I am not a javascript programmer, however are checking as I would like to investigate if I can do following:
I have a calculator that check the price for the properties for a choosen date, I use php and mysql to get the result and the result are displayed on the same page refreshing the page using this in the form: action="<?=$_SERVER['SCRIPT_NAME']?>#formdestination">
I know you can print the result using ajax or other javascripts to do this without having to refresh the page and jump to the result.
Was doing a research and I quckly found this link:[URL]..It does not look so complicated, however as I can see the form is done in javascript so I suppose if you have javascript disabled you cant use the calculator.
I would like to have a non javascript solution with the way I am doing it to work if javascript is disabled. An exampel of the calculator can be viewed on this link for exampel:[URL]..
[URL] Refer to the link, using the sample, I'm able to use php ajax to populate 1 text box which I've already pre-define (not using "echo '<input type='text'..") -- the info came from a table
e.g.
Search: [jo ]
Name: [John doe]
sql
---
select name from customer where name like '%jo%';

I am having no luck with my post form to mysql. It is only posting the first letter of the word/phrase for the text input fields to the mysql database. It is a photo and text post form. The photo and only first letter of text are posting to database. I am using Jqtouch, jquery, and phonegap.

I have a client who wants to automatically send coupons that are selected by the customer on this page. Now, this will be handled by a mailing list software but it was suggested by the support team that the input fields (labeled coupon#_#) could be populated by using Javascript. There are 3 coupons and here's how have them structured:
Code:
<div class="coupon1">
<hr />
<img src="images/logo-wow.png" width="188" height="81" />
<address>
1712 SW Railroad Ave (Highway 51)<br />
Hammond, LA 70403<br />

I have a situation where I need to populate form fields by grabbing information from a database when the user enters information in a specific field. I got this to work with a single field just to make sure I had the basics in place:
* User fills out "Field A" onchange event triggers Javascript function that uses Ajax to search and retrieve info from database (PHP/MySQL) Javascript function autofills "Field B" with Ajax response
Works perfectly. My trouble is that I need to do this with a whole series of fields at once, not just one. I tried using the PHP to output a Javascript array and then use the values from the array to populate the fields, but that didn't work. I got a message saying that my array was undefined. I'm not even sure this was the proper way to approach this, but it's all I could think of.
What i want to do is populate a dropdown with data brought from mysql. However there is are two radio buttons i have which i want to choose what data the dropdown i populated with. This is the code i have so far. I don't have no js yet as my skill is php and mysql, not javascript. Code:
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am working on a page where the user will select a location from a dynamically generated dropdown list. I was able to create the php multidimensional array (tested and working) from a MySql database using the users information at login, but I'm having problems converting it to a javascript multidimensional array. I need to be able to access variables that I can pass to a number of text fields within an html form.For instance, if a user belongs to a company with multiple addresses, I need to be able to let them select the address they need to prepopulate specific text fields.

It's probably very simple, but I'm short on js skills - thinking need to define the time/date as a variable and then populate that into val('') somehow?
Below is the code I use to populate a textboxes (compaddress) when I select the compname from the dropdown. I would like to be able to populate other textboxes such as the compdescription, compmaincontact and others when I select the compname from the dropdown. what.form.textfield.value=what.options[what.selectedIndex].title
}
window.onload=function() {

Does anyone know how to set a javascript variable as a query result from a MySQL database.

I just can't do it. I've tried doing it like this:
But the thing stops my <body onLoad=""> function from working. I'm no expert in Javascript.

I want to populate a combobox with data pulled from a mysql db . The value of second combobox depends on what's been selected in first combobox. I assume pulling the data completely when loading the combobox and then filtering it locally to populate the second combobox based on the selection in first combobox will suit my needs so that i do not have to query server.What is the best way of doing it?

I have a form on a web page, with one field to enter a code, to search for a property.On clicking 'submit' I want to be able to run a script asynchronously in the background.The script will need to run a MYSQL statement which will have one of these results:
1. The property code does not exist, so display a Javascript Alert saying it does not exist.
2. The property is for sale, so call an existing javscript function 'saleSubmit(propertyCode)' to overwrite the exsiting web page with a new page sale.php for that property code
3. The property is for rent, so call an existing javscript function 'rentSubmit(propertyCode)' to overwrite the exsiting web page with a new page rent.php for that property code
My slills are in PHP and MySQL and I have no knowledge of tools like Ajax, jQuery and I am currently having problems getting my head around it. I have spent ages visiting lots of websites looking for examples on how to do this with little success.
I have a new and seemingly huge new project to work onWe have a database that our database administrator is willing to run a script on nightly.The result of this action will be a CVS file containing information that is specific to my departments needs.At first, I need to present visitors to my site with a way to pear the data down to a more manageable sizePrior to displaying the CSV file contents, I thought I would display a set of column headers with checkboxes. Using the checkboxes, I'd like to give visitors to my site the ability to decide which columns of data they want to hide or display.
After they've made their selections and pressed an "OK" button, I'd like to display the remaining contents of the CSV file as a table in a seperate windowThe next part is very Excel like..At the top of each column, I'd like to include a series of drop down menus that visitors to my site can use to filter the list further.In my case, I don necessarily know every possible value for any given column. For example, imagine that one column contains city, another state and the third contains zip code. I could assume all 50 states in the union, however the actual data might also include Puerto Rico and the US Virgin islands. Or I might assume every zipcode in the US, however the actual data might include zip codes for Canada, etc... For this reason, I would like to populate the drop down menus dynamically.
I have a site setup that uses ajax to create a suggest popup like google suggest. As the user types in each letter, it pops up a div that lists the possible suggestions that the user can select to populate the text field. It works fine, but in order to select a suggestion, I have to select the suggestion with the mouse. However, I would like the ability to use the arrow keys to select the suggestions....

In php I've made the connection and create a selection menu and with javascript I was able to display, (when I selected for example "Bas" in the selection menu), bas his name into a first input text field. Now a couple of things I still want but can't seem to get it right.
First: I also want to display "bas" his email address in a second input text field. (the database contains more names, but this an example).
Second: The selection menu starts with the first name in the database, but can I make it for example "Select name" as beginning.

i have a form with fields (30+), and about 5 of them are fields that need to pass into my dropdown (actually a dynmaic dropdown, select SOURCE, then whatever source u select it'll show options that are mysql source=$source), so it can go into my mysql query, and filter out the best results. (i.e date_of_birth, min_credits, state, etc). Needs to be done without submitting, hence javascript. Im echo'ing my query and its saying the variables i'm trying to pass are UNDEFINED. Am I not passing the vars correctly? do i need to prep the vars to "grab" them in the current field?

I have here a code that will automatically generate two text fields (Title & Price) when "Add another article" is pressed. I got this from the web, but I want instead of using a text field, I want it to create a drop down menu based on a mysql table, then update the price automatically (also based on the mysql table) on the other text field once a selection has been made on the drop down menu.

I'd like some direction on creating a small piece of Javascript that will populate my <select> boxes. Basically, I have a form for users to create events, with a start time and an end time. (These are the two select boxes). For example:
Code:
<select id="startTime">
<option value="12:00AM">12:00AM</option>
<option value="12:15AM">12:15AM</option>
etc.....
</select>
What I am trying to do is:
1) Have times populated in 15 minute incrementals from 12:00AM to 11:45PM
2) Have some type of "error checking" available to where the End Time must be after the start time. It would be nice for the script to automatically change the end time field to a time that is after the start time.
