I am very new to jquery live function & i stuck in to the problem. I am using live function to get the ajax response & appending to the div here is my code,
function add_master(module_url, response_target_id, custom_id) { $('a.addclass').live('click', function() {alert('add'); $(response_target_id).fadeIn('fast');
I'm trying to create a demo to display a new way of showing our data.I thought I remembered this being pretty simple but I'm hitting a snag. The table, the mouse over, and the check row by clicking on the row all work separately but when the check row by clicking function is on, seen in the first row, the checkbox stops working.
I added the Javascript code that denies viewers of the website access to the right click functions. It works perfectly in Internet Explorer but when you view the website in Google Chrome you are able to right click and copy, etc. Why is that? Am I missing something in the coding or is it something else?
WhenIrun the below code above the init code for jQuery plugins it stops them working. Im just trying to run the code after the DOM has loaded, is there a better way? <script type="text/javascript">$(document).ready(function() {
// The gallery is hidden so need to unhide it. document.getElementById('verticalCarousel').style.visibility='visible' }) </script>
I'm trying to use the cascade function from the below link. If I try it as it is there, it works, but if I change the jquery reference to the one I'm using (1.7.1) it stops working... is there a diferent way to use that ajax call or am I missing anything?
It seems that jQuery allows someone to solve a problem in many ways. For example, .click() and .live('click'...) seem to do the same thing.Is there an advantage of using one over the other?

When u refresh the page, the function works properly. When I dynamically add new rows to the table using ajax, I get no response.
I have an expandable menu (not an accordion), that needs to toggle div elements below it. If I put the click event on the h3 of the menu, it works fine but as soon as I put it on the link, it doesn't work.
I'm working on a website and using jquery quite a lot.For a first level of coding, I'm using Chrome and everything works just fine.But I'm having a first bug when using Firefox.Indeed, I create a button with a click function and when I display my page on Firefox, the click doesn't fire any action like it does on Chrome.Here is the peace of code:HTML declaration of the button:
'm trying to make some code so that when a user clicks on a picture, a image will be displayed where it was clicked (i.e the x and y co ordinates). Anyway, so I started writing it but my code doesn't seem to work, so I'd like to see what I've done wrong.[code]And the image which I want clicked has an id of "world".
It worked fine as long as the href attribute of the anchor tag was '#'. Then I tried using href other than '#' and ran into a problem. I just changed the href to:
It only breaks when located inside the click handler. It does not return response headers or a response. Is there something about event handlers and ajax that I'm missing?
My website is all up and running and I decided to put a new image viewing script on, I already had a revolving image script showing all my previous work before but the latest script has totally stopped the previous from working. You can view what I mean at www.actioncomputing.co.uk

We have a testing application that displays a timer on the screen using Javascript. It seems to be working very well. However, someone brought to my attention today that if you click-and-hold the browsers close button in the upper right corner (the X button in Windows) that the timer will stop. You can then slide your mouse cursor off of the button, and the browser will not close, but the timer was stopped for the entire time that the button was being held down. This also works for the Minimize and Maximize buttons.
My site has a template design using PHP includes. I have a chatbox include on the home page, which itself is an include of the master page. The chatbox include contains all of the javascript functions for the chat. The problem is that I need to have a function automatically execute to start the chat, but I don't know how to do this without using 'onLoad' in a body tag. As far as I know, body tags should not be used in an include.How else can I have the 'startChat()' function load automatically?
big fan -- first time poster. I've been learning javascript and jquery on the fly so bear with me if I seem to lack understanding of what may be semantic basics.
Anyway, I'm building a mobile app using phonegap. One page grabs data for a table from ajax, and each table element has a delete button in one of the cells. In short: the clicks aren't working. I put the alert in to test, and no dice. I'm not asking for help on the internals, I'm just stumped on why the function isn't being activated,
I'm working with the quasipartikel plugin for multi selection. Available here:Mutliselect.Great plugin, very happy with it overall.However, on my page I want to trigger functionality when something is added or removed. Looking through the code, I see that a link is added for each item of a selection box with the class 'action'. Thus, I figure I should be able to trigger code of it, like so:
var j$ = jQuery.noConflict(); j$(document).ready(function() { ... j$('.multiselect').multiselect(); ...
