I added the Javascript code that denies viewers of the website access to the right click functions. It works perfectly in Internet Explorer but when you view the website in Google Chrome you are able to right click and copy, etc. Why is that? Am I missing something in the coding or is it something else?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am doing a simple example of autocomplete textbox.Well whenever I am typing anything in the textbox it shows me the existing options as we know the default functionality of autocomplete textbox. Now I need that when I select one of the options from the autocomplete list droping below the textbox the blur function should execute so that the focus should get away from the textbox. I have tried document.getElementById('text1').blur() but it is not working in chrome and safari.

i am working on a web project using jquery for many purposes like tooltip, action events on the page etc. So far I was using firefox as I had that browser only. today, i installed google chrome to see how the project looks in another browser. but I found a strange problem, all the java scripts which where working in firefox are not working now. i am unable to guess the reason, i have enabled javascrpt in the settings but still nothing seems to work.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am using a jQuery Slideshow on a website homepage that I am helping to develop.
The homepage can be seen here: [URL].. This site is currently in production and I am trying to make some improvements at the moment. But I cannot understand why the slideshow isn't behaving correctly in Chrome. I'll tell you what it is supposed to do.
1) Page loads... slideshow begins to loop through 4 slides, each linking to an article on the website.2) When you click on a thumbnail on the right of the slideshow, it should bring that slide into focus - You can then click on the "Read More" link in the description at the bottom of the main photo to go to that article.
Now here is what it is actually doing. 1) Page loads - slideshow begins to loop through the 4 slides, this is working.2) Click on a thumbnail and it does focus on that slide but it only brings up the image... the section containing the information/description and the link to the article is missing.3) The slideshow then continues to loop through the slides as usual but each time it comes to the slide you previously brought into focus, the information at the bottom is missing.
I have checked in other browsers and this does not appear to be happening. I have also checked in earlier versions of Chrome and this did not happen - It is only happening with the latest version of Chrome.

Using an rss plugin produces the same error, so it seems to be with jQuery.
Firefox works a dream, but in IE, Google Chrome, Safari and Avant javascript does not run at all. Looking at the code it may be the body 'onload' that is not firing?the javascript

I am trying to develop an application, where I am accessing the data available in a remote server and rendering the data in an HTML page in my local system, using an Ajax call. i have an iframe inside a page(main). In that iframe, i am calling a java script function that is in the main page.This function call is working in Mozilla , IE but not in Safari and google chrome?? Is there any specific reason for that? when i add the function in the iframe it works.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI do pretty much all the computer related tasks, which includes computer system repair, audio/video editing, cd/dvd printing and duplication, document format and creation, etc etc. But when it comes to HTML (or other codes) I know very little. But we needed a website, so I use Homestead hosting and the Homestead (offline) Site Builder program.
Anyway, inside the sight builder program, they have the option to insert HTML Snippets. Which I use for various objects, off site tools, and other. But now I need to do something for which I have not been able to find a "premade" html code object, that can perform the task desired. I have searched and searched google and went through many sites, including this one. I have tried to take some codes which I thought I could alter to make it perform, but they just wouldn't work for what I needed them to do.
I need a code that will automate a "specific text message" to change daily, and to schedule a "different specific text message" to appear each day. I need to be able to schedule each days "texts" at the very least 31 days in advance. In other words, I need to make an array (I think that's what it is called) for the entire month:
Day 1 "today's text 1"
Day 2 "today's text 2"
Day 3 "today's text 3"

If were possible to make an "array" that would go six months out (or more) that would be very helpful! But the longest that I have seen is one month at a time, so that may be as long as they go, but I'm not sure.On top of all of this, I need these changes to be performed at a specific time of the day. I would like them to be preformed at sunset everyday, but I don't think there is anyway to direct the code to look at like [URL] sunset times or such. So if I can at least choose a specific hour, like 8:00 pm, that will work, I will just have to adjust this every once in a while.
However, I don't want it to change just at 8:00pm in my timezone. I need it to change at 8:00pm according to the website viewers timezone. Is there a way to make the code "look" at the users computer and "get their time" and use that to adjust what text is displayed? In other words, I live in Indiana USA. If someone in Australia looked up the webpage on the 15th day of the month, but it was 9:00pm Their Time. The text I need to be displayed should be for "Day 16" from the array.
i need a webpage with a lot of input:text and select:option. each modification on an element must be immediately validated through ajax. for this reason, the best choice i've found is to add a form element around each box. and use the classname of the input:submit button to identify the form instead of the ID of the form.
the submit button is hidden so the default choice to validate the form is to press enter after modification in the cell. however, as it works perfectly in FF and Opera, nothing happens on IE and Chrome.

Does anyone have a sizeable popup that will work in google chrome? I have tried several scripts for this with no success, they all open full page. Here is an example of what I am looking for. The problem with this is it opens a new page plus a full page popup

I found out both browsers use webkit but have no idea how you do it for the 2 browsers.I'm using asp.net ajax components for javascript and this works for the 3 browsers get_inputElement() = my textbox

I have it setup so I may use ajaxpage() to load pages with other div items in it. The problem is that I cannot reference the div items loaded by ajaxpage(). I have provided an example below to illustrate this. It was working fine in the prior version of Google Chrome and is still working fine in IE 8, IE 7, and Firefox. The version of Chrome I am currently using is 4.0.249.78

This code was working just fine in the prior stable version of chrome, and still works properly in IE 8, IE 7, and Firefox without any errors (The version of chrome giving me problems is 4.0.249.78). Does anyone know how to go about fixing this? Is this something wrong with the latest version of chrome, or is this on my end? The site I am currently working on relies heavily on this working, and having to change things means altering several thousand lines of code.
