So i've got a form that adds an element onto the page. This is working. When I try to remove said elements, that works. But the same 'delete' button doesn't work on elements not generated by javascript.

Let's say $pages is a collection containing all div elements that have an id of page1 or page2. From this, I wish now to select now only the page div (i.e page1 or page2) that contains a descendant with a class of 'A'. Tried lots of things, just can't get the format right.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a page I am working and I am having some trouble with: I need to show and hide areas based on a radio selection. I initally started using the show / hide feature in Jquery but the problem is the elements need to be removed but then put back if the user selects the radio buttonagain as it has form elements that have validaion on them. The validation is still trying to validate the form elements becuase they are still on the page but just not showing. This is the radio group the user makes the selection from:

I have HTML tags stored in XML. I want to be able to use these HTML elements with Javascript, just as you can with elements in document.body. How can it be done? (And don't try and tell me I should use server-side because I have written it all for Javascript and the project is nearly complete minus this and there are practical reasons for not doing this server-side. After all, anything is possible with Javascript!)
Let me explain:
- I have HTML templates such as this [URL]
- I want javascript to populate these templates then add them to my page
- The only way I know javascript can get this kind of data is by parsing XML
- I want to parse the XML then be able to use the HTML elements just like those in document.body
- As far as I'm aware, XML is the only good way of storing data for javascript. I don't want to store it in javascript variables (too much multiline data with " and '). Nor do I want to build it using document.createElement("div")... etc
As someone not yet with any experience in computer science etc, please ignore my poor terminology! However, I'm not a beginner when it comes to javascript.

I tried to get this to work for so long now, I have a form which will have generated fields - ultimately becoming HTML arrays, yet I can't seem to get it to work right wiht Javascript, the code is below, but JS gives me an error saying "area[0] is not defined.HTML format:

Click on any of them, and they open up just fine, however, after this point they dont close, and you also can't open any other one, it just... stays stuck there.
I had this working just fine, and in the process of working with wordpress and templating, obviously I changed something to mess it up.
I am just now starting to use the jquery clone and validation features and I'm having a little issue.I am using relCopy plugin to clone the elements and the jquery.validate.js plugin to validate that they are not empty.

Only the original select and text field are getting validated, the form submits even if a cloned element is not filled in.
I dynamically generated some buttons, textboxes, radio (input types) etc using createElement method. The generation works fine. I append the newly generated input types to a span placed in the body. I want to make these draggable. I tried several ways of making the inputs draggable but none work. How do I make them draggable?

The following renders a rounded div but not a rounded input element in FF3, IE7, IE8, and in fact causes the input box border to disappear completely.

I am running into an effect issue with IE only. I have a <UL> with about 4 <LI> and I apply the fadeIn() on individual <LI> based on user actions. Inside of each <LI> I have a div that is styled with: -moz-opacity:.8; opacity:0.80; filter:alpha(opacity=80); The problem is that when I fadeIn() the <LI> all of its children elements' opacity is taken from 0 to 100%, AND THEN the div that is styled with the opacity is taken back to 80%. This causes sort of a flicker because it goes from 0% to 100% and then quickly back to 80%. Is there a way to get around this? Is that a known bug? View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using the following plugin to include pagination functionality in my application In a nutshell I'm developing a map-based application using Google Maps. The markers that I display on the map and the corresponding information windows (infowindows) that are displayed when clicking on a marker are dynamically rendered from records in a database as the user moves around the map. So basically these DOM elements are dynamically removed and added throughout a user's sessionThe contents of these infowindows are what I need to paginate in cases where multiple markers are stacked on top of one another.
I call the paginate() function from the marker's click event handler if that marker's infowindow contains more than one DIV. It all works beautifully until the user triggers an event that causes the markers to redraw (e.g panning the map). Once the following happens the paginate() function mysteriously no longer works. 1. I click on a stacked marker that causes the paginate() function to execute 2. I then execute some event that causes the markers (and corresponding infowindow DOM elements) redraw3. I click on the same marker as was clicked in #1. No errors are generated and the paginate() function is definitely called but the pagination does not occur. I think it might have something to do with jQuery seeing the containing DIV's id as a duplicate ID? Could I be on to something there?
Is there any alternative way to disable elements in real time as .attr("disabled",true) or .attr("disabled","disabled") do not work in IE7, only with IE8 or FireFox 3?

I'm working with the quasipartikel plugin for multi selection. Available here:Mutliselect.Great plugin, very happy with it overall.However, on my page I want to trigger functionality when something is added or removed. Looking through the code, I see that a link is added for each item of a selection box with the class 'action'. Thus, I figure I should be able to trigger code of it, like so:

This code is supposed to find all table rows with a class of "selected", remove that class, then find all checked inputs that are descendants of a tr and give its tr a class of selected. The problem is, that even radio boxes that are not checked are being returned by $(' tr input:checked', '#deviceSelection') and everything is getting a class of selected. Anyone know whats wrong? I'm using jQuery 1.4.1

Is JQuery live() supported in mobile app browsers? I am having a difficult time getting an application to work. I've posted some code to illustrate/test the problem below. Three lists, #1 using bind(), #2 using live(), and #3 using live() whilst allowing to add list elements. Clicking the list item should just bring you to a second page that displays your selection (it updates whatever was there before, original text is 'original' text). Works great on my PC in all browsers except IE, and on Android/FireFox, but not with IPhone/Safari and Andrpid/WebKit: ot only is the event not triggered on dynamically added list elements, it's not triggered on the 'static' elements in lists #2 and #3. The app was written using JQTouch; wondering if that disrupts somehow JQuery functions.

I am a graphic guy and do some web design but am not really good with javascript. I am using the enlargeit.js program for the photo viewer on [url] in the galleries. It has worked wonderfully up till now. I recieved new pictures from the owner to post on his page and they will not open when i view them live. I use dreamweaver cs5 and when i look in preview mode, they work great. They are standard jpg images.

I have resized them, changed file formats, opened them in photoshop and edited them, and basically anything else you could think of, i tried. Even if i open one of the working photos in photoshop and place the new one over it and save it as something completely different it still does not work! everything else does.
I have some code and it wasn't working at all in IE and then I found that there was a bug relating to it.So I downgraded to using 1.4.1 and the code works, but not completely. When I first check the checkbox in IE it does nothing, it's only when I check it for the second time (uncheck and then check again) that it changes the values accordingly. The select form elements do work in 1.4.1 [code]
