custom attribute tag to it, so for instance I want to add "winWidth" so that the div object now contains "winWidth=" for instance.
3) I want to set winWidth now since it's part of theDiv to a value
I'm not sure how to really do 1 + 2. I need to do this on the fly because some javascript logic later will add these attributes dynamically to the div... outside of what the original div had...I don't care what it had, I know I have it now in a JS variable and now I want to both add some new attributes to the div, and then set them on the fly. I don't need these attributes to be on my page, I just need them added to my div variable reference.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI am using the ajax method in JQuery to return an XML response from a URL location. The method looks like the following:

OK so if I use repsonseText responseXML or just try and traverse msg it will not work. The problem is the body of my XML response, all of the tags ('<' and '>') are getting escaped to html entities ('<' and '>') So it becomes a malformed XML document that is not readable. I even tried using the Javascript function replace to go through and replace with no luck.
Even stranger if I access the web service through the browser, the XML is just fine!
The server is Windows Server 2008 running IIS 7 and I am programming of course in HTML and newest version of JQuery.
The browser I am testing on is Firefox with FireBug.
