Onload Not Working In IE, Google Chrome, Safari And Avant?

Firefox works a dream, but in IE, Google Chrome, Safari and Avant javascript does not run at all. Looking at the code it may be the body 'onload' that is not firing?the javascript

This works fine in IE and Firefox. But Google Chrome and Safari fails.
Using an rss plugin produces the same error, so it seems to be with jQuery.

i have an iframe inside a page(main). In that iframe, i am calling a java script function that is in the main page.This function call is working in Mozilla , IE but not in Safari and google chrome?? Is there any specific reason for that? when i add the function in the iframe it works.

I'm creating a custom text box.that's an easy thing to do for me but I encounter some problems on the javascript part.in the onfocus event of the textbox I try to get the caret position on the start.it works perfect on FF, IE and opera but I just can't get it to work in safari and google chrome. I found out both browsers use webkit but have no idea how you do it for the 2 browsers.I'm using asp.net ajax components for javascript and this works for the 3 browsers get_inputElement() = my textbox

I'm having a strange issue with the positioning of a youtube videobar in the the right sidebar, but it only seems to be happening on Chrome and Safari. When one of the video thumbnails in the bar is clicked, it's supposed to open a player video beside it, but in Chrome and Safari the player video opens elsewhere on the page. It appears to work fine in Firefox and IE7 (only other browsers I've been able to test it in so far).
When I take the website's existing HTML and CSS out of the equation and just test the videobar by inserting it in a blank HTML page (an example) the player opens in the correct position, which is a dynamic position calculated within the javascript of Google's Search API. I haven't changed it from the defaults, just copied it locally to the site. The bulk of the changes to Google's defaults that I've made were by placing the #videoBar div that contains the videobar itself within a styled #vidBarholder div with a background image. Both of those divs are then placed within the sidebar left floated containing div.

I am using javascript to change the buttons on my website so that they load up a different image when hot spots on the buttons are hovered over.
Everything has been working great, but this morning I tried checking out my site and for some reason the javascript wasn't working in Chrome, or on my iphone using Safari. I tried it in IE and everything still works.
Any ideas on why it would stop working for those two browsers?

I am doing a simple example of autocomplete textbox.Well whenever I am typing anything in the textbox it shows me the existing options as we know the default functionality of autocomplete textbox. Now I need that when I select one of the options from the autocomplete list droping below the textbox the blur function should execute so that the focus should get away from the textbox. I have tried document.getElementById('text1').blur() but it is not working in chrome and safari.

I've written a google maps app for work and have got it all running nicely...in chrome. I've only just noticed that for some reason it's not working in firefox or internet explorer. we've got some pretty simple javascript that calls a random html file into a div on a very simple page. The called file contains a vimeo embed in an iframe.
This script works perfectly in Safari and Chrome, but not FF. in FF the first html file to be called remains, no matter how many times you refresh the page.
Is this due to FF handling iframes differently, or do I need to modify the script to work within FF as well as the others due to a nuance I'm not aware of? Perhaps the randomising part of the script is incorrecT?

i am working on a web project using jquery for many purposes like tooltip, action events on the page etc. So far I was using firefox as I had that browser only. today, i installed google chrome to see how the project looks in another browser. but I found a strange problem, all the java scripts which where working in firefox are not working now. i am unable to guess the reason, i have enabled javascrpt in the settings but still nothing seems to work.

I am using jquery to do two things: - load a modal popup which loads an html page (I'm using facebox) - in the modal popup, I have before/after states of the image, which is handled by a little jquery code
In FF and IE everything works correctly. In Safari and Chrome, the modal popup works, but once the popup loads, the before/after states of the image does not work. I can't seem to find a solution to this.
I am loading jquery on the home page (index.html) but I do not have it being loaded in the modal popup html pages. Is that the problem?

I´ve just worte a few lines using $.ajax() to load an xml file and then parse it to create a carousel, the problem is that i've already probe it on chrome 3.1 and it was working perfectly, at this time chrome 5.0.x it doesn't work, it makes nothing, the success callback response is ok, but it doesn't load the reuqested elements , it's been proved on FF, Safari, IE, Opera

I am using a jQuery Slideshow on a website homepage that I am helping to develop.
The homepage can be seen here: [URL].. This site is currently in production and I am trying to make some improvements at the moment. But I cannot understand why the slideshow isn't behaving correctly in Chrome. I'll tell you what it is supposed to do.
1) Page loads... slideshow begins to loop through 4 slides, each linking to an article on the website.2) When you click on a thumbnail on the right of the slideshow, it should bring that slide into focus - You can then click on the "Read More" link in the description at the bottom of the main photo to go to that article.
Now here is what it is actually doing. 1) Page loads - slideshow begins to loop through the 4 slides, this is working.2) Click on a thumbnail and it does focus on that slide but it only brings up the image... the section containing the information/description and the link to the article is missing.3) The slideshow then continues to loop through the slides as usual but each time it comes to the slide you previously brought into focus, the information at the bottom is missing.
I have checked in other browsers and this does not appear to be happening. I have also checked in earlier versions of Chrome and this did not happen - It is only happening with the latest version of Chrome.

I'm a newbie to jquery and am using jquery version 1.4.2 in my java application. I am trying to develop an application, where I am accessing the data available in a remote server and rendering the data in an HTML page in my local system, using an Ajax call. The code works fine in IE7 and above. However, I am facing a problem in Firefox ( version 3.5.8) and google Chrome. The following error is reported in Firefox [code]
While searching in google on this error, I have found that this occurs because Firefox's security model does not allow retrieving/accessing localhost resources.Also Firefox does not allow accessing resources from other domains.The following are the source code of the html and js files [code]Is there anything that I am missing? It works in Google Chrome but not Firefox and Internet Explorer. My computer has blocked Opera and I don't know how to change that. Too much energy to investigate now, I'll do so later.I'm assuming GoogleChrome is fixing a syntax error that FF and IE don't.

has the problem. When I set up alerts to see what works and what doesn't, this code seems to be causing the FF and IE to not work, but I can't tell what it is that's causing them to fail.This is javascript that is suppose to check if a name has been taken by another user.
I'm working on a fairly large project that I wish to be the new formspring, (size wise) I procrastinated for 2 weeks of my 12 week break and now that I'm just getting started on it I'm running into an ishness load of problems...

I'm using a function to load a page into a div. When I add the class of the element I want to show (.contentpaneopen) Chrome and Safari show no content. It works OK in IE and FF.When I ommit the class it works on all browsers.

I added the Javascript code that denies viewers of the website access to the right click functions. It works perfectly in Internet Explorer but when you view the website in Google Chrome you are able to right click and copy, etc. Why is that? Am I missing something in the coding or is it something else?

I thought that if I have:

that some_script would not be called until the <body> was completely
loaded - is this not the case? With Safari 1.3 I seem to have to delay
inside some_script (there is some php in the <body> that slows down the
loading). Since I happen to have a spare iframe in my <body>, I load a
tiny bit of html in it whose job is simply to set a "loaded" flag,
tested inside my delay code.
What I was observing was that some fields inside a <form> in the <body>,
whose values are set by some_script, were, with Safari, not visible
until I clicked in one of them - then they all popped into sight. I
wasn't seeing this with other browsers and a delay mechanism fixed it.
It was as if the onload was triggered as soon as it was encountered
rather than when the loading was complete.
